I'm considering a 3 day fast to sway pink, <500 cals for 2 days then the day of O, trying for O+12, does anyone know if this could delay O? Anyone have experience with fasting and changes in cycle? Thanks!

it's important to point out that this is not healthy for most people to do and there is no evidence to show it sways if done in the short term at OV

there IS evidence that fasting (for religious reasons - i.e. during the hours of daylight so still eating enough food overall) results in more girls but that could be due to more MCs of males than because of influencing the gender conceived in the first place

Im a few days from ovulation and yesterday this is what my day looked like-

I had no breakfast.

Lunch- A small salad, diet caff free coke, and salt free pretzels.

Dinner- A veggie burger on low fat bread, with half a slice of reduced fat swiss cheese, lettuce, light mayo, a little ketchup, mustard, and fries.

I was drinking a lot of diet sodas and peppermint tea to keep me going.

calories- 635 "about" I rounded up high on a few things that I actually ate less of. So it's prob less.

sodium- 877 this I also added in extras so it might be less.

protein- 35

fat- 17

I went way over what I normally go on protein yesterday. But I drink a lot in the days leading up ovulation and eat like 2 meals and have a tiny snack. Yesterday it was a handful of salt free pretzels and cranberry juice before bed.

Yes I did the French gender diet with my dd and got her. I had just started the same thing with my next but got pregnant right away and had a boy. I did the IG diet with my last and used replens. Had another boy. Im thinking no matter what I do it will be another boy right now but I gotta at least try.

No, that is not at all necessary and very well may delay ovulation.

No offense meant, but you have also gone for a year and not gotten pg so whether O is delayed or not, you are having a problem. I really really do not advise fasting at ovulation for anyone.

I know this very well may fall on deaf ears but for everyone else who is reading this, THIS IS NOT ENOUGH CALORIES FOR SURVIVAL and is NOT ALLOWED ON LE DIET. not only that but IT IS NOT ENOUGH POTASSIUM AND YOU CAN !!!DIE!!! FROM GETTING TOO LITTLE POTASSIUM. I am sorry to continually call you out on this the last few days, MD but I cannot allow you or anyone to eat so few calories because we do not want to lose you.

The calorie limits for LE Diet are 1500-1800 cals, 40-50 g protein, 25-60 g fat (20-30% of your day's cals from fat) and 2500-3500 mg potassium. This amount of food is necessary for health. Dropping below that will not help your sway because you won't get pg and it may even backfire because your body will raise testosterone if it starts to "think" you are starving and may need to fight for survival.

The only exceptions are people who are very petite and already eat 1500-1800 cals or people who have a lot of weight to lose and plateau at 1500-1800. They can temporarily drop to 1200-1500 but that is the lowest I ever want anyone to go.
