Welcome to Crazy-ville! Lordy. Lots of my friends on FB are finding out the past few weeks they are having girls after 1-2 boys. It's sent me kinda into panic mode that all the 'girls' are taken!

I know I'm nuts and this is totally a non legit theory, but I just had to share. I have having one of those days in which it's silly to even think I could have a girl. I'm a good boy mom...why am I wanting something different kinda day.

Love you ladies :) Thanks for the vent!

That was happening around me too! But what they have won't change what you will have... That's what I had to remind myself! They have nothing to do with you! You can be one of those people for sure!

So funny how we think this way, like the luck will run out or something!! So not logical. Here's crazy-ville. We adopted a puppy a SHE and I felt like bc she was a she I wouldn't have a she. I have been praying for a girl and feel like saying "this isn't what I meant" and feel like somehow this was how my prayers were being fulfilled. B.O.N.K.E.R.S!!!

Just like the puppies gender has no connection to my baby's gender, your friends babies gender have has no influence on yours!!

and if I conceived this month (and its looking likely) my due date will be really close to yours 12/13!

H&D.....why are you doing a blood test? Do you not POAS or are you doing fertility?

I did a trigger injection which makes hpts positive. Last cycle they were negative by 8dpo, today I am 11 dpo, 12 days after trigger and still positive. I was told it's probably a real positive by this point. I am a bit skeptical but really hoping bc this 2 ww I have not been strict on diet. I was all through sway for months! If it's a bfn I'm gonna be scared to attempt in April.

Yup - I'm definitely a passenger on the train to crazyville too. EVERY time I hear someone else got their girl I think it makes it less likely I'll get mine. Only 3 days until I find out, and I'm a big ball of nerves right now. I literally SCREAMED at my poor two year old for making a big mess in the kitchen this morning. Poor little guy! I felt horrible immediately and gave him a huge cuddle, but it just made me realise what a mom from hell I've been lately.

Literally, you guys, today I was craving almonds and cashews and walnuts. And as I was eating them I thought to myself...OMG, I'm eating NUTS and HE's got NUTS in there! and I friggin' set down the bag! Oy. The Lord really broke the mold when he came up with my brain!

Can't wait to hear BOTH y'alls updates!!!!!

So I've been cheating a bit in the two week wait and afraid it will mess up my sway. What is wrong with me. If I'm pregnant (btw: test was positive again today) the gender is already determined but I'm still thinking it matters.

When I was pg with DS1 we didn't find out the gender. My husband wanted a boy SO bad. All of our friends were having boys and he was convinced that ours had to be a girl because there were too many boys being born. He cried like a baby in the delivery room when he saw his son, it is still one of my favorite memories ever. And here he is with 3 of them now!!

Isn't it funny how our minds think of crazy things like that. We all know that our babies' genders have nothing to do with what anyone else has... but our subconscious is still working overtime trying to figure out odds.

I have a female dog and I call her "my baby girl." Today I caught myself thinking, I need to stop calling her that or else I'll never have a REAL baby girl.

Oh I know what you mean. I am always reading into other people's family mixes as "signs" of what I am going to get... but basically whatever way it goes I read it as a foreboding sign that I am going to get another boy. If they finally get their girl after a run of boys, rather than being reassured that it can happen for people, I see it as another girl is "gone" and my chances have somehow been reduced because we cant all be that lucky. But if they do get another boy I just see it as total confirmation that some of us just keep making boys, and if it happened to them, surely it will happen again to me. Pessimistic much, LOL? It is all insane-making and anxiety provoking, I hope you get your girl!

It's so funny how much we read into completely unrelated things! Of my close group of friends and family there has been no girls in 5 years (there were a couple before then) and lately everyone is having boys. Whilst I have found that great, because I haven't had to be jealous of anyone, and have (nasty to admit) been quite happy when others have got multiple boys so I don't feel like the only reject, it also makes me wonder how I will possibly break the drought and have a girl. No one else can, so I bet I don't either. And if everyone was having girls, I am sure I would be thinking exactly the same thing, that all the girls are taken already.

I have really enjoyed this tread though! It has really made me laugh xx

Thanks for all these replies!!! I can completely understand every WORD of what you ladies say and feel.

