I was just reading through the awesome successful pink sways, and it seems like I have some how missed out on taking calcium/magnesium supps!?
It has def crossed my mind, but I was under the impression that it MAY possibly sway blue or not be a neccessity, so I didnt want to take that chance.
Most, if not all the successful pink sways have cal/mag as part of their sway.
Should I add this in?
My sway includes;
-Diet. Following LE but I'm a little lazy with counting etc. No breakfast and havent had any in months.
-loads of diet coke, CL and equal and some cranberry juice.
-Vitex
-SP
-Baby aspirin (x2 per week)
-zyrtec
-rephresh and possibly sylk or acijel when DTD
-Ions of all sorts
-Cutting out red meat for the next few weeks before attempt.
DH
-going to convince him to take LR just before attempt
-trying to cut back on red meat/eggs etc.... TRYING!
Any opinions is very appreciated :)

I don't think most of the pink sways on this site have calcium??? Some do and some don 't. Zanacal didn't take it and I didn't take it either. Also, every failed blue sway was not even TOUCHING cal-mag and yet still got girls. Calcium just cannot be a magic bullet!!
The misleading thing about the number of pink sways who use calcium is that until I came along a year ago, cal-mag was the only game in town! Eveyrone took it simply because no one had stopped to consider, well, does this even make SENSE?? (I'm not trying to toot my own horn here, people really had not analyzed the data and were just going on faith that it added up.) And even after that, a lot of people just weren't ready to take the no-cal leap with me (and still aren't which is fine!!)
Here is the case against cal-mag. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/610-calcium-conundrum-controversial.html On the last couple pages of the discussion following part 3, nicoler went back to the IG spreadsheet and added up people who took cal-mag vs. people who didn't and found that there were actually more successes among the group that did NOT take the cal-mag - by something like 10%!! We are also getting equal or better success rate to IG, with the LE swayers who are not taking cal-mag. It just can't be the cal-mag.
I had the absolute lowest cal intake I have ever had in my entire existence before I conceived my little pinkie. Whereas I conceived DS 4 taking high dose cal-mag supps and have always drunk/eaten tons of dairy with my other boys.

I'm not taking calcium/mag.
When I reviewed the pink sways I actually thought more failed pink sways had calcium/mag. But that was just an impression I got- I didn't add them up.
I didn't want to drop it at first, but after reading Atomics essay and the studies, I was convinced I shouldn't take it.

Yep, I agree with everything said above, and I'm not taking cal/mag for my pink sway, either. :agree:

Lots of the ladies on this site aren't taking cal/mag. As Atomic said, I didn't take them and conceived a girl :D

I am probably in the minority here but I've been taking CalMag since Jan b/c I was originally following the FGD. I've gradually decreased my dose and will likely drop it my attempt cycle. That's the compromise that makes me feel the most comfortable.
I've read all the studies and posts here too but still on the fence b/c of the success in the FGD/Dutch studies, and it seems to me that while it may not sway at all, it can't hurt. (I know a lot of failed sways have them, but a lot of successful ones do too.) I stress about it when not taking them (maybe raising T in the process) so I feel like I'm doing the best thing for me. I'm only taking about 500mg in Cal though, certainly not the high amount that IG recommends. AND my supps have no added VitD.
I think you should feel completely comfortable with not taking them - it appears to be roughly 50/50 at this point so it looks like it doesn't sway much if at all :) Good luck!

I took them for several months but stopped a few weeks before conceiving. I am almost hoping that dropping them at the end will have signaled my body even more to that "declining maternal condition." I was on the LE diet for 5 months and I hope when I stopped them, my body was like "oh, crap, now we are not even getting calcium or mag?? now we are REALLY going into famine mode!" LOL!!

Thanks all for replies.
Ok, so it does seem like there are still so many of us that arent taking cal/mag - not just me. Phew!
I'm def working on decreasing T levels - esp through destressing, trying to lower PH through diet and taking supps etc but
Im a little worried about the losing weight part. I really dont have a great deal to lose already. Im 46kg and dont particuarly want to be a skeleton haha.
How much weight do I have to lose for it to affect my Levels?

NeedAGirl, that's my thinking too :)
Deux, I think losing just 1-2 kg will be enough - AS says 7-10 lb (3-4 kg) ideally, but at 46kg, I'm not sure if that's a good idea! I am shooting for 10lb (4.5kg), but I am quite a bit heavier than you so I have some wiggle room.
