Thanks AS!

Lassie, I still haven't got my cycles back properly, as I just finished bfing my 6.5mth old! But, I've got AS working on a plan for me as we speak so that I'm nicely prepped and ready to rock in Dec/Jan! I'm really excited, and I feel oddly calm and confident (almost like its meant to be you know?)

What's your sway plan??

You wont go wrong there, the swaying plan was my best TTC purchase ever :)

My sway plan is:
- Strict LE diet
- Super Super strict on no breakfast and no snacking
- frequent release for 10 days, then DTD on o-4, o-3, o-2, o-1 and o.
- Im taking Vitex, Cranberry, Folate, Peppermint Tea, Zrytec
- Ions (for the fun of it) Rose Crystal bracelet, Ion bracelet, Lavender everything. Little pink babysuit (the one that mum and dad brought me home from hospital in) under pillow

That and lots of hoping :)

Wow, that sounds like a great sway! Ive just been perusing the diet reccommendations and have come up with something I *think* I can do for a few months if necessary! I'm going to do whatever AS tells me to... But I thought I'd have a bit of a looksee at what I may have to actually do..... See what you think?

Breakfast/mid-morning food:
Shake - Sunrider (too lazy to elaborate.. ;) ) with soy milk

Lunch:
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup green beans
.5 cup zucchini
1 cup white rice
Apple (peeled)

Dinner:
1 cup cauliflower
.5 cup white mushrooms
1 cup white rice
Apple peeled

Total cals: 1107
Fat: 14g
Sodium: 447mg
Protein: 41g
Potassium: 821mg
Calcium: 92% RDI

It's a REALLY tough (bland) diet, but the way I see it, it ticks all the boxes, will :fx: get me a girl, and it's not forever!!

I will obviously have to run it by atomic anyways.. ;)

Lassie1982
April 9th, 2012, 11:18 PM
Sadly yes the diet IS bland...and i have only been on it 3 months, I am in awe of the ladies who do it for 6+ months. I'm really starting to struggle, its taking its toll now in more ways then just being bored of the food so I really really hope I get my BFP in May.

But as you said, its not forever, and if it means we get a little bundle of pink at the end of it then its well worth it!

Sounds like you have put that together well, there are a lot of meal suggestions in the TTC girl section, and AS will give you some good suggestions as well.

Oh forgot to mention I am also using rephresh and sylk and DH is taking Liquorice Root .

Yes! Join us! Nz or au, all good!!

I work well with a regime that is *exact* so that I can prepare as well as knowing what I'm eating so I don't have any last minute panic attack freak outs!! Haha. I'd rather eat the same thing all the time (if I'm having to monitor my foods - not normally!) rather than planning out my food daily or per meal! ;) The only thing I'll do extra is iodine and half a tsp of Himalayan pink salt (haha pink...) to up my sodium to the safe range.

So, Kiesse - what's your story?? :hugs:

Thanks for the welcome!
Well my story is...
I have 2 gorgeous wee boys, 6 and nearly 4, i am not with their father anymore. I have a wonderful partner who also has a son. We are wanting a baby to join our two familys to one and it would be nice to have a little girl! He has always wanted a daddys girl and is so good with all our friends who has wee girls. he loves the boys but think it would be3 nice for him. so I am on the LE diet, i got a personalised plan from AS which is great. I have 2 meals a day, and drink diet coke, coffee with equal and couldnt really do the sparkling water, the taste is horrible! thats about me.

That's awesome!! It'd be so perfect for you to have a little girl! So, tell me, how do you feel about the aspartame thing? I'm pretty much not going to include it in my sway (even if Atomic tells me to) cos of the health issues, plus if I have more than one Pepsi Max a day I get headaches... And what do you eat in a day -- I'm struggling to figure out if my general meal plan (above) is going to be too much food all at once, but I'm not keen on putting bad calories into my system just to make the meals smaller, IYKWIM?

Does anyone else have their girls name picked out?? Obviously, mine is Saskia...

For me the aspartame thing is a necessary evil. I'm an absolute sugar holic. Pre swaying I used to put 4 sugars in my hot chocolate and coffee! I was also a constant snacker, I literally mean constant! So the way I get through it is to be drink lots of decaf tea and peppermint tea, which of course I need the aspartame for because I'd rather chew my arm off then drink something unsweetened. Im being super strict in the keeping glucose low, so sugar is not an option. I did get headaches at first, but they passed.
I tell myself it's not forever, with any luck it's only for another 6-8 weeks hopefully I don't do too much damage in that time.
That said I don't think aspartame is needed for the "sway" IYKWIM I thinkit is intended as a sugar replacement and also because it has a slight appetite suppressant for some people.
I think your meal plan sounds good, it doesn't seem like too much too me. There is a handy app called 'iMapMyFitness' which is handy for calculating intake, you can scan barcodes, easily enter quantities, and track at a glance all your minerals and vitamins as well as calories and carbs, protien, everything.
I have the opposite problem to you I think, I need to try and bulk up my meals because I have such a tiny frame that the additional weight loss has left me looking very sickly, so im trying to add some extra empty carbs to avoid losing any more weight.

We have our name picked as well, it's Elise. I so hope we get our little Elise........

So the way I get through it is to be drink lots of decaf tea and peppermint tea, which of course I need the aspartame for because I'd rather chew my arm off then drink something unsweetened.

I am exactly the same! I would have 3-4 sugars in my coffee which i would have 4x daily min! would add sugar to everything, i use the equal tabs now in my coffee usually 3 of these and i have got use to the tast, also went from normal coke to coke zero as i couldnt stand the diet coke but after a couple of weeks on coke zero i have moved to diet coke and now cant stand normal coke! the first week or so of me cutting sugar out was hard as i would get really bad headaches and feel light headed all the time but its just because it was such a huge change, now i am fine and have adapted really well to it.

The food side of things was really hard too, i had a classic boy diet, so now i do not eat until after 12 usually around 12.30 and i have a green salad, (lettuce, cucumber some mushrooms, a tablespoon of low sodium low fat cheese and some lite salad dressing just a little bit) followed by either a lowfat yogurt or skinless apple. then for dinner i do the salad again but add about a cup (no more) of low sodium pasta, maybe a little bit of potato on the side or garlic bread. then sometimes treat myself to a little bit of ice cream. I know this food for a day is within all my ranges so i usually just stick to the same thing each day which doesnt really bother me too much except when the rest of the family have take aways!

I am also taking vitex, saw plametto, baby asprin and folic acid. my partner refuses to sway in any way except for the FR which he is actually quite excited about, any one would think he doesnt get it! I plan on using a lime tampon and also taking zyrtec

Lassie, the name Elise is so pretty! Your diet sounds great! I only need to lose about 9 kilos to get to my lowest adult weight, but I figure that the diet is going to take a lot out of me, so I'll try and get as much nutrition as I can! I'm currently trying to lose the last of the baby weight from ds2, so by the time I'm ready to start swaying hardcore, I should be back to 65kgs and will be able to lose 3 more (or more if it happens that way)... At least that's a good head start in the weight gain department since my body thinks its gotta store EVERYTHING when I'm pregnant!

That's totally fair enough about the aspartame thing. I think there will be days I do drink a Pepsi or something with fake sugar in it just to feel like I'm not missing out. In fact, have you girls heard of skinny cow ice cream cups? They're portioned out at about 120 cals (I think...) and they are SOOO good!!!

I reckon you've both got great sounding diets - not too many unhealthy cals (not at all like some of the diets I've read!!)

*ruby*
April 12th, 2012, 09:56 PM
Skinny cow ice-cream cups are YUM! Will definitely be getting some for an after dinner snack.

As far as swaying goes we'll be doing:

- LE diet for me
- Hopefully vego for DH if not at least cut back on meat
- Vitex, Saw Palmetto, Low Dose Asprin, Cetirizine for me
- Cranberry, Calcium, Mag, Licorice root & sudafed for DH
- Prob frequent release but maybe abstain - depends on what DH agrees to

The main change re diet for me will be going vego as I currently don't eat breakfast and usually don't snack so just more being aware of calories and upping carb intake. I'm about to go shopping to stock up on what I need to start the diet!

Any good snack suggestions? Most of the ones in the other threads are things not available here. I'll def get some low fat yoghurt to take to work..also what about sandwiches, not sure what I can have on them that would be easy to take for lunch?

hopingforsaskia
April 12th, 2012, 10:03 PM
I was thinking those Mission corn tortillas.. they've only got 10mg sodium in them per tortilla!!!!! And I imagine you could put hummus and cucumber in them or something like that to make a really really light snack if you're about to fall over from hunger!

