So.... can we drink protein shakes if you think you are not eating enough protein? does anyone do this already? if so, how does it affect your sway? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have two boys and I had a protein shake everyday after I lifted weights or as a morning snack. Sometimes for a snack I would mix in cottage cheese with the powder for more protein.

@NewYorkmom... what kind of protein shake did you drink? is it the one you make your own? someone at the gym told me to be careful not to drink so much because it overworks your kidney? I've never had one before and was wondering which one to get... Dloui128 what kind do you use?

I like Muscle Provider by Beverly Nutrition and Problend. I ate over 100grams of protein a day when I conceived my sons and lots of walnuts and almonds.

I guess we shouldn't be replacing a meal though right? since we are not supposed to be losing weight? ugh .. I can't stand the thought of putting on weight. what about supplements? are you guys taking any for blue sway? does anyone know if Fertile CM and Fertaid for men is okay to take?

Kim-no I don't think you should be using it to replace a meal
I'm not sure if they are ok to take for men, but I do take the fertile CM and it seems to help with CM

I personally think it's better to get your protein thru real foods rather than highly processed "artificial" proteins that are in protein shakes. 100% for sure, stay away from the soy ones.

NYM was doing a lot of other boy-friendly stuff in addition to the protein shakes! I woudl NOT rely on protein shakes as a regular source of protein and never as a meal replacer! Real foods are best for blue.

If you lift weights and do moderate cardio exercise, you don't have to gain much and what you WILL gain, will be very toned and actually make you look thinner!!
Re fertile CM - some people have not had great luck with Fertile Cm. It has dried some people up, I think because it contains l-arginine. Some people's bodies take l-arg and start making a lot of testosterone with it and since estrogen and testosterone are made of the same raw materials, they've made testosterone at the expense of their estrogen and their CM dried up! I like EPO from AF-O and fish oil all month long for CM, along with wheatgrass and green tea. If you use Fertile CM and you love it, that's great!
Re Fertilaid, it's a good product altho I think it has a lot more Vit. E than I really like, has a couple ingredients like Maca where we don't have much info about them yet, and it's expensive. Men's One a Day 50 plus has everything you need for swaying except carnitine (you can also give your husband l-arg if you have some) plus it's a lot more affordable.

I get alot of my supplements at walmart and what I can't find at walmart or another store I just order through Amazon.com. I usually take 1000mg of fish oil once a day, but it should say on the bottle what you should do. AF-O is the start of your period through Ovulation
hope that helps:)

AF-O means take it from the start of "AF" (meaning, "aunt flo", your period) thru "O" your ovulation. Evening primrose oil (EPO) is not safe to take during the 2WW, altho you can take it all cycle long during months you are not attempting.
Take 500-1000 mg EPO. You must take equal or more fish oil than EPO, so 1000 mg fish oil. If you notice you start bruising more easily, you'll need to cut back on fish oil (and will then need to cut back on the EPO as well, since you have to take equal or greater amounts of fish oil). hope that makes sense.

update us on the Fertile CM if you have the time! I'm trying to see about how many people it works for, and how many it doesn't. :)

I just got it the other day. I actually started taking it today. I'm not sure how it's going to work since I don't have my period back yet..(i just weaned my 15 months old) I'll definitely let you know though. Meanwhile my hubby is refusing to take the one a day 50 plus .. he thinks this whole sway thing is crazy. :( I think he was little offended by the 50+ part. ha-ha

My husband was too (I was going to sway blue but changed my mind and swayed pink instead) and it's still sitting there collecting dust!!! it's too bad because for the money, it's the best supplement for men available!!
Can you get a bottle of normal mens one a day and switcheroo them??

Yea I am thinking about doing that.. I don't understand what the big deal is though. So today I got my . (sorry for TMI) I would have to do some work and try to find out what my cycle will be like again as to when I ovulate..etc. I bought a saliva ovulation test to see if that's going to help me any. Do you have any input on that? I didn't even know such thing existed.. but then again, I didn't know there was such thing as swaying so I can get any help that's out there.

Haha it took me a second to get that! :)
The cool thing about the saliva tests is that it can help you understand a little bit better about how your estrogen gradually rises and how it correlates to your physical symptoms (like amount/texture of CM, cervix texture and position) leading up to O. This can be an invaluable thing to understand - like, you'll be able to learn that on CD 11, your estrogen starts to rise and you start getting a lot of EWCM, etc. The downside is that sometimes, and esp. when we sway, our bodies can do crazy things and may not always do the exact same thing on the exact same day so you have to always keep in the back of your mind that things can change and not to rely TOO much on symptoms always happening in the exact same progression.
I agree, I don't see what the big deal is if something says 50+ on it or not!! :) men.
