Hi everyone,

I came here from In-Gender. Heard from the members there that this forum is much more active.

My son is almost 1 year old. I am trying Hi-Tech for a daughter. I have tried MS/IUI 3 times. All failed.

I am thinking about IVF. Since I am 36, and probably will not produce many eggs, I want to go to Mexico for MS/IVF. My plan is to do monitoring in a clinic close to my house (possibly HRC) and fly to Mexico for MS/IVF.

Does Dr. Potter still answer questions here?

Hi there. He does. Have you had pretesting? I would want to know what kind of success Mexico has had before I went there for treatment. What happens to extra embryos? How did you respond with the IUI cycles?

I missed my day 3 pretesting for the coming IVF cycle. I responded pretty well to Clomid (first time, 5 folicles 1.7, 1.8, 1.8, 2.2, 2.2, second time, 7, third time, 3). I cannot get any information about Mexico, but I have visited the microsort lab there and it looked good.

Thanks everyone! The Microsort purity number I got from my 3rd MS/IUI is 85%. My husband's sperm count after sort is: 500,000. It is a good number, but I still failed. I am trying for a daughter.

My first two IUI were done in Taiwan and the 3rd one is in IMI, Guadalajra, Mexico.

I'm just not that sure about MS. I think it is beyond hard on sperm and possibly damaging. Cycling locally may be less expensive than traveling. Have you priced HRC or Dr Lin?

Yes I talked to Dr. Federick at HRC and Dr. Lin. MS used to be available in Taiwan - I heard it was so effective that the government decided to ban it. MS has been banned in Taiwan since 2009; my doctor was helping me as a personal favor.

NBP you raised an interesting point: I read Green Zelda's blog on in-gender.com and she quoted Dr. Potter saying that it is a mistake for patients to opt out of Microsort (when MS is still available in the US) since MS reduced the chance of non-transfter by 50%. Does the argument change now? MS is bad for sperms and should be skipped?

Hello! Welcome to Gender Dreaming.

Thanks! Taiwan has one of the highest successful rate of IVF in the world. Unfortunately Taiwan does not allow gender selection any more so I have heard some Australians go to Thailand to try gender selection/IVF.

Welcome and good luck!

Thanks! My husband is talking about trying naturally and accept whatever result. He said the whole gender selection thing has driven me crazy in recent months. I am grateful that I can find support here.

I was really frustrated by Dr. F and her nurse today.

Please, please anyone, please give me some advise.

Dr. F scheduled some procedure for me. At first I thought it was sonohysterogram so I agreed to the appointment. The nurse called me today and changed the appointment time and the procedure to hysteroscopy! I heard hysteroscopy is much more invasive.

The nurse could not figure out how to send me an e-mail although I sent her an e-mail first! After she finally got my e-mail address right she gave me the prescription where my name is written wrong. Really unprofessional.

It turns out Doctor F was fine today when I went in. I was about to leave any second; the doctor explained to me the procedure (she could have done that in the e-mail to save my anguish), and the nurse today is a much better nurse (Janet) than the unprofessional one. She gave me the prescription that spelled my name right.

The hystero/mock transfer was fine. Everything looks good down there.

I am still exploring my options...

Has anyone used any of the online products to conceive a baby of there gender? I'm really hoping for a girl and i was doing some research and came across a site called Conceive A Girl (http://www.conceiveagirl.net) and they had a list of products that will apparently - notice the skeptism, help you conceive a girl. My question before i purchase anything is has anyone else used these products?
