I can't wait for pics from DM!!http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/mouse-girl/mouse-girl-emoticon-32.gif (http://emoticoner.com)
Z-I think your DS is so cute doing that. At least he is happy for the baby and can't wait. I don't even like to think about telling my girls because I know DD1 will be so angry and upset she don't want us to have more babys.(i think she is selfish maybe think we will ask her to help some) Only DD3 is keep on telling me I have a baby boy in my tummy , but they don't know Im pregnant yet.
So you see you are better off lol

Loved it! ;) There are a few former IG ladies there feigning surprise too.
I'm enjoying the responses too, especially as no one even knew I was pregnant and I'm sure many figured I wouldn't have any more kids since I already have 3.

fantastic news mocha..:)
well, i woke up about 4.30 yesterday morning with mild contractions, 5-7 mins apart, lasing about a minute each.
they werent super painful, but bad enough to keep me awake.
guzzled a heap of water, had a hot shower and changed positions etc, eventually, after about 4 hours they eased up, and totally stopped by the afternoon.
havent had any more today, but have been loosing bits of plug every time i go to the loo, and feeling kinda odd down there, so im guessing there was some dialation going on.
bub is also sitting lower than ever.
i have only ever had one faulse start like that before, and that was with my youngest, on his due date, he was born a week later.
just going to take it easy for the next couple of weeks, im only 10 days away from 37 weeks...:)
if we can keep it in there untill then i will be happy..

Birth story~ Fast version as I'm nursing at the keyboard(NAKing;))
Well, all of you know how discouraged I was at the start and stop cx's I had been having and at 10 days past due I'd really had enough. I was starting to doubt myself and my abilities and I really just wanted to get the show on the road. So after coming on here and reading Butterfly Spirits post about acupuncture...I thought, "Yes! I'm going to give it a shot!"(Thank- you BSpirit!) So I booked myself a 12:30 appt and we all went in to the city~
I had ZERO cx's while she was working on me and I really felt like it wasn't going to work....
We got back in the car and went home. Once home we decided to take the kids down the street to the park. While there I had a few cx's that were stronger than any I'd had up until that point :D I thought MAYBE something was starting. I didn't want them to stop so I decided to keep moving. Hubby and I walked up to the store, 5 mins away, while my mom watched the kids. While up there the cx's got way stronger. I decided to just wait at the front of the store as I had to now breathe through them...and the last thing I wanted to do was give birth on the walk home! LOL!
Once at home(6pm) I relaxed a bit and the cx's slowed a bit and got less intense. My hubby went to store to get a piece for our washing machine that we needed and my mom took my sis out to get groceries. By 6:30pm I decided to call my mom and tell her to hurry up because even though the cx's had spaced apart they were now getting to the point where I had to get on all fours and focus on them. I also called my friend(photog) to come at that point too. My hubby arrived back at the house at 6:30pm and started filling the birth pool. I went and got changed into a sports bra, lit candles, put my birth CD on all the while having cx's in between. My mom arrived back at the house at 7pm and my friend came shortly after. I decided it was time to get into the pool at this point:) My cx's became instantly manageable and the water was so nice on my back:) I had about 3 cx's in the tub before I had to start really breathing through them. By 7:25 I was moaning through them...
My hubby got into the tub at this point and I hit transition around 7:45...when the pukey feeling hit me. For the first time ever, in labour, I didn't actually puke! It was so nice! LOL! I started getting kinda grunty right after and I could feel the baby descend. I kept checking myself to see if I could feel my cervix but it was so far posterior I couldn't feel a thing. I know I start to push around the 7cm mark so this didn't surprise me. Shortly after my hubby climbed into the tub I decided to turn around and face him/hold onto him. It was nice to have his body pressed against mine :HH: Made me feel very safe:) I started really bearing down at this point and I was having intense tail bone pain while pushing. I've never experienced this either! I actually had to push her out...unlike my others who were ejected out! I pushed pretty hard and I knew my waters were still intact so I had a feel and found the bag of waters very close to the entrance. I pushed a few more times with no movement from the head and decided to break my waters to help get her out. I pinched the bag and they broke right away and her head crowned on the next cx. I started to really pant through the next cx as her head slowly emerged from my body.
Once her head was out I had a quick feel of her neck and found cord...I knew there would be cord...just a really good feeling about it being there. I left it alone and grabbed my hubby's hands and brought them down underneath me. He was shocked to feel a head! I don't think he knew it was out yet as I had been very quiet as it came out. I then pushed with the next cx and her body slowly slid out of me while my hubby kept his hands underneath her. She got about half way out and then stopped at her belly! I had to reach down and pull her out of me! LOL
Once she was out, we spun her underneath the water to get the cord unwrapped. I then lifted her out of the water and onto my chest at 8:10pm:HH: It was such a beautiful moment! She was all rosey and pink, alert and looking around at us but a little bit floppy so I started really talking to her and stimulating her. Her cord was still really pulsing so it wasn't too worrying but I wanted to see her start breathing on her own soon. I gave her a few little puffs of air and within a minute after her birth she cried one little cry and started using her lungs :) She then promptly fell asleep on me! LOL! My hubby and I then checked between her legs...my hubby looks shocked and yells, "We have a little girl! You guys have a sister!!" It was such a neat moment!!
Everything went well after that...I've had a great recovery(although sore in the abs from pushing so damn hard and sore from squatting in the pool!) with minimal bleeding:) No tears at all- not even a rug burn! The only issue we have is this little girl is severely tongue tied! We see a LC tomorrow to get it snipped:) It's affected my milk supply and the soreness/blisters is beyond anything I've ever experienced :( I can't wait to get this fixed!
Anyway, that's it! It was an empowering and simple birth:) I feel so incredibly proud of myself and my hubby for having this baby the way we felt we should. He was always so supportive and I appreciate that so much about him :awe:
Thanks for reading!! :HH:

Aww, such a wonderful birth story DM. Thank you so much for sharing!
Dannikins! Sounds like you're going to jump the queue :D Were any of your other babies early?
I'm finally starting to get sorted here. I'm washing all the baby clothes/blankets today, am just about to put my hypnosis CDs on my ipod and even if I don't get my hospital bag packed today I've now bought just about everything and I do have a list!! I also have a plan in place for the children now (DS3's childminder's husband will collet the older boys from school and take them back to their house as our emergency backup plan!). I haven't done any nesting around the house yet but, to be honest, I'm happy to never get round to half the things occuring to me to do over the next couple of weeks!
Has anybody used homeopathy for pregnancy/childbirth before? I have a book called the Gentle Birth Method which goes very overboard on treatments etc. during pregnancy (you'd have to be pretty rich to do everything it recommends!) but I dip in to it for occasional advice and it talks about using Caulophyllum to soften the cervix and to help establish effeient contractions. I was just going to research it some more.
I'm really struggling with walking today - I think I overdid it with lots of walking at the beginning of the week and now I'm paying for it!

I'm getting so excited for all you ladies who are so close! It's going to be a loooong wait for me after you all have your babies.
Question for those of you having a girl after many boys. How soon and how ruthlessly did you get rid of your boy stuff? I have a basement absolutely full to the rim with boy clothes and I'm desperate to free up some space. Obviously there's some stuff that would work for a girl, but much of it is pretty boyish and quite honestly I just want to buy new stuff for this little girl!

Ah what a touching birth story Doulamama, you did a great job! Now I want a water birth even more.
Zanacal I used Caulophyllum with DS1, a small dose once a week starting at 36 weeks if I remember well and from the first real contraction with every contraction 3 globuli. It helped me to get things started with him. I was 41 weeks and that was the last day I was allowed to give birth at home so I cheated and started taking it with every BH. That worked!
I had a very smooth and easy birth (except for the pushing) with home-but it was a home birth as well.
With Ds2 I had two false starts and took Caulophyllum again but the effect wasn´t the same. And that was a painful labour-but it was in the hospital.