Today on FB, 3--THREE girls that have 2 boys already are announcemed they arepregnant with girls. I cried. I never thought I'd feel so emotional about it all, but I do.

Thank you all sooo much!!!!!

I kept thinking of the families I knew who had two boys first and then a girl third to give me hope that if it could happen to them, maybe it could happen to me!! I get worried in the opposite...if I hear about of boys being born, then I worry that I will have to have another boy because it's raining men rofl

If i hear about girls being born or a friend who has boy is finally a girl, then I feel..YESSS there is hope for a boy mom like me ;-)

I was thinking this just today. Many woman in my dd group (on another board) have heard they were having boys and I'm thinking as each one announces they are having a boy my chances decrease I'll get one. Crazy....

I am on that train as well, everyone that I have meet recently that is pregnant or just had a baby has or is having a girl. I actually told my husband that all the little girls are taken and there is no way I can get mine. I know crazy but I feel like if the ratio is 51/49 then if so many girls are being had that I am gonna be the one to even it out. I simply can't wrap my head around the people that I don't know that may be having boys. My husband says its like buying a new car. You never see the one you have until you buy it and then you see them everywhere.

Since I had a miscarriage this month I will now constanly wonder if that was my girl.

Melissalynay...my hubby would totally use that car analogy too! I'm so sorry about your m/c :( I've had 3 and ALWAYS wonder if those were girls. ALWAYS. It doesn't make me more sad to lose them...it just makes me wonder. I'd just like to verify I can produce a vagina :)

I understand, I see that you gotten your BFP with the same EDD as the one I just lost. Congrats and hope this time your DH knocked the balls off.....LOL:wink:
This was my first lost so I will probably always wonder, especially if I have another boy. But with that being said I have heard that most not all miscarriages are boys, so maybe that was my fourth boy and now I will have a girl. Who knows anymore on anything. Luckily my hubby is on board to keep trying until I get a girl. We call it Duggaring it out.....lol But I am sure I will stop at this last one I don't think my nerves can handle anymore.

It's funny - for lack of a much better word - that I'm in the opposite boat right now. All of my friends that are due this year are having boys. 1 had a boy earlier in the year, 2 just had boys (both have a girl first) and 2 more are due with boys. I am literally almost the only the one (with 2 exceptions) out of ALL of my friends/social circle, that doesn't have a boy. It's like the universe is mocking me by making me surrounded by friends that have them.
I too feel like great, now did I miss the "boy" wave again? Because that's what it feels like.

I am so tired of waking up every day feeling like a cement brick in the middle of my chest. I feel like this is just never going to go away until I have a son. And the idea of getting pregnant a 3rd time just chance is scares the living hell out of me. I am nowhere near there right now.

I am in a "boy" wave here and it SUCKS because I obviously missed it! I had 3 friends pg with me, all had 2DD like me, ALL got DS. And another gal with 2DD that DH works with just announced her 3rd is a DS. Unbelievable. Three other friends with PP were expecting their 3rd (loads of people here have 3) and all are having boys. This is where I do wonder about swaying**... I swayed my ... off. Odds are at most those gals with 2DD did timing. And yet they get DS. Not sure why that is.

**I should clarify I believe there is merit to swaying. I don't think it doesn't work at all, I'm just not sure how much of an influence it really does have.

I know FOUR girls that just found out in the last two weeks that they are having girls.. I mean come on!!!!! Then in the past year and half my two sisters had girls, coworker had girl, best friend had girl, other really good friend just had girl, four women in my son's class had girls, a friend's sister had a girl, my brother's wife had a girl, and NOW four other women are preg with girls. How can this even be? When I was preg with son, everyone around me was having boys, so I assumed I would have a girl because "someone HAD to have a girl". So i bet this time around I will be the one that has a boy. It makes me want to rethink getting pregnant. I hate that I am this way, I wish I didn't care.

A bit off topic but my mother in law said, "I hope your body knows what it's doing to make a girl!! It has no practice!" It's like, hello, my body didn't know what it was doing when it constructed Penis #1 either and no one was worried about that going wrong LOL!!!

Here. To add the boy wave here. 2 more people are having boys. I mean COME ON.

Excuse me I am going to go find some wine now to relieve this annoying mood that I am festering in (which for the record I was drinking when I got pregnant with DD2 should anyone need a helping hand of acidification for their sway for a DD).