Your sway sounds similar to mine.. I'm not going to make DH take anything that isn't a herb - so sudafed is out! (he wouldn't take a panadol, so getting him to take pseudo is basically impossible... ;) ) We'll be abstaining too, with a 2 day cut off. :)

*ruby*
April 12th, 2012, 11:09 PM
Mine is happy to take anything I ask him too but the no meat thing will def be hard for him so we will just have to see!

The corn tortilla idea sounds yum might have to try that one, thanks.

i've not heard of the skinny cow ice cream! Must check that out - i do love ice cream!

I find sugar free chewing gum helps control my snacking cravings. As does drinking, so i have tons of peppermint tea (but switch to decaf tea during the 2ww)

My lunches are pretty bland and boring, bread with hummus and cucumber, or alfalfa, or some celery and carrot sticks, or leftovers from my equally bland dinner (rice, vermicelli, maybe pasta)

Sounds like we are all aiming for pretty similar sways :)

I keep having times where i think am i really doing enough or have i gone over my limits or just general thinking im missing something! I went a restocked my pantry the other day so i could not be tempted to have something that is a no no! Yesterday i made homemade pizza, i bought the base which im sure would have been in the danger side of limits but i only had not even 1/4 of it so i am thinking thats ok, on the pizza i put, apricot sauce as a base followed by a little mozzeralla, then a little bit of grilled chicken broken up into little bits, a little bit of bacon, a little diced onion, red capsicum, mushroom topped with a little cream cheese (tblsp over whole pizza) and mozzeralla. It turned out sooooo good! i only had a little bit this was mainly for the partner and kids lunch! For dinner i had a salad, Leetuce, mushroom, cucumber hummus, green capsicum and a little low fat dressing. also had 2 diet cokes and 3 coffees with equal and probably about 4 glasses of water, so that was my food diary for yesterday.
Today i had a wrap, well thought it was going to be a wrap until i realised i had no tortilla so what i done was got a lettuce leave and put a little mozeralla chese, cucumer, mushroom topped with hummus (quite liking this hummus) and wrapped it up it was really good so it was a wrap miunus the tortilla! also had a low fat yogurt with 2 strawberries!
Another thing i done for dinner lastnight was home made fancy bread! I am a bread and cheese lover, I used 2 slices of normal white bread, cut the crusts off, then put it under the grill to brown one side, then took it out and put pesto, hummus and a tiny bit of mozeralla cheese on top not even a tea spoon, then put it back under the grill for a few mins, it turned out like a flat bread and was sooo good, not sure what my totals were for any of this but hopefully they were in the ranges!
I am due to ovulate around the 12th of May so its coming up fast, really would like to loose one more KG in this time, any ideas on how to loose it fast???
Any tips at all!
I do need easy meal ideas, the only reason i have had time to do these ones as its the weekend! Normally i leave home at 7.30 to go to work then not get home til 5pm so then its rush rush to get dinner, do kids homework with them, bath etc and they are in bed at 7! so weekday ones are really much needed!
How are you all going with the no meat thing? I have tried to cut it out but need a little each week, so on average i have 2 slices of bacon in total for the week (diced up and put as a topping on things) and one chicken breast a week, made into 4 portions to go on top of a salad or a wrap etc, so its not much and its over a week that i have it. i love my red meat and have a weekness for the local bakerys sausage rolls and mince pies so its been about a month since i have had one! its been sooo hard!
well best be going and do some more housework, my kids stayed with my mum last night, my partner has gone out of town for the day and i am at home all by myself and need to keep busy so i dont sit down and watch movies with popcorn and eat too much food, so my house is looking very clean at the moment, so the outside windows are next on my list and its only 2.30!
sorry for the long borin entry but like i said, gotta try and keep busy!

just sticking my head in to say hi :waves:
has anyone seen the new brown rice crackers (woolworths brand) the sea salt ones are actually pretty good for sodium levels, better than other rice crackers etc.

I also got some salt lamps from Salt Lamps Australia | Himayalan Salt Lamps & Selenite Lamps (http://www.salt-lamps-australia.com) they were super cheap and quick postage. (based in melbs i think?)

Im in tas, where is everyone else based?

I know I'm not TTC a girl...but....cut the carbs and you will drop the weight easy! Most girl mum's I know don't eat many carbs or cheese for that matter. Try Chicken and salads and diet drinks....or veggies that are carb free like zucchini, Cauliflower, cabbage, mushies, green capsicum, squash, etc...

arrrggghhh My Partner is going away on the evening of the 9th of may or early 10th and wont be back until the 12th! I OVULATE ON THE 12th! As he refuses to actually sway and does not beileve in activly trying to have a baby, he does not know that this will be the month that we are actually TTC, he likes to just go along with whatever and doesnt want to know unitl i get a BFP, thats when he wants to be involved with it all as if he knows we are ttc he will have to put up with me talking about it all the time! So he has said, just do it when ya ready, so i am ready and ready, looking forward to suprising him with the test! got a few ideas of how to tell him but BACK ON TRACK, He wont be here when i need hime the most!!!! what to do??? i really dont want to wait another month! eekk

I would do the 3 day cut off and leave it at that. My ds2 was conceived with a 4 day cut off (attempting settles) so you still have a chance of getting pregnant and if you're happy with diet etc.

Kiesse
April 15th, 2012, 11:29 PM
We are meant to be doing FR and was going to BD as soon as i got a pos OPK, do i still have a chance? also what if my O date is a day or two late that means those couple of days are going to completley mess things up. Fingers crossed that AF shows on time or a day early!

Lassie1982
April 16th, 2012, 06:46 AM
Kiesse that sucks!
I'd say either just have tons of bd before DH leaves and hope for the best. OR put it off a month.
It depends on how you feel about swaying and wether you want to try and have a 'perfect as possible' sway. Or wether you want to get pregnant ASAP.

I am having to miss April as DH will be away. We could try and get some attempts in before he goes, but it wouldn't be the perfectly planned and executed sway that I want my sway to be. So as much as I hate pushing things out a month, I'd rather push it out a month and have a sway I am 100% comfortable with then rush it for the sake of a month.

Good luck :luck:

hopingforsaskia
April 16th, 2012, 06:51 PM
I'm in QLD (Brissy). @aussiemum - we're not starting til the end of the year either! It feels like such a long wait! ;)

Oh, and TTC boy-ers are welcome to come and give us TTCgirl advice any time!! :)

As for diet, it confused me heaps too, so that's why I chose a handful of foods that I'd be happy enough to eat and mixed them up for a little variety. For instance, I'm not keen on too much pasta or rice, but I am happy to eat mushies, eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, and salads. So, I thought, one or two serves of rice at lunch (or 1 cup) with some saute'd veggies, and then a mission corn tortilla wrap with hummus and cucumber or the same sort of saute'd veg in a stack with hummus. I will be keeping things very boring so that I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm already on a very low intake diet to get myself used to less food as well as lose some weight prior to my attempt. I have about 7 kgs to lose all up BEFORE I start my sway diet/supps etc. Then hopefully I'll shed a few more and get pregnant!

hopingforsaskia- I'm in Brissie also! :)
Well, I bought this very old school Gender Diet book on Amazon (its from like 1982, lol), and it has a diet plan in it (but like I said, very old school stuff) but it also has the ranges you are meant to stick to for a girl sway:
Sodium- 700-1000mg
Potassium- 2,500- 3,500
Calcium- 1200-1800mg
Magnesium- 200-300mg

What are your thoughts?
I was just excited that there was a legit, published Gender Diet book out there!

Kiesse

Aussiemum! Where about in Bris? I'm in north lakes! :) Those amounts from the book sound similar to Atomic's recommendations. Does it have many meal ideas in it?

Oh and Kiesse, I'm pretty sure hummus has to be limited but it's a pretty good amount... As in maybe a tablespoon with each meal - and it should be low sodium. I'm hoping to make my own in my (brand new) thermomix!

excellent - love cous cous, i was pretty certain it was ok as its one of my foods im having, but wasnt 100%..

April 18th, 2012, 08:19 PM
Haha -- well that's the plan! I want to be so well versed in it all that I'm not even thinking about it anymore!! That way it's zero stress.