Thanks Indira. I decided just to relax at least until my due date. I've never gone too far over before so I don't really need to be getting myself worked up - what is it with turning 37 weeks and suddenly wanting the baby to get a move on, I wasn't even thinking about it at 36 weeks! I'll keep up with my raspberry leaf tea because that's yummy (it's mixed with other stuff and, I suspect, not particularly potent but it tastes good!).
Mocha - I got rid of all my boy stuff when I got home from my 4D scan at 28 weeks :D

Thanks, Z. One of my problems is that I like to sell my old clothes at the twin association used clothing sale that's held twice a year. We just had one two weeks ago, and I sold some things but was afraid to sell too much because I wasn't 100% sure the baby was a girl. I still made $150, though! The next sale is in late September, unfortunately, so I'm not sure I'll be up to tagging, packing and hauling the clothes into the sale (I don't have to stay to sell them, but I do have to deliver them there and pick up the unsold stuff at the end of the day), but if I don't sell them then I'll have to wait until the next April! I'm soooo desperate to get some of this stuff out of my house since I'm fairly sure it's multiplying somehow down in my basement.

Congrats again, DM! That was a wonderful story. And she is just beautiful!
Mocha - congrats on the girl confirmation at your scan! How exciting!
I am over 37 wks now and have been contracting off and on, especially at night. I am getting anxious to have this little one now, and I feel like everything is ready for her (except my house, that's kind of a mess, no nesting so far here! ). But if the past is any indicator, she will be born 39-40 weeks. Time just seems to go by so slowly when you are waiting!
I havent' gotten rid of any boy clothes yet and I'm not sure if I will. I am still thinking about number 4 and don't want to make any final decisions for a couple more years.

Well I had contractions all day tuesday about a hour apart then right at 6:30pm they stopped! And nothing really to write home about since then......I have just decided this little one will be born Tuesday the 8th when the doc induces me....seeing as he is still sitting up near the top of my uterus! Hey ladies.....I am still here and still very prego! Today I have feel like I have a stomach ache....not sure if it is a flu bug or something else. The more the days go by I have just made up my mind that that this baby will come on the 8th....which is fine by me then I don't have to worry about going into labor and having this little guy in the car ride over to the hospital (45min drive)!!

That is a definite advantage princesssarah - we have a similar journey to make! Try and have a relaxing weekend, that gorgeous boy will be here in no time at all :D
How's everybody else?
My bump has definitely dropped - I have a great waddle going on :D I'm pretty much ready for whenever baby decides to make her appearance. I still have some anxiety creeping in every now and again (my eldest keeps going all soppy over me and telling me how much he loves me and that makes me worry about how he would cope if anything happened to me) but I'm trying to stay relaxed and positive and am listening to my hypnosis CDs to try and keep in the right frame of mind. Oh well, must be time for another cup of raspberry leaf tea :D

Thanks Z I am trying to relax as much as I can but also stay busy to pass the time!
And DS#2 is being extra sensitive too! He cried today when I told him that his Auntie might not be able to watch them while I am at the hospital having the baby....he said "who is gonna take care of us then?" He was so upset! And then he cried again when I was getting ready to go to a bridal shower! And I have been getting lots of hugs and kisses and every time I leave the house you would think I was never coming back with all the "I will miss you's" and hugs....I can barely walk down to the laundry with out sad faces and "where are you going's?" So I will be glad when all is said and done and he won't have to worry anymore!

DM, beautiful birth story!! Bet u can't believe she is here!
Z and princess, my ds2 (he's 5) was very clingy, drawing things like me in hosp and writing things like 'mum be ok, not die, operation ok' freaked me out! chatted to him and turns out he was worried about missing me whilst in hosp, wasn't about the op. He's been ok since girls here, no probs and less clingy.
Mocha, woo hoo, a girl for sure!! Love the scan pic. I got rid of boys baby stuff b4 falling pg, as was so sure dh wouldn't agree to a 3rd baby!

