View Full Version : What does BSF do to you?

This is kind of gross...but I thought BSF just raised your ph? I tried it last night for the first time ever to see what happened cause I didn't want to try the first time on the day of our attempt and ruin it. Within an hour I had that much watery/EWCM it looked like a Ghostbusters reunion in my underwear! I seriously would of slid off the chair if I had sat down with no pants on.

Not sure if it was just some random fluke I tried again tonight and yep about an hour later it's everywhere again!! Does it thin out your CM....resulting in an increased amount? Or am I just some weird freak?

BSF will give you lot's of watery CM the more you put in the more CM because your V want to get rid of it so it try to wash it out so to say.
I use to do it a lot but now I think we really don't need BSF to ttc blue.

Ghostbusters is my favorite movie! That really made me laugh.

Yeah, it gave me a lot of watery CM. It also depends on how much you use--if you use too much, it leaves a ton of white in your undies too!

That is really interesting, thanks for letting us know! (I never did BSF so there is no way for me to know these things!!)

Didn't do much for me except make it harder to fall pregnant IMO! Month we stopped we got a bfp :)

It creates a more watery EWCM. Yes it feels like you've got water pouring out. We did it when I swayed. Got DD2. I think it's b/c I don't react well to BS down there. It burns like hell, even with repeated efforts to 'change' it. I personally regret trying it when swaying. Go figure, I'm probably not what you want to hear.

Thanks envisioned, I would LOVE it if people gave up BSF! I don't think it's good for sperm!

I used it last month and no BFP, Im just curious as to why you don't think it is good for sperm?

Because the idea that Y sperm "love" super high pH is completely unproven - ALL sperm thrive in a pH in the 7's and it makes no sense to me that sky high pH is any better for sperm than super low pH is!

Sperm weren't made to swim thru baking soda, they were made to swim thru EWCM and putting a big dose of chemistry between the sperm and the egg, just cannot assist in conception. Not to mention, if your body is trying to wash away some irritating substance, it might be producing fluids that while they may APPEAR to be similar to EWCM, may be totally different and not good for sperm or conception.

The only reason why baking soda (as a douche) ~might~ aid in conception is by slightly raising the pH of the whole vagina so less sperm are killed by the low pH. (I don't advise BSD either because I think it washes away CM and is irritating.) But a BSF is SO concentrated and it's right at the cervix so not only does it raise pH higher than is optimal for sperm to survive, it's almost like a barrier method of birth control really!!

I have used it two months in a row and no BFP, I'm not using it for my try this month, so we'll see what happens. Plus when I did use it, it didn't burn persay but it did tingle and wasn't all that comfortable. I'm just going to stick with pre-seed and my own EWCM and hopefully that will be enough this time around

I used preseed and I totally recommend it, its really good and I got BFP first time round using it. I also didn't do BSF because I didn't believe that it would really help and would probably cause an infection, I'm a great believer of if it ain't broke don't try to fix it! sort of thing, but pre seed is meant to help fertility so good luck and I hope you get your BFP!

thank you bumblebee, hopefully leaving out the BSF does the trick

Im so glad I stumbled on this thread! I have been debating on EW BSF Preseed and trying to figure out what to use for my attempt. I have read numours sways and dont really see great results with EW or BSF. It seems the best results are of those who use only preseed(although not a whole lot of ppl do and I cant see why not!)...this makes so much sense! I was thinking..If 7 is optimal for all sperm then wouldnt anything lower AND higher sway pink?? Maybe by using the EW and BSF ppl are acutally lowing sperm count and therefor increasing their chance for a girl??

Sorry somehow I missed seeing this post, never be shy about giving a post a bump or sending me a PM and tellling me to answer something - I try to answer everything.

I totally agree that the Preseed is the way to go. There's just a lot of bad info out there so people are led to believe higher pH is always the way to go for blue but all the theories that pH is even based on have been totally debunked. A lot of the other sites like to leave out the things that don't support their case and only present the studies that do, even tho a lot of those studies are decades old and have been totally disproven with better technology.

All you need to do is answer the thread again with the word "bump" and this puts it up at the top again. It also makes it light up again for me, which is really helpful because sometimes I start to answer a thread and then someone around here has a diaper blowout or whatnot and so the post looks like I read/answered it even tho I never did. :)