Be strong Kiesse!!! It will all be worth it in the end.. imagine getting pregnant with another boy, and then thinking back to that time in the board room where you at that thing that wasn't supposed to be eaten on your strict girl diet.... You'll always wonder if it was something stupid like that that "voided" your sway.. I mean, it wouldn't be, but I would certainly be blaming myself for ever and always... :) So ~ you can do it!!! ;)

I've lost 4 kilos in the last 2 weeks -- I'm so stoked! I'm planning on losing 7 more (to get down to 62kgs) by the time I start my diet in September. Basically, for now, the plan is to get used to much less food, putting much less importance on food itself and eating to "fullness" and losing weight gradually in a more health conscious way (still eating my herbal foods at the moment, but have to stop them before TTC-6 weeks). So I'll try and get the 7 off and then when I start dieting hard core I might lose another couple and then get pregnant.. hopefully.. ;)

Oh, and Tofu is ok -- but it's a soy product and us TTC Pink-ers should limit soy as much as possible cos it sways blue (I think that's right.. that's what Atomic told me) :)

i know but its so hard. i did sneak a sandwich it was white bread had lettuce cheese and ham but took the ham out and it was just a little club size so think that will be ok. also had 3 mini spring rolls but that was all i had for lunch! and i stayed within my daily ranges! so that ok.
hopingforsaskia, how did you manage to loose that much that quick? i need to know your secret! no matter what i do my weight won't go any further below 60kg i was 55 when i got pregnant with my boys. so tips and tricks please and urgent! prepared to do anything!
i am at work on my ph sending this as we have limited internet time on our computers! my manager is away and i am in the can't be bothered

Welcome mum2boys!

Looks like most are planning their sway at the end of the year. Anyone planning sooner?

Sorry to hear about the bad nights sleep :( those nights suck! My ds is 7 and we still have them every now again, the latest thing is growing pains, at least once a month he has a night where he wakes continually.

woohoo!!!!!!!

ummm tips...im no expert but from what i have picked up the most important things are
- NO breakfast NO snacking.
- No stress!! (easier said then done i know)
- Try and stick to your diet as best as possible....

other things you might be including
- DH having a HOT bath before your attempts
- Dont forget your antihistamines / rephresh if you are using them
- Try shallow and avoid big O!
- Many say to jump and dump, but im not doing this.

MOST of all relax :)

Good Luck :luck:

You could include things I did with my GIRL sway
Get a rock salt lamp
Get a negative ion bracelet (I can't find the one I got off Amazon) But Quantum Science is what you want because it is genuine.
With my baths they were always HOT and I rigged the shower head to ****** the water into my bath water for more neg ions. This is also good because it makes your bath hotter longer! I also used lavender soap.
I took Natures Way 400 mg Vitex capsules two in the morning right along with the other supps to avoid that bad headache I got when I began taking it. (found out magnesium helps stop headaches!)
I took Calcium, Magnesium, and B-50 Complex
I BD every two days because DH wasn't trying to help really but do it MORE often if you can manage.
My diet wasn't the greatest at all as far as the 2 girl diets go, but I made sure to drink LOTS of milk and eat yogurt (Activia strawberry and cereal yogurt) and eat as healthy as possible!
And I stopped drinking Coke for over 2 months straight, and drank Crystal Lite since I was a coke addict with my boys.

DH can wear tighty whiteys
Take HOT baths prior to BD
And take the same supplements

With positioning.. recommended the most shallow positions.
Also used SYLK lubricant, and full tube of RepHresh twice in my cycle. One time was even 15 mins after BDing. Note: after I inserted it I brought it out, and I squeezed the tube again and a TON came out.. and I used it as well.

Atomic recommends not to use RepHresh less than 8ish hours before BD and none afterwards. I was scared I screwed up my chances by using it right after.

Hehe. congrats on your BFP!!!!
Well i am taking Vitex, SP and baby asprin.
Eating LE diet, so mainly green salads daily with a little bit of pasta etc. Drinking coffee with Equal tabs, Diet coke, cant stand the sparkling water so just drinking fresh water (rain water as my mum lives in the country and her water tank gets filled by the rain, so fill up bottles from her place!) also using lavender soap, cream and oil on my body. Use lavender air freshner in the loo also have room freshners that automatically go off with lavender, all cleaning products are lavender, have a rose quarts necklace and two rose quartz pieces, one in each side of my bra. very calm, have not really stressed over all this mainly jsut very excited like a little kid waiting for christmas so not sure if that raises test or not! gonna take zyretc the week of ovulation and gonna do FR starting tonight! once a day, then have our attempt either 1 or 2 days before O, havnt decided yet, have got a lime tampon as a back up but still not made up my mind if i am using that yet. planning on doing our attempt with me on top as i then have control, then will lay down for couple of mins before cleaning up! so thats my plan, but any other tips more than welcome, with the old wives tales is it best to DTD in the am or pm? just wanna add in as much as poss, will have the wooden spoon and girly outfit under bed! OMG cant believe its all so close, this is it! THIS IS MY CYCLE!!!!!!!

Also partner always wears briefs during the day as he is a builder so needs it all to stay in the right place! just sleeps naked at night. He is does not believe in swaying so he doesnt really know what im up too! he really wants a girl tho!!!

Thank you! :D I'm very happy. Your sway sounds fantastic to me!!! I don't know about the neg ion thing I just wanted to do ALL I could, and I get arthritis and it seems to keep it at bay too! You could have a bath if you want, it's cleaner fun that way!!!
This will make you laugh.... I read about you laying there a couple mins then cleaning up.
DH forced me to get right up and wash off afterwards... but he never watched me, so I just made it look like I was doing it. Thank goodness I did!!!!
Doing the deed in the AM produces more sperm so I would say that's for a boy sway.
Since you have a DH who's completely willing to help you, I would say go on and get it on like RABBITS bahaha

Oh darn! But you said he wants a baby girl! The way you started that out was hilarious! My hubby is happy right now because I just made him realize that as soon as I stop bleeding, we can go at it whenever, because he sure doesn't have to worry anymore! haha I would not recommend lime tampons. I read about it on another forum.. ladies would put DH sperm under a microscope after wearing the lime tampon and it was so strong it killed ALL the sperm. If I were you I would do Sylk (got mine off of Amazon) if you can as lube and RepHresh pre-filled applicators! That's what I did, and I'm VERY hopeful at this point. Do that and you are set for a great ph! I'm excited for you and your sway. Maintain that excitement and motivation!!!! :D Goodnight!

Yea he wants a baby girl as we i have 2 boys and he has 2 boys, one of his boys we do not have much to do with, I have never even met him and he lives in another country, the mother is a psycho, but the other boy we have every 2nd weekend. so he really wants a girl but does not believe in swaying.
I not doing the whole microscope thing thats way over my head. Sylk raises my ph so not using that and as for aci jel and rephresh i cant get it in my town and dont have a credit card to buy it online, so we sticking with KY as a lube and i had thought about using lime tampon (not a strong one) but one that would just help lower the males that were swimming around in there. I think my biggest thing is not having the big climax! I am terrible as i usually only last a couple of mins! so will have to think horrible thoughts to get me through! lol My partner had his first night of FR lastnight (tmi!) so he slept like a baby, he asked what was wrong with me as i never usually jump him! so again tonight and every other night and maybe some mornings! whoooo roll on 2 weeks!

Kiesse, you're hilarious!! Good luck - your sway sounds amazeballs!! I can't wait to get all prepped and what not. I'm getting my ovacue *hopefully* this week some time... that's the first step, then I'll get all my bits and pieces in a couple of months (or just spread out the purchases over a couple of months!) and be all ready to tear it up in Dec/Jan. If I can wait that long... Every time I think about when I'll start, it gets earlier by a month.. "We'll start in December. Maybe November. I'll start the diet in August, then if October seems right...." hahaha

Congrats Butterfly on your BFP! Sounds like you did your best, so fingers crossed for pink!! :fingers:

What are your thoughts on unsalted peanuts being girl friendly? :)

Kiesse
April 22nd, 2012, 08:36 PM
Apparently from what i have seen online peanuts are acidic forming in the body but then other sites claim the opposite! Sorry i not much help!

Well went to town earlier to do some messages for work and ended up buying a salt rock lamp which i shouldn't of done as this month is tight financially with my youngest and stepsons birthdays! But oh well. Feeling very excited! Day 2 of my cycle.... Only got to get some antihistimines and ky. Been looking at doing some of the old wives tales too so will put a girl outfit under bed and wooden spoon, not sure of the other old wives tales, i know there was something about adding your age or the month and if it was even number baby would be such and such and if it was an odd number it would be the opposite gender, this worked for my boys but can't remember how it was done! If anyone else has some old wives tales i would love to hear them. And i apologise for any spelling mistakes but i am using my ph and predictive text is a pain at times! Have used my internet usage at work for the week and its only lunch time Monday!