I'm not on FB but pictures are the one thing I always wish I was on there for ... so many of my friends put their kiddos pics up and I miss out on them. Booo!
Mocha I'm glad you're finally starting to believe you can get rid of all your boys clothes! After DD2 I gave away ALL of my girl clothing. I was SURE we'd have a boy next, I really was, not even bc of swaying it was just how I felt. And I felt like getting rid of her stuff was like, good luck, KWIM? Anyhow I gave it all to a neighbor who has been dropping it all back by for me as her DD outgrows it  Unfortunately the way I deal best with some of my lingering sadness is shopping so DD3 needs to have about 4 outfit changes a day to keep up with all the clothing
Mochagirl
May 7th, 2012, 01:24 PM
Shopping for ds3 definitely helped with my GD too, though he definitely didn't need anything since with twin big brothers we already had two full boy wardrobes!
I keep thinking how I should be enjoying the pregnancy this time since I know for sure it's my last. I'm in the nice 2nd trimester period where I'm starting to feel baby move, I have a nice little belly, but I don't feel completely run-down yet...and still I find myself being impatient thinking that I just want to meet this little girl. September seems soooo far away.

I bought DS2 a few new things too when I found out he was a boy because I wanted to feel special about having new clothes (his own things) plus they were two different seasons, so that was a good justification

DS2 is my favorite he still takes 3 hr naps and he sleeps from 8pm-8am... DS1 hardly napped and he is always up at 5:30-6am. Also DS2 is a mamas boy so he misses me even if I am in the other room.

Mine were even born the same time of year, so I really had no justification for the extra expense other than to make me feel better. DS3 looks a lot more like me than my other sons (which also helped a lot with my GD), and because he's got gorgeous blue eyes I've always liked to dress him in blue. My twins looked better in colours like brown, red and orange, so most of my baby stuff for them was in those colours. With this pregnancy I kept telling myself that at least this baby will be born in a different season, so I could easily justify buying all new stuff. I'm just happy I can buy some PINK stuff this time!
auroara78
May 8th, 2012, 10:20 AM
Yeah, it's been intoxicing shopping for the pink, I almost get a buzz because for a while there, despite the swaying, I wasn't sure I'd ever be there. I keep finding myself picking up new clothese for DS1 and 2 too while I shop because the boys do need some summer things and it makes me feel like I'm not just going crazy for the girl stuff. Though I have taken a break for now, cuz I wanna see what I get at my shower in August, and then I'm trying to wait for more Fall-ish/Winter things to come in, still a lot of summer clothese atm.

Thanks so much for reading my birth story!! xo It was the perfect birth to end my child bearing stage of life :HH: I've been feeling pretty amazing in the PP stage:) I think it was the placenta smoothie I had right after birth...sorry if I gross anybody out!! LOL! I've also dried the majority of it so I'll be blending it up for capsules in the next day. I'm hoping it'll help keep me stable and happy in the weeks to come. My bleeding basically gone now at 10 days PP. I'm almost ready to jump my husband!! :D

I'm hoping to pop by more often but right now I'm dealing with BAD nursing issues. My kiddo was severely tongue tied at birth and although we had it clipped at 6 days old, she still can't grasp the tongue movement she needs to nurse properly, so my boobs are ravaged and I've gotten mastitis already:( its been a long 4 days.

So sorry you're having such a rough time nursing, dm - as I said on FB I got mastitis when my twins were around that age and it was not fun. My fever was up to 103 and my boobs were on fire.
We had major suck issues with one of my twins - he couldn't suck at all, which meant I had to syringe feed him pumped milk after nursing his brother. At 6 weeks he just suddenly got it - I hope it doesn't take that long for Felina!

DM - I did the same thing with my placenta! I swear that is the CURE for pp depression.... I felt like I was on cloud nine for weeks! I also did the smoothie and capsules. I made them last - took them over a 30-day period. It was great. Will DEFINITELY be doing that again! I was trying to talk all of my friends into doing it and they looked at me like I had 3 heads LOL

