With our new insurance primary Drs and specialists are both a $50.00 copayment. My husbands job is I think under 50 employees.
Every time I go to the pediatrician I am so tired of hearing, how high my co-payment is. With this insurance though we do not need a referral for a specialist.
What are some of your copayments? What size company is it and what insurance?
I have oxford and my husband's company is small in NY and $50.00 co payment.
We submit it to flexible spending.
I am find that there are still some insurances out there with $20.00 copays. I only had this like 10 years ago back when I was working.
Each time I tell somebody what my copayment is I get people feeling so bad for me.
Lots of people I know have low co payments but the jobs are mostly city jobs or in a union. My husbands company is not large so there is really no way we would have the lowest co payment. I could have chosen a straight HMO and that co payment would have been $35.00, but I did not want to have to ge a referral each time I needed a specialist.
Plust I picked the higher plan thinking they have have covered HT drugs but they do not. They used to have EBCBS and have ivf drug coverage and everything but did a way with that because they are only giving that insurance to large companies.