So i am hoping that i get a bfp first month as i am only on day 2 and so far done 1 fr for my partner i not sure how i can do 2 weeks. Don't want to have sex until our attempt as i know i will end up having a climax!

Sorry if i offend anyone with what i say, i am a very open person and nothing is really taboo in my conversations but if you need me to tone it down let me know please!

Oh Ladies!! I found a little website (it's dodgy, but seems to be well-meaning.. haha) that lists low sodium foods.. I was particularly interested in the sweet biscuits as I think I'll want, nay, need to add some empty cals to my plan and I wanted to maybe add one biscuit to my dinner, or lunch or something, but I knew that some sweet bickies are quite high in salt (surprise!!) ... anyway, I'll not turn this into an essay, but here's the link:

Low sodim Biscuits and cakes (http://users.tpg.com.au/pschamb/mlsbandc.html)

They point out that anything listed on the site as "low sodium" has an average of 120mg or less per 100g. That's reasonable, considering a biscuit will be far less than 100g... :)

.. on my travels across the google sea I have also managed to locate a VERY low sodium stock..

Buy | The Stock Merchant (http://thestockmerchant.com.au/buy/)

I also think these veggie burgers are a fantastic addition to the menu, with a leafy salad and some low fat yogurt?

Hey Ladies!!!
May I join you all?
I'm Abby from W.A, Mummy of two adorable boys 3 years and 18 months.
We wont be TTC this year however next year we will be. I have just come on here to sort all this swaying out in my head LOL. I rather stress about it now than later hahaha.
Does anyone have the thread to what we CAN eat? I am hoping to go on the LE diet.
Another q ... ( agh the name has gone out of my head) it's a drink the americans have. I know ( well im pretty sure) we don't have it over here. So what can we have instead?
and do we have to use lube ? My partner and I really don't need it but if it helps our sway I am up for it.

Anyways girls I looks forward to talking to you all =D

OMG, The past two days partner has not been home, been working late so have missed 2 days of FR. all good i am due to O on the 7th so still have time, just no more days off. yesterday i didnt take any of my supps as i had left them all at work and it was a public holiday! also didnt have anything to eat til dinner time (naughty i know) but ended up having a cottage pie from the supermarket nearly a WHOLE family sized one, you know the ones that come in a tinfoil pie dish? so one it had red meat (first time i have had it in a couple of months) and second it probably had so much salt and pepper, someone smack my hand! hopefully that wont be enuogh to change anything, have got to be super strict from here on in! only 8 or 9 days till our attemp! so its green salad and yoghurt for me now!
please tell me i am still all good?! someone re assure me and tell me what you would do!

Welcome CherryBlossom!!!! W3ill come back and answer your questions soon, just gotta dash off to a meeting!

Hi Everyone,

Another Aussie mum (Melbourne) to 3 DS (7yrs, almost 4 and our surprise package just turned 1). DH and I are 32. Planning on TTC NO 4 late this year / early next year. Unsure as to whether we will sway or go HT (which would be a one off). Reading on here I want to try NOW but we are moving house soon and too many birthdays already feb - apr.

A couple of quick things re swaying if anyone could please help.

- With a BMI of 20-21 (unsure of my exact height) would I still need to loose more weight?
I would have to be super strict and would prob only loose 2-3kg max! I actually weigh less than I did when I got married pre-kids and at gym etc.

- How long prior to TTC do you need to do sway plan for?
From what I know I'd say my diet is naturally more girl now (def boy before) but dont know how long I could be strict and keep it up for.

I fall pregnant VERY easy but have also had 3 x MC (preg #1,#2 & #5).

MC #3 was conceived on day 26 of my 31 day cycle (which is very regular) as were using timing as contraceptive at the time so not sure if Im one of those that ovulates more than once and hence the MC?

I have to read more on timing of DTD....

I'm scared to go HT and not be successful and then worry about all that wasted $$$ and what could have been and then Id sway anyway and who knows.......

This will be our last pregnancy :(

Any thoughts or comments??

Good luck to everyone xx

Willtherebe4,
I think they say its best to be on the diet about 3 months or at least 6 weeks before attempt. I don't think it matters if
you don't lose a lot of weight.
You said you have a lot of birthdays Feb to Apr there are a lot more boys born in the warmer months of the year you could try planning 4 to be born in winter, that's what Im going to try. Im from Tas and Ive noticed mostly boys born in summer and girls in winter.

That's what Ill be trying to do when we finally start TTC. Although I am aiming for late autumn early winter.
So we will be starting TTC next august so it gives us a good amount of time. I want it far enough from christmas since my first sons birthday is the 29th of Dec and my partners birthday is the 26th of Dec.

I would think 6 weeks of your diet before your attempt would suffice! :)
I thought an expert posted on this site "at least 6 weeks before attempt" or they said an expert told them, I can't remember.
And I agree with the boy girl temp thing. It goes along with Shettles method.
DS#1 was conceived in a freezing cold basement, in the dead of Winter, and he was born in the hottest month in the year- July! In DH family most boys are born in Summer and girls in Winter and early Spring.

I feel like i have been forever! But its only been about a week..

Wow this post has really taken off :)

Looking forward to our next attempt coming up very soon, CD1 is just around the corner and im feeling really positive about May :)

Hopingforsaskia - love the links, thank you :) Sodium is one of the aspect i am obsessive about!

Hi cherry! Welcome :) There are 2 drinks i know of, there is peppermint tea which is supposed to lower testosterone levels and therefore sway pink. Then there is crystal light, which is like a soda i think? I think it sways because it has aspartame in it (the stuff that in the sweetner 'equal') Aspartame is also meant to help with hunger and combat the snacking craves.
You can have diet coke I think as a substitute?

Kiesse - dont worry about having skipped your supps and having a cheat meal....i know i have certainly done it, and i know lots of successfully sways have had them aswell, its all about the 'overall' supps and diet so im sure you will be fine :) Where are you at now? are in the 2ww? you must be close! i did LOL at your comments about your boss - i sneak onto genderdreaming on my iphone, my boss would be not impressed if he knew...that im using company time to plan something that will ultimately take me away from the company! Its so addictive though!

willtherebe4 - im sure 6 weeks is the recommended time :)

Haha, i have been at work for a whole 31 mins and here i am...only have 20 mins of internet time on my work computer so i find my self writing my posts in a word document and copy and pasting on here to save time! lol, also use my phone but takes ages to load!

I am due to Ovulate on sunday or monday, i cant even tell if its close as i usually have lots of CM and thats how i keep track but am taking antihistimine so its all dried up! yay!
Am still taking supps, have been drinking so much coffee (5 cups a day) with equal tabs, hope this is ok! lol, also have 1 600ml of diet coke and a couple of extra glasses at home in the evenings. am not eating until 12.30 at the very earliest which i found really hard today as my partner cooked up a huge brekky and i just said i wasnt hungry! We had unprotected sex lastnight by accident as lastnight was not an attepmt night, so J&D right after and done a lime tampon for 2 hours just incase, guess it can only but help. Still havent decided if i am gonna do a cut off or BD through O, def having an attempt on friday night and maybe sat morning, what are your girls thoughts?? I bd the day before O with my boys. arrggghhh excitement! this time next week i will be in the 2ww, when i first decided to have another bub May seemed like forever away but its here!!! man. fingers crossed.

kiesse - i think the general consensus on this one is that 'timing doesnt matter' in which case just do whatever your gut tells you to do. If you want to get pregnant faster then certainly DTD through O. As far as i know there are a ton of unsuccessful sways where the gender is opposite to what the timing should have suggested it to be. If its causing you any stress then certainly dont give it another thought just go with the flow and what your gut tells you :)

Well diet and supps been going great were aiming for fr was doing great but missed Friday and Sat last week he never released at all, made him release Sunday nite then he had long bath right after and then had attempt. So attempt was an hour to 1.5 hours after he had released. Had attempt last night but as he was close he decided to change position so it would be shallow but didn't get back inside me quick enough and ended up releasing outside of me. Thought o day was yesterday but had cramping today which i am thinking was o pain and cm was still very ewcm same as yesterday. So now not sure when o occured. Cm and cramping was at 10am today. Checked at 3.30 today and it not as stretchy as this morning. So will have another attempt tonite. Do you think from the sound of all this o was today op yesterday?