Ugh, I'm so sorry you're having feeding issues DM. Felina is lucky that her mummy will stick at it - I'm sure she'll be a little booby monster in no time :D
I'm waking up several times a night every night with a) period type pains b) the need to wee c) desperate for a drink .... and each time I can't get back to sleep again! Occasionally I get such a strong braxton hick that it wakes me up and I wonder for a moment whether my waters have gone or I'm in labour, thought it quickly becomes clear that I'm not! I have a child free day tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to have a little nap to make up for the night time insomnia!! Despite the whinging I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. The baby pops in and out of my pelvis so there are still plenty of opportunities to walk without too much discomfort - when she's down low I look a sorry state though :D

DM I am sorry to hear about your little ones feeding issues. But I am jealous that you have already stopped bleeding:) I am still bleeding. It's not a lot, but enough to wear a pad every day and night.
Z- You are getting so close. How exciting!!!
Mocha- Yes throw away the boy stuff. You are having a girl! Woohoo!
Ingle- I just saw the pics of the twins on facebook. They are so precious.
Princess- I hope everything goes well and you get to meet your little man very soon!
We are doing well. My little one loves to nurse. I feel like she is constantly eating. She has a strong desire to suck even when she is not hungry, but she will not take a pacifier. At night I often have to nurse her lying down in bed because she nurses so long and then I can sleep too. She is doing better with spacing out her feeds a little. Sometimes she will go 3 hours but its usually just 2. I had to take her to the dr yesterday because her eye is oozing yellow stuff. The dr thinks it is a blocked tear duct infection. so now we have to treat it. But they weighed her and she is 7 lbs 13oz. So she is still tiny at under 8 pounds, but she is growing fast. It makes me sad since she is my last.

Lobella- when you have let down, unlatch her and squirt a bunch of bm in her eye. Then massage it in over her tear duct. Do this every time you nurse her. It the the BEST cure for blocked tear duct:) And bum rash...and ear aches...it's magic stuff!!
Thanks for all the love guys:) It's so nice to have such sweet ladies in my life:) xoxo

I think I have been living under a rock--I never heard of placenta smoothies! OMG Z and Princess will having their babies in no time! can't wait to see pics! i posted pics of my sweet girl on FB too if anyone want to see her--she's 9 weeks now and I can't believe how time has flown by! She smiles and coos and is very alert now. Dm sorry about the BF issues, those are the worst I think. Nothing is as frustrating as feeding issues and a new baby. I cried with ds2, ds3 and now my dd with bf issues (ds1 was born knowing how to bf) but it seems that 6 weeks is the magic number when everything including gas issues resolves. After 6 weeks they become booby addicts. Lobella--I too am trying to get her to take a pacifier. I have never had a child take a pacifier before but ds3 sucks his thumb still and I really want this one to take a paci--last night I went and bought a diff type hoping it would work. Anyone have secrets that will help her take a paci? I just want something that will soothe her for car trips, etc. ds1and2 took nothing and I felt like a human pacifier, ds3 sucks his thumb and plays with my hair--but now with a 4th child, I can't always be the human pacifier when I'm running around with errands and homework!

Glitter- both my other two took a paci. My son had health issues and was in and out of the hospital so he took it because it gave him comfort when he couldn't nurse. DD1 did not take one until she was 4 months old and I went back to work. I tried to get her to take one also but she wouldn't. I have tried 2 different kinds for DD2, but she only takes them evey once in a while. I am a human pacifier at the moment:) I go back to work at the end of July so I am hoping she will take one by then or maybe she won't take one until I am back at work. I wish I had some suggestions for you but I am in the same boat.

I agree--I'm not giving up ad will keep offering her one. Sometimes she just cries at the boob cause she doesn't want the milk to come out, she just wants to pacify and it breaks my heart to see her so upset when it lets down like a firehose in her mouth :( she will try sucking her hand too then she gets frustrated cause it wont fit in her mouth!

Occasionally I get such a strong braxton hick that it wakes me up and I wonder for a moment whether my waters have gone or I'm in labour, thought it quickly becomes clear that I'm not!
i have been having the exact same things....word for word!!!
wont be long and our little ones will be here...:)

Well Ladies.......Benjamin Evan entered my life Monday the 7th at 9:42pm! 6lbs 12oz 19 in
Went in for my Dr appt Monday at 1:30 he checked me and I was already at 4 cent. looked at my chart and said "hmmmm...your last labor was only 4 hours..I am gone call the birth center and have you go in now!" All the contraction I had been having all weekend long but never got close together enough to say "hey I am in labor"....well I was in labor! I got to the birth center at 2pm and at 3 the nurse checked me before giving me the pill to ripen the cervix more....and I was almost at 6! And I had a very weird labor....my contractions never got closer than 6 minutes apart! I will try to sit a write it all out in a day or so and share everything with you all! For now enjoy this picture of my handsome little man!

