I am due to start taking Vitex and Saw Palmetto from my next CD1 which should be weds. I know you should take saw palmetto AF-O but I was wondering can I just take vitex AF-O or should I take it the whole cycle? I have read somewhere that if taking the whole cycle it can really delay OV but if you stop a couple of days before O due O will come on. Or is that wrong? And therefore pointless to just take it AF-O?

im not sure but i only took mine af-O then i stopped but i wasn't taking very much. i had combined mine with vit b6 and never used the saw palmetto. i did however get a delayed O. to me it wasn't a big deal and yes i got girls every single time i did this. maybe atomic would know more then me. good luck

take it only from AF-OV, reason being that you shouldn't take vitex during pregnancy

Fab great news that was the plan! Starting on it tomorrow I think, I am curious to see what it does to my cycles!

I have been taking it continually since Nov 1. For the first 3 cycles, my O was still like clockwork. This 4th month, I suddenly did not O. I always O on CD12 or 13. When I had no O by CD16, I stopped the Vitex and within 24 hours got a positive OPK. May have been coincidence but next month I am going to take it only until CD12 hoping to either O on time or trigger O.

Yes thats exactly what I read, that it can delay O especially if taken constantly but if you stop a couple of days before then O will still arrive. I normally O on CD15 so will perhaps take my last pill on CD 13 x

I am not totally following this question but if you are doing an attempt, you MUST stop vitex and SP at or just before O.

If you are NOT doing an attempt this month, you can take vitex and SP all month long but you might not O that month and then you end up with older than optimal eggs - most people O just fine even when taking them tho, even all month long.

Sometimes when people try to take vitex and SP from AF-O, they don't O until they stop them. So as a general rule to prevent this from happening, I'm suggesting that people may want to stop them the day before you expect to O, and then be prepared if O doesn't take place for a few days afterwards. This is more the exception than the rule, but I just want people to be prepared for whatever possibility comes their way.

Just to chim in - I took Vitex from AF to AF for four cycle it made them more regular which was a god send.
I was thinking of coming off vitex in the new year and the month of November i took it AF - O and had a BFP in December.
Weather it was the vitex AF -O trick i dont know.

Yes we are not trying yet (think the cycle I am going to start ttc in will be OV day 30th April) so was just checking whether I could take them AF-AF. However I think even though we arent trying I am still just going to take them AF-O, I started on them yesterday. I had definately heard about stopping them day before or 2 days before OV and then OV should arrive as expected so think I am going to do this. Thanks all x

Just so people understand, vitex can help people with very irregular cycles, but if your cycles are already very regular, it can interfere with them!

Interestingt hat it was when you took V from AF-O that you got the BFP Journey!!