Lol. I still here and thank you. Still not going to get hopes up until my blood results come back tomorrow. I have always been very fertile so kinda wasn't a huge surprise that it happened first month. But the next 8 months will go very slow as i will not be finding out gender at scan i like the surprise at the end. Although it would be great to have a girl as dp has 2 boys and i have 2 so this is our 1st together, would be nice to have a little lady but whatever the end result boy or girl i will be thrilled with. I had more of a gender preference with ds2 but this one i can honestly say i will be thrilled either way, would just be icing on the cake if it is a girl as it would not only be our first child together but also the first daughter and sister for our family! Will still have fun guessing until d day tho!

I'm still here :) I am 2dpo and praying this is my month. Made some changes to sway so hoping its paid off. I hate the 2ww, I just want to fast forward to testing day!
How things with everyone else??

Haha Lassie I am exactly the same, I swear the 2ww seems like it takes months to pass, i started testing on about 6dpo and would take 3 tests a day! I took another one tonite, just to make sure that the 2nd line is still there! lol, even tho its going to be confirmed by blood results tomorrow i will preobably still pee on a stick! its always exciting seeing that 2nd line appear even if you already know that it will! I will help you count the days down!!!!!! make sure you let us know when you are going to test!
I have worked out i am due jan 28th or 29th. have always gone early with the others by a week or 2, my mums birthday is the 21st jan and my brothers is the 26th and my ex wedding anniversary (no longer married) is on the 27th id be happy with any date except the 27th! lol

Oh kiesse! It is such a relief to know someone else is a POAS obsessed as me! I'm going to try and be good and not test till 10dpo. I still have a bunch of 10mui tests left.
Normally I start at 6dpo which I know is ridiculous!

Well just an update,
Got my blood tests back and my HCG levels are at 28. They want to test again on Thursday to see if there is an increase. She said its on the low side for 4 weeks but still positive, now im beginning to worry a little bit that it may be a chemical. My tests are not really getting any darker. I have been testing daily and the test from today is no darker than the tests from the other day, is this normal? Can someone please let me know if their HCG levels were around the same and they did go up? Feeling a little down since getting this result, do not want to feel this way for the next few days until my next results.
My boobs are still a little sore (not really bad but are a tiny bit sore when I push them. And still feeling a little queasy but also get slight twinges down below. Hoping its nothing but any advice good or bad is welcome right about now.

I've just read all of this -- kiesse, do you have a second test result yet? I'm crossing everything for you! :)

Lassie -- what did you change with your sway? Have you started to test yet?

I'm still in the pre sway phase.. I'm going to go a little bit more solidly on my diet for weightloss, as I seem to have stalled. So I have to get my ass into gear.. ;) I'm looking forward to starting my sway for real though -- only 3 more months.. Haha

Things i changed were
- NO temping or charting - to remove the stress factor
- No Sylk
- Less Rephresh
- Less zrytec
- No hot baths for DH

doesn't look like its paid off though :( Im at 10dpo, and tested this morning with a frer and a 10mui this morning and got a BFN. I know 10DPO is early, but with a frer and a 10mui it leaves it a very slim chance that i am pregnant.
Was so certain that May was our month.
Its our 4th attempt and DH doesn't want to sway anymore, he just wants a baby.
So he won't do the FR and he won't do take LR :(
So i have to hope that diet and vitex alone will be enough to sway.

Only 3 months to go! Thats exciting :) almost there!

Hey ladies.... We need to get this post back up and running!
I got my 3rd beta back on monday night, its went from 28 to 101 to 498, the Doctor is happy with that and said its following the just below average line. so im due jan 29th!

Have morning sickness but it doesnt start until around 3pm! lasts until i finally get to sleep. Boobs are really getting sore, its all the small things you forget about, it takes me back and im thinking what am i doing putting myself through all this again?! Got reminded about afterpains lastnight.....yea forgot about those! I always said they were worse than labour but cant really remember the actual feeling just remeber saying that at the time!
Looking forward to seeing if there are any differences in this pregnancy compared to my others. exciting but scary. My boys are 6 and 4, we have not told them, will wait a while and tell them otherwise it will take forever for them. Want to tell them in a really neat way but not sure how. have told my dad and my mum, DP is yet to tell his parents. We need to tell them as i start showing right away and would rather it came from us before someone else.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

Kiesse, that's awesome news! Huge congrats again -- do happy all is well!! :)

Lassie :( it's not over yet! I'm sorry to hear DH is getting impatient. It's hard to get month after month of BFN's. But maybe instead of fr try a 7 day abstain or something? Feign sickness and avoid.. Haha!! And maybe you could crush up the LR into his food at night... ;) just kidding.. Maybe it's a good thing if he stops swaying and you remain firm with diet and supps -- I'm pretty sure atomic would tell you to do that anyways if it's all taking a bit long. She is always saying that what you do sways more than what he does. Especially when it comes to ttc dg's. I'm going to send pink dust and bfp dust to you anyway.. :) (((((hugs)))))

Bythe******.. That sounds AMAZEBALLS! Wowee!

I'm going to start diet and supps in august/September - depending on my cycle obviously - as if we were trying, but will still wait til nov/dec to actually attempt. I need to lose a few kilos (about 10-12 all up) and I think the easiest way is to start the diet earlier than I would normally. I'll also do the supps so that we're rip roaring and ready to go. I'm starting to get excited actually.. :)

I plan to start TTC in August, Im just starting the diet now. Im getting used to what I can and can't eat and stay within the limits. Im finding its good to start early and not stress to much if I go over, get my body used to it slowly otherwise I think ill do too many cheats. Also I don't have a whole lot of weight to lose so I don't want to lose it too early. I can always restrict more closer if I don't lose any.

Congratulations Kiesse I hope you have a pink one :-)

Moving into June may work well for your sway Lassie, in the southern hemisphere more boys are conceived Mar-May. Im sure next month will be your month and the diet is the most important part I think so as long as you keep that it doesn't matter if you drop other things.

Hmm i have found here in nz that there are more girls born from Dec to April then the boys are born from may to Oct its like 5 to 1 in those months. That is why i decided to wait until now. Lots of girls are born in the summer here. Not sure why. Hope it works for me

Im sure it will Kiesse, are you in the North or South island. I think the closer you are to the equator the less it matters. And there are plenty of opposites born in those months. I live in Tasmania so we are a fair way from the equator I've noticed more girls born in winter and boys in summer but also some opposites mostly people who have a live a girl or boy lifestyle. Eg my nieces are both born in summer but my brother in law and his wife were both vegetarian at the time and ate fairly LE.

I am very excited to find other Aussies on here!! I have been researching for a while now and haven't found too many Aussies.... thought I must have been the only one!
Introduction: I am mother of one beautiful DS and have my DS2 in utero.... I'm due the end of July :)
I didn't realise the strength of my want/desire to have a daughter until I found out about DS2. So DH has agreed to attempt a sway 6 months after DS2 is born or whenever I stop breatsfeeding. He has informed me thats it though, so the pressures on... Hence my researching now!
I has been such a struggle understanding or fnding substitutes for all the American brands of food people have recommended, I'm just so happy to have found some fellow Aussies to share and plan with, looking forward to getting to know you all! :bighug:

The more research the better i say!
DOnt worry too much about the LE diet - some people love it - others can't stand it, depends what your body is used to.
For me its not ideal. Im a constant grazer with a very small build so have been struggling with the diet, also had to cut out all the things i love, its left me rather sickly thin, bad skin, hair shedding like crazy - but it will be worth it in the end if i get a bundle of pink :)

This website is honestly the best thing i ever stumbled on, so much information. When you get closer to swaying i would definitely recommend buying one of the personalised sway plans, it takes all the guess work out it and is honestly worth every cent.

I think you and i are the only NSW aussies on here so far (or if there are more then haven't said)
What region are you from? Im rural sydney.

Hi everyone

I'm new here as well and in Perth, WA. We aren't TTC until early next year but I'm researching like mad! This seems to be the best website/service I've come across so far.

I have 2 DS. One aged 5yrs and a 15month old. Love them to bits!! We have decided to have a go at swaying with the next one and see how it goes :D If, after every thing we still have a boy then we will be just as happy. He will have fought his way to be in our lives and will be loved just like his 2 big brothers.

How much are the personalised sway plans? I'm a constant grazer too, even more so since becoming a Mum. I also eat alot of the boy foods.... Love meat, potatoes and tomtatoes so I suppose its no surprise I have 2 DS.
I am on the Central Coast... Love where I live.

