View Full Version : If you know your O date and baby gender...

Hey everyone. I am very curious to see how much correlation there is (if any) between the moon sign you O in (ie male or female) and the gender that you end up having. This is quite different to the moon phases of new and full moon, and changes every 2.5 days.
It would be best to use people who have had fairly recent O dates (like 2011) and now know what gender they are having. If we try and remember back many years ago, when we may not have been charting our cycles, the O date is less likely to be spot on.
I don't want to stress anyone out over the moon but thought for those who know their O date and their gender outcome, I can look up what the moon sign was for their conception. (I will assume the O date is the same date as conception as you would expect them to happen close together and it is the most reliable date we tend to know).
So if you would like to join in, I just need to know 3 things:
1) Your O date
2) Where you were living/residing when you O (ie country, city)?
3) What gender has been predicted or did you end up having?
Thanks in advance. Peony x

Hi Kiesse. It was a Pisces (female) moon from Dec 17th at 0623hrs until Dec 19th 2004 at 1052hrs. So not accurate for you with DS1! It was a Leo (male) moon from Sept 8th at 0459hrs until Sept 10th 2007 at 1309hrs, so that was right for DS2. Looks like 50/50 for you so far. It will be a Capricorn (female) moon from the 9th May at 1359hrs until 11th May 2012 at 1702hrs.
Thanks for sharing, and all the best with your sway!

Oh Wow, i must ask you again closer to my time incase my O date is out by a day or 2! Yay, thanks heaps, My DS1 i feel (and im not being horrible here) but i always thought he should of been a girl, he is very feminine, i mean he still likes his trucks and cars, but just reminds me so much of a little girl in some of the things he does compared to his brother, so chalk and cheese, I love him to bits and would never change him for the world, but its hard to say without it coming accross like im saying he is going to be gay, (doesnt bother me later on if he is or not) but do you get what i mean?? man i must sound like a terrible mother!! But what im refering to is the female sign he was concieved in. it matches his personality

My ds was conceived on 16th April 2010 in Adelaide SA.
I O on the 8th of March & hoping we conceived. It was a full moon in virgo which is a girl sign.
Fertilization can take up to 24hrs....so I wonder how accurate it is?

Hi Lassie. The 12th March 2004 was both male and female moons. It was a Scorpio (female) moon until 1557hrs, and then it changed to a Saggitarius (male) moon from 1557hrs onwards.
It will be a Taurus (female) moon from the 25th March at 0843hrs until the 27th at 2143hrs. GL in March! FX for you.

TPBLMB, it was a Taurus (female) moon from the 15th April 2010 at 0824hrs until April 17th at 1537hrs, when it changed to a Gemini (male) moon.
And yes, it was a Virgo (female) moon from March 7th at 1356hrs until March 9th at 1520hrs. You and I are both playing the waiting game now!

Only 7 days until I hopefully get a bfp! How far along are you now? 5 weeks? How are you feeling?

FX for you TPBLMB!! I think waiting is the worst bit. You have to wait for the BFP, and then when it happens, there is more waiting to check you have a healthy baby and see what gender you end up with. The doctors would say I am 5 weeks tomorrow as they go off LMP. I O a bit later than normal (in a boy moon, but close to the change over into a girl moon). Feeling totally fine. Slightly sore boobs but nothing else as yet. I didn't get m/s with my boys, so will see how I go this time. Everyone I know (in Darwin and Perth) is either having or just had boys. Hopefully it's time for that to turn around!

I totally understand what you mean. My DS1 is exactly the same. I can totally take him shopping with me and for Christmas he even wanted a purse. No, not a wallet daddy, I want a purse! Last year (aged 5) he often wore a purple butterfly necklace to school. And he says he'd like a sister (not that he knows about this pregnancy yet) as he plays better with girls. I am just happy he is confident enough to do what he wants. DS2 is as rough as anything. He is more than happy to get in someone's face at preschool and tell them what he thinks. Needless to say, he wants a younger brother! But in saying that DS2 is smitten with babies and is always super gentle with them. He turns into a different child when a baby is around.

I o'd on Aug 3 2011. I live in the US in San Bernardino, CA. I am having a girl. I have tried to look up the sign on 2 different websites for this date and I got 2 different signs, so I am a little confused by what sign it actually was.

Peony, I ovulated on the 13th of Feb but dtd on the 14th of feb at about 7am .... I didnt realise it took 24 hrs for the sperm to fertilize the egg??? I thought it took about 4 hrs for it to get there but what happens then because once one has made it in that 4 hrs wouldnt that mean conception took place for me on the 14th??

I've done several of these and it's always been 50-50 each time. Interestingly, it's not always the same two boys that are "girls", it varies depending on the site.

Yes lobella, it looks like it was both a female and male moon on Aug 3rd 2011, but predominantly a male moon. It was a Virgo (female) moon until 0304hrs and then changed to a Libra (male) moon. Your little girl is due very close to my birthday!

Hey Pinkin. It was a Scorpio (female) moon in Melbourne from Feb 13th at 0901hrs until Feb 15th at 1156hrs, when it changed to a Sagittarius (male) moon. If you O on the 13th and BD on the 14th, I can't see your egg lasting through until the 15th for conception to have occurred after lunchtime on the 15th. You would always expect conception to occur within 24hrs of when you O (if your egg lives that long), not from when you BD. I still think you've got your little girl in there!

I am using lunarium.co.uk AS. It lets you put in the location and adjusts the time zone and then shows you a calendar and times. I only looked at 2011 conceptions on IG as I figured the O date would be more reliable than trying to remember back years before or using your EDD to guess O date, and the results were very interesting. Thought I would have another look at it now I can stop obsessing about TTC!

Hi again. It is a Capricorn (female) moon from May 9th at 1359hrs. It changes to an Aquarius (male) moon on May 11th at 1702hrs. It changes to a Pisces (female) moon on May 13th at 2341hrs. It changes to a Aries (male) moon on May 16th at 0945hrs. That covers all your dates! As you can see, it changes frequently (about every 2.5 days) and we can't control what our bodies will do, so try not to stress out over it. I know you are doing a lot of other things to sway as well, so GL with it all.

with ds1 I havent got a clue. All other pregnancies were conceived in the new moon phase under a female sign. As you can see from my siggy, I have had a boy and a girl. I dont know what gender I currently carry. So I do not believe heavily in moon signs or phases ;)

Hi Zanacal. The 1st September 2011 had both boy and girl moons. It was a Libra (male) moon from Aug 30th at 1925hrs, until the 1st of September, when it changed to a Scorpio (female) moon at 1944hrs. So happy you got your girl!

Sorry, I feel like I HAVE to be a party pooper and just ask the obvious question - does it REALLY make any sense whatsoever that the hour in which you had intercourse on a particular day could possibly be controlling your baby's gender?? Zana did a kick ass sway and THAT is why she's having a girl.
If these are fun and interesting, no worries, but I have seen people get extremely stressed out and devastated when their "moon signs" don't match up with their attempts. I have seen people go onto and off of birth control pills trying to move their O to the right moon sign. I've seen people TTC too soon trying to fit in the moon phases and skip months they should have TTC even in their late 30's when you really have NO months to waste! I've even seen a person who would only TTC in two months out of the year because of astrology. I just really don't want people to put any stock whatsoever into these signs because stress is an enemy of swaying both for pink and blue.