Feeling blue,
I'm going to start swaying next year too!

Has anyone on here thought of starting up a secret FB page? I had one with another group and it was fantatsic, so easy to chat and compare notes.

I think from memory it was $75? Well worth it! I would never have worked my way through all the info - the worst of it is that so much that you read on the internet has since been outdated / disproved so its so easy to pick the wrong thing for your sway.

I have found that drinking lots (combination of peppermint tea and diet coke - both sway pink) and eating sugar free chewing gum controls the cravings and keep the hunger reasonably at bay.

How would the Facebook page work?
Nobody in 'real life' knows that we are TTC, let alone swaying - sadly, i think many of the people i know would frown upon it :(
If its a private page does that mean people won't see that we are 'on' the page, and won't see us posting? (you know how its shows your posts, i.e., it will say XYZ posted ABC on 123 wall")
It would be good to have it was something that is genuinely private :)

Secret pages are invisible even in a search! :) it would be completely private with no chance of anyone finding out. Of course we could always give it a code name.. Operation Ladybug or something equally tragic.. ;)

Mrsblue2
June 5th, 2012, 08:26 PM
Yep they are invisible to anyone and everyone.... I joined one with some ladies from America from Baby Centre and it was awesome, it was a place where you could talk openly about swaying or GD and not be judged or asshamed. I totally agree with you Lassie1982, i dont want other people/friends knowing either.
The page I was on got shut down because there were too many people on there, one lady was very opinionated and had one successful sway and felt she knew everything and dominated every conversation then got asked to leave and wasnt too happy then threatened to out everyone - it was all very dramatic :) But i'm sure as Aussie chicks we have a lot more respect for one another :kissy:
It was also a great place to store and share info found relating to swaying.
I can start it up if you like we just need to think of a name  I like Operation lady bug!

Then just private message me your FB name and I'll add you to the group... as its a secret group people can only be added rather than join
What do we think ladies?

Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been around. Been sooo busy with work. Counting down until Jan when I can drop down my days at work, and hopefully leave not long after that to have a baby. I just finished 2 weeks of night shift which was horrible as I find it so hard to sleep during the day. Also now the boys have both been sick, DS2 had a throat infecting last week then ended up with gastro over the weekend and DS1 has it now. I'm scared to eat in case I get it too LOL.

Lassie - No one knows we will be TTC either and def not that we will be actively trying for a girl. The boys are now 4 and 6 so most people have stopped asking assuming we won't be having anymore.

Only six weeks till our attempt! How is everyone going on the diet? Me not so great, I've definitely been struggling with it especially being so tired lately. I haven't been eating breakfast and have cut down on meat but not all together. I also struggle with counting calories. I hate counting calories. I guess I better get my act together and start properly so today is first day of AF and first day strictly on LE diet. I have all my supplements and have been taking them for about 4 weeks so thats a positive I guess. It's getting so exciting, so close.

Is anyone else getting ready to TTC soon?

I'm from Perth and thought i'd introduce myself here..i joined HT since last yr, but after the stress and my desperation to have a girl ( it was starting to take over our life and we hadn't even made any real commitment but the stress of what was to come if we did, was stressful enough)! we took a break for a year and now I am back and am not so gunho about having a girl but happy to have a healthy baby...which we are hoping to be a girl!! (whereas last yr - it had to be a girl or there would be major depression/disappointment) I've been reading all the info on swaying pink and thinking its definately something i should be able to manage and hopefully be successful :)

We are hoping to start ttc around dec this yr so im gathering all my info and hoping to share some great success stories with you all.

Hi girls :-)

I'm another Sheila wanting a Sheila :-)

I'm fortunate to be the mother to DD- 6, DS1 - 4, DS2 - turning 1 in 2 weeks!!! We will be trying for no.4 in about 6-8 weeks.

I'm currently doing the Biggest Loser at my work and hoping to lose another 5-6kgs in these next 5 weeks to get down to my lowest weight (pre-kids) of 58-60kg....I'm hoping this will put me in good sted for DD2.

This is our last baby and DD is desperate for a sister - I know how she feels as I was desperate for a sister growing up and never got one :-( I'd love to give her that gift.

Our darling DS2 was a failed sway - I followed a-genders info loosely - used Sylk, FR, took calcium/cranberry/magnesium, shallow position jump and dump etc - we took over a year to conceive him though so I gave up on a lot of things after 6 months of TTC.

We don't fall easily, DD took over a year, DS1 however was conceived first go so I have hope we can do it again!

This time I am hoping to stick to the LE diet, eats lots of yoghurt/milk, reduce salt, check pH - I am currently searching for a good meter on eBay, use either Acini-Joel or rephresh - I purchased aci jel but have yet to test what it does to my pH, we will do frequent release - DH releasing 2x per day (lucky man!!) and maybe give 0+12 a go if I ever figure it out?!?!??

I'll take calcium, magnesium, frolic acid, vit B, cranberry, vit C - DH will take all of these plus licorice root.

A few questions:
1)What yoghurt do you ladies eat? I just purchased Gippsland Organic plain yoghurt - I checked it has pretty low sodium and apparently 0% potassium - I then just cut up fresh strawberries and put it in. I can't stomach the Greek yoghurt so I read organic is the next best?

2) what sugar free gum do you chew? All the ones I see have stevia/truvia in them which is apparently banned??

3)is hardcore gym exercise allowed? I just joined and am loving the group classes - a lot of cardio/high impact - I'm doing it for weight loss but will probably continue once I'm at my goal as I enjoy it so much :-) don't want to do it if it is boy friendly though!!

I try and compare my girl to my boys in regards to lifestyle etc and don't see much of a difference. With DD I was at Uni and I guess I didn't eat a lot during the day - but I'm sure I ate sufficient when I got home. I did FR with all of them. I have never eaten breakfast. I took a lot more hot baths than showers with DD - nothing else really sticks out to me though??

Anyway I look forward to getting to know you all and learning more

Cheer
Bel :-)

Has anyone heard of konjac noodles, also called slim pasta? I saw them in Coles today and it says they're zero carbs and next to no calories. Although I'm not planning on attempting for another 12 months, I'm trying to get a bit of a plan now before ds2 arrives and we're thrown into chaos!!
Just don't want to get all excited about it only to find it sways blue!!

No it's a perfectly pink food -- in fact, I have a cupboard full of them. They don't fill you up like traditional pasta, so choose your toppings wisely, but they're great (especially cos I stack on the kgs with normal pasta!)

Are you on our fb page? Seriously, it's fantastic!

Hi There!!!,
I'm new to the site and waying for girl in April 2013 next year. I see you took Vitex and I was wondering how long did you take Vitex priar to your attempt?

Hi fellow countrywomen .. Thanks for the location specific threads .. thinking they will be helpful (the idea of calorie/KJ counting / restricting is so so foreign to me - never dieted in my life, generally follow a whole food diet and I have I reckon no more than 5kg to get to lowest adult weight, so figuring it will be a fast and furious sway).
I will PM you on FB hopingforsaskia as it does seem a little quiet in these threads .. I'm thinking there might be some good info circulating in your group.
Looking forward to the journey ahead with all of you

Hi Girls I too am wishing for a :babygirl:, I am an Aussie and I have 3 wonderful :bigboy: (one who was born on Australia day 2011) he really wanted that public holiday. My MIL told me when I went in to labour I picked that day out of all days so I didn't have to pay for any birthday parties I could just tell all the kids to meet at a park holding free snag sizzles. lmao
But any ways I am TTC last week of Jan 13 and am so hoping it doesn't take long to be :pregnant: I am going to get some lunch (low fat crackers with SFA on them) and sit back and read all the posts on this thread.
Good luck to everyone and hopefully talk soon

Hi :bigsmile:I've just joined GD and I thought I would introduce myself I'm from melbourne Australia. I have a gorgeous husband who is probably sick to death of listening to me talk about swaying pink :hair: ( so far he hasnt said much & seems reasonably happy to listen and go along with it all because he knows how important ttc a girl is to me) i have 2 beautiful boys aged 8 & 5, my youngest is going to school in the new year :nails:= me! Haha

I plan to start the " low everything " diet on the 1st of Jan & aim ttc on towards the end of Feb (. 8 weeks on this diet will be a long time for me) I usually eat every 3 hours and eat a lot of egg whites, chicken & red meat. I absolutely love breakfast so skipping breakfast & eliminating meat will be a huge challenge! I'm temping now & using opk I plan to do this for the next 2 months however I'm not sure how accurate this will be as I've just come off the pill after being on it for 1 year. I've ordered crystal light and a ph tester and will DTD with a 3 day cut off. Taking cranberry saw palmetto folic acid hubby taking LR & cranberry .. We plan to abstain (7-10 days) ..

I'm hoping that there other ladies planning ttc pink around the same dates :cheer:

Hello ladies,

My pink sway is underway, with my 1st attempt this April/May!!

Question for you all re food as I am HOPELESS with understanding all the cals, counting and all the rest of it (hence, why I have 2 DS').
Is Mountain bread ok to eat? It's a flat, kind of stiff, very thin wrap bread. It's made of rice flour & wheat.

Thanks & GL to all.

Hi Rainbow Baby,
Yes a private FB group - send friend request to Amy Wouters (she is wearing black and white striped top in photo with a friend) and she can add you (though maybe pop your first name here too so she knows who to look for!)
Once you are on, much chatting happens every day - there is a document listing all the GD names against real ones ...
I only just noticed your signature. I am sorry for the loss of your boy- I can't imagine. There are a few of us in the Aussie contingent looking to conceive a rainbow baby also.

So the info I got back was to try Snuzaid or Unisom (which is diphenhydramine, though they are high dose) or PAedamin Anthistamine Oral Liquid and work out dose by trial and error. Someone else suggested sudafed, though I think I read somewhere here that was not ideal for other reasons??

Hi ladies,

Another Aussie here. I have on beautiful 20 month old DS and we are hoping to complete our family with a DD. I started the diet in December with a hiatus over Xmas/New Year. We will start ttc next month (March). Were planning to start a little later but the diet is killing us! I started my sway with info from IG so my sway is really a mix of the two. Doing LE diet as much as possible but with added dairy plus cal, mag, cranberry, vitex and now saw palmetto supps. Have dropped from 60kg down to 56kg, hoping to go hard this next few weeks and drop another 1 or 2.

I was vegan when I conceived my DS, but aside from not eating dairy/eggs I had a very nutrient dense diet, so thought I'd add in the (low fat) dairy this time in case it does make a difference.

I think they key for us could be hormones. I have noticed my BBT is very low compared to others, but DH's family pretty much get pregnant just by looking at each other! (DS was conceived first month). As for timing, have been tracking my cycles but not having much luck so think I'm just going to have to wing it. Was hoping for a 2/3 day cut off with DH abstaining beforehand. Looks like I will just have to take a pot shot when my Maybe Baby tells me I'm fertile.

What do your sways look like???

Hi another newbie here!
I am a mother of 3 beautiful little boys and I am so desperate to have a little daughter that i've signed up here hoping other members might be able to give me the basics to stick to when ttc a little girl. From what I have gathered from other parenting websites is to up the calcium and magniesium, drink or take cranberry capsules, dtd a few days before ovulation and eat more red meat than white. Am I on the right track?!
I don't think we will be TTC if at all until the end of this year so I have a bit of time up my sleeve to make some notes and get the diet happening at least a month or more before finishing up on the pill.
I think another factor of us not being able to conceive a little girl is because of the fact both hubby and I grew up in families with boys outnumbering girls. so for hubby he grew up with b,b,b and his parents are b,b & G,B
mine is (Lol! here we go) b,b,b,b,g,g,b,g and my parents are b,b,b,b,b my mum has a few sisters and brothers but I cant remember if its equal or more favoured to the girls.
I read somewhere that it's usually the male that determines the sex of bub so if that's the case im screwed! although in saying that one of his brothers dad have a daughter then a son so maybe it's wrong?

Hi! Newbie here as well from Australia :) I have 2 boys and I've been clucky since my youngest was born! This time I would really like a girl. I suffered gender dissapointment with DS2 but he turned out to be the most content baby ever but that urge for a girl has never left.

I've done alot of reading in the last few days and wow! My head is spinning! So I've upped my milk I take (I hate milk so adding choc topping) and I'm not eating potato. I'm going to get some calcium and magnesium supps tomorrow and still researching if I need cranberry supps too.

DH is being very supportive and is willing to take some supps and cut is caffine intake down. We don't drink coffee but do drink coke abit.
The one thing I am going to struggle with is cutting chocolate. I eat alot of it!!

I'm also nervous about TTC again as we are very very fortunate to fall pregnant easy and I know we may only have one chance to get this right. So I've also looked up the Chinese gender predictor charts and they say September or November are girl months. I'm about to stop the pill so I think November might be best to give me a few months to chart my cycle.

Woah what a brain vomit!!! Sorry guys.. Guess I wanted somewhere to write this down and hopefully I don't sound crazy! :)

Hi all,

Another Australian here. However, we are expats and currently live in Zambia n Central Africa and moving to Santiago, Chile in October. We have two beautiful boys (3 and 2 this month!) and are TTC a girl. Our first attempt will be in September. It sounds like most of you are doing the IG diet from the calcium and magnesium talk. I am doing LE with extreme exercise, fingers crossed it works. I highly recommend getting a personalised plan if you haven't already. It really has taken the stress out of everything for me, and clarified a few variations that I need to make as I have PCO.

good luck to you all and I look forward to getting to know you all!

Yes I'm from Perth and starting to sway right now! Ovulation is late next week so I've been exercising like crazy amongst other things. I'm seeing my naturopath this afternoon so she can give me their girl diet which I'll combine with elements I've learned here and IG. They only instruct to diet between the end of AF and O so that sounds easier for me but I've been busy with lots of other sway things already.

Great to meet you!

Hi luvmykiddies & gidgetbeach,, good to see there are still some locals gathering here! Many of us are in late stages of pregnancy and have drifted away from GD. Hi all,

I'm from Sydney and just joined GD a couple of weeks ago. My DP and I are hoping to start trying for a girl in March.

I've been easing myself into the LE diet over the past couple of weeks, but have been finding it difficult, as I'm used to eating throughout the day and eating a pretty hearty breakfast!

Has anyone else started the diet plan yet?

Gidgetbeach
January 22nd, 2014, 08:18 AM
I've seen my naturopath and was a little underwhelmed with just a list of acid forming foods that I'm supposed to have. She also said to stick to it for just two weeks a month as that's healthier and frankly as a health nut, that suits me just fine. Sitting down now to do my colesonline order and write up my meal plan for the week. Mixing LE with acid forming foods. My question to you all is what should I have for breakfast to get me through the one hour of aerobics or running I do 930-1030 each day? In this Perth heat at the moment there is no way I can go without food doing such intense exercise. In terms of diet to diet, I've been losing about a kg a month for 4 months but now I'll step it up a notch, though at 56kg and 1.67cm I don't have much to lose.

Would a smoothie be a good option for breakfast? Say with low-fat milk, yoghurt, mixed berries and maybe a bit of banana and a small handful of nuts or seeds? I think you need some protein before you work out, so this might give you enough to get you through your workout and isn't too bad on the calorie front. Or you could alternate each day with a one-egg omlette or scrambled eggs (although I think we're only meant to eat eggs in moderation).

I find that hunger-wise I can get through the mornings okay, but I feel so energy-depleted and foggy-headed that it makes it difficult to concentrate on work or anything really!

I lost 2kg in the first week I was on the diet, but have put 1kg back on. I'm perplexed, as I feel like I've cut my calorie intake down by about 75%.

I'm currently just under 53kg and 163cm, so probably a similar build and BMI to you, but need to lose a few kilos to get to my lowest adult weight, which is around 47 kilos (or maybe 48, as I dropped to 47 kilos a few years ago after a death in the family and I stopped ovulating for six months).

I'm also usually pretty health-conscious, so am struggling with the idea of lowering our nutrient intake. Before I conceived both my boys, my DP and I followed a very strict naturopath-devised preconception plan that was all about becoming as healthy as possible in preparation for conception, but having read a lot of the info on this and other gender swaying sites, I can see that the plan I was following then was very boy-friendly!

Thanks for your breakfast ideas! I think I'll go with that in rotation with oatmeal as I had plain yoghurt this morning as I hadn't finalised my eating plan and I'm feeling very hungry! As I still wasn't organised I had water crackers with sesame seeds with hommous and cucumber and a coffee. I was going to follow the naturopath plan but as I was so basic I've decided to mix that with LE and perhaps smidgins of IG. Now I'm busy researching and planning.

Killed myself with high impact cardio at the gym, so I can tick that box and after looking at the stats for that in GD I'm really hoping that gets me over the line. I hadn't really done much cardio except for walking up to 4 months ago so I've out in the groundwork with that at least.

I just finished a 4 month detox with my naturopath so I'm in tip top condition, so now I'm just taking folic acid and hoping I can reduce my condition a little. I've been on supplements for 7 years so that would have contributed to my two blues, that and the first was ivf and the second a surprise. As a result of them being babies conceived at ovulation I will do Shettles (read the book and saw a gp who specialises in it). I figure doing the opposite is prob the best thing for me.

Yes giving up the green smoothies and nutrient rich foods is very hard indeed isn't it? I really hope this doesn't take long (not three years and ivf like my first!)

I tried to get some chitosan from the health food shop but the woman working there said I was nuts (when I told her why I wanted it) and then started telling me to read some book she read...anyway I have decided just to use psyllium after her outburst as I have it already. I'll go back in when (hopefully) preggo with a girl and tell her the chitosan worked a treat! But really I won't be going back there again.

Husband is taking OLE as he has off and on during the years - the results (though from small sample) were great in the stats.

Hi everyone, it's nice to meet you all!

Lollylegs, it would be great to get some info on some of the local foods as I'm really struggling to find things in Australia that are suitable for the LE diet. I have pm'd you my email address so look forward to hearing from you.

zara-b I have started easing into the LE diet, mostly doing one day on, one day off at the moment just to get some practice in before I get into the full swing of it. I have been skipping breakfast almost every day though, which is a big change for me, but I'm not ttc until May and don't have a huge amount to lose so I don't want to get into it too early.

Good luck ladies :)

Luvmykiddies you seems very organised indeed! Good work. I have been preparing for over a year but I feel I'm a bit rushed now that o day is looming and I'm not actually prepared at all.

Lollylegs I've pmed you for food ideas - thanks so much.

Just saw gp and my post partum thyroiditis is still quite bad and my levels such that I doubt I'll get preggo this month anyway or for 3 months or so:( have now upped my thyroxin so I hope it works...

Hi luvmykiddies & gidgetbeach,, good to see there are still some locals gathering here! Many of us are in late stages of pregnancy and have drifted away from GD. If you want to get in touch with any of the old gang for local suggestions of foods/supps etc, or just a social chat, you're welcome to join our group on Facebook - just PM me your email address & I can invite you in. Nowhere rivals the beautiful information and resources you'll find here, but you'll usually get support in current timezone on FB!
Good luck with your sways!

Hi, I am new here but I would to be part of the Fb group. Could you pm add me?

Thank you

Hi everyone, I'm new here from NSW Australia starting my first attempt in April and have just started on the LE diet. I am struggling big time! I am a Personal Trainer so this is not how I am used to eating AT ALL. What is everyone here eating? I am struggling with no snacking as I usually eat 6-7x per day with everything on the boy food list.

Hi FitBlonde, I'm from SA. I like to eat regular meals all day long too so it's been a struggle not to snack in between but I am starting to get used to eating in 2-3 meals as I've been pracitising the diet since the start of the year. I've been eating a lot of Yoplait Le Rice, English muffins with jam, crumpets with nimbin cheese and bagels with cream cheese (although I only eat half a bagel at a time as they're pretty big and have a lot of kj and protein). I hope that helps with some ideas on things to eat, I've been struggling but am gradually coming up with a list of things I like and can eat regularly.

Yes I found the diet very hard as well. I did 3 meals a day due to the amount of exercise (60min intense cardio + each day). If I'm not pg this month I will prob do it more loose next month by just doing low salt, 3 small meals of my choice and trying to eat more acid forming foods. Will continue the exercise, dh taking OLE and having my negative ion machine on.

Good luck!

Hi Ladies, first time posting. I've posted this in the Aussie food thread too. have 2 sons & I am trying to sway for a girl. Anyway, I have a bit of a moral dilemma. I’ve heard that anti-depressants all assist with swaying for a girl. I was on antidepressants last year & I still have some left, as well as some prescriptions I can fill. I am considering going back onto the antidepressants to assist with my sway. They didn’t actually work which is why I stopped taking them; that is I felt no different on them. They didn’t cause me to gain or lose any weight, they didn’t affect my sleep, they didn’t change anything. So I am not concerned about any personal side effects however, taking medication for something other than what it is intended for is a bit of a moral dilemma.

What are other’s thoughts?

Welcome PrimalMamma! I just thought I should share with you that I was on a very low dose of anti-depressants (Prozac) before falling pregnant for mild anxiety and I took them until O day, I am pregnant with a baby girl, but can't tell for sure the Prozac had anything to do with it. It is a bit of a moral dilemma but then life is made of choices and no one will judge you for yours, I for instance had Clomid for swaying, a big no no, BUT, I wanted to do all I could. Funny thing is, I had Clomid just one cycle and dropped it and then fell pregnant on the next cycle. No one can really tell if anything will make any difference when it comes to swaying, but we can only do what feels right for us. Good luck with your sway. x

Thank you aidensmum :) I think I will try taking it. Also, does anyone have a list of what my husband should take?

See my hubby takes anti depressants and apparently that sways a lot. He's not on them for swaying purposes only though. Only reason why I'm not taking them are due to weight gain

Hello... Again! Just wondering what other ladies do regarding HUNGER? I normally eat a Paleo diet (hence 2 boys) so this is a really different approach for me, other than I am sticking to gluten free as I am I tolerant. And I am constantly STARVING. Last night after being really "good" all day I ended up smashing an entire (gluten free) Vegetarian pizza from Dominos. Fail. I am just so insanely STARVING.

Hi girls, very new to all this swaying stuff!
With 2 beautiful boys already, We tried the shettles stuff with my last pregnancy and it took 6 months to conceive and ended in an early miscarriage :(

So last month we just didn't bother with any of it and I fell straight away. We had been talking about going to SART in Thailand and then I found out I was pregnant so that went out the window.

I'm pretty nervous not only because I miscarried the last baby, but because I really only want 3 children but I am desperate for a daughter and I have a strong feeling already this will be a 3rd boy.

I guess time will tell!

Hi Longing.for.a.daughter - just saying hello & offering empathy, both for your loss & your nervous wait. I have 2 boys too & desperately want a girl. My husband is happy to try all the natural methods but is uncomfortable with PGD so I am also nervous. He is one of 4 boys & there are only a few girls on both sides of the family. I'm willing to do anything but so scared it won't be enough & we also only want 3 children. I love my sons & will love whomever our next baby is too but every dream I've had for my life has had a little girl in it & I will be heartbroken if I never meet her. Best of luck with your pregnancy.

Wow Primal, our stories couldn't get anymore similar. We had discussed PGD but he hadn't shown much interest in it and was relieved when I got a BFP and the discussion stopped. He is desperate for a daughter too but seems as tho he would be more interested to keep popping kids out until we a girl and I'm not on board with that specially having complicated high risk pregnancies (blood clots with #1 so on blood thinners for all pregnancies) and having csections means max of 4 kids anyway but I only want 3.

I also love my sons but can't shake the overwhelming sense of non-completion without a daughter. If this next one is a boy I'm wondering if once he arrives I will feel complete or if this won't disappear until we do have a daughter. So tough and none of my friends understand as they all have mixed sex's.

When are you due? So nice to be in touch with someone in a very similar situation. Crossing fingers for a pink bundle for you.

Thank you Longing... I'm normally a health nut & eat Paleo so the diet is totally out of my comfort zone! But I guess the fact that I was on essentially a very nutritious HE diet may explain my boys. This LE is definitely different for me! Hopefully it does what I want it to.

Hi PrimalMamma! OMG! I am so hungry too! I also have two boys and wanting a girl desperately.
I'm in Melbourne.
I also eat based around Paleo principles as well as IQS and this goes against everything I usually eat/drink. Hoping I fall preg next month when we start trying again. We started trying in Feb/march this year without success. I lost so much weight that i couldn't go any lower. So I took a break and am now starting again.

Hope you're all doing well girls xo

Hi Chloe sorry haven't been on here for ages! I'm currently sort of in the 2ww, we weren't going to attempt for July but just got a little frisky one night... No idea if the timing is right but I've almost given up on swaying anyway. I couldn't maintain the diet I was too hungry & the lack of protein made me depressed.

Hi Gals,
I just joined today. Looks like this thread has gone quiet. I hope you all come back.
We have 2 beautiful boys and want a girl next as this will be our last. I've been reading on the internet about different diets and I've been trying the high cal/mag, low potass/sodium diet with cranberry, but now reading on this forum all those things have gone out the window and I have to start again, on the LE diet. What lengths we go to to get a girl.