How are the preggo ladies doing?
I'm suddenly so very tired! Probably not helped by the sleepless nights. I have period type pains waking me up throughout the night - but none of them during the day, perhaps it's the way I'm lying! Braxton hicks the whole day through (which reminds me, I've left my raspberry leaf tea stewing for rather a long time and I must rescue it!). I have had no desire to nest around the house which is rather disappointing as I'd hoped I might get some things done! I have a midwife appointment in the morning but I'm sure there'll be nothing exciting to report (we don't do internal examinations here and even if they did I don't think they'd find my cervix it's so high!). I'm going to the hairdressers afterwards and then for a coffee and some shopping so looking forward to that :D

Thanks Ladies......he a wonderful baby....he has such a little voice I can hardly hear when he cries and he only cries when he is hungry or dirty or when we change him! He is such a good baby so far.....with one exception....he is our night owl!:owl: Hopefully we can change that in the weeks to come! The little boys just love him! DS#3 took to him right away but DS#2 was not so sure of this new person in our life.....it took him almost 2 days to finally warn up to him! And DS#1 is acting like he could careless but I have caught him a couple times stoking his head gently or like yesterday I asked him if he wanted to hold him and he said no way! Well about a minute later DS#3 asked me to get him a cookie and I said to DS#1 here hold your brother..I dont want to....I said just for a second while I get your brother cookie....fine.....and as I got DS#3 a cookie I looked over and he was talking to him real quiet. As soon as walked back over DS#1 said here take him! So even though he is acting like he could careless he really does care and is glad he is here...he just is acting like a teenager!

well i have been nesting flat out all week, scrubbed and sorted the entire house, so at least i have all that stuff out of the way, as long as i can keep the kids locked in a cupboard somewhere so they dont trash the place.....
i wake up with the horrible cramps too, and really thirsty, and the last few nights i keep waking up, dripping with sweat, dont know what the hell thats about!!!
im having real trouble getting myself out of bed the last week or so, im just so tired, and have even fallen asleep during the day a few times, and im one of those people who cant sleep during the day for anything...
anyway, almost 37 weeks..:)
so we are just waiting to see when this LO decides to show up.
hoping its not while DH is working away...
he works away 3 days a fortnight, and its a 4 hour drive away.....my labours have all been shorter than that, so if i do go into labour while hes down there, the baby would be born before he even got home....
i have a back up plan in place, my mother and sister only live a few doors down, so if hes away, mum will take me to hospital and my sister will stay with the boys....but id really prefer hubby be there for the birth, especially with it being team green, i want him to be the first to know what it is....and i know my mother wouldnt be able to keep it to herself for 10 seconds....she would have it splattered all over facebook before they cut the cord.....

A new blog post from me!
http://princessamongprinces-1.blogspot.com/2012/05/filled-with-emptiness-no-more.html
And I promise to fill you all in on how this little man arrived as soon as I can think again. He was up all night last night...I got a total of 3 hrs sleep.....I feel like a zombie. I hope he feels better tonight....I think he had a tummy ache last night...he would cry and fuss and want to eat like every hour and cry some more. Daddy and I both are exhausted! I picked up some gripe water and have given him some earlier today and he slept all day with out a problem.....hoping it will help tonight too!

Hope you get some sleep soon! Just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. that's what I kept telling myself. mine was so gassy and I kept changing my diet to eliminate all things that may be making her gassy. Eva is a great sleeper through the night now but does not nap well. I'm lucky if she stays asleep for more than 30 minutes during the day. I'm extremely thankful that she sleeps well at night and sleeps in (til 10:30 this morning)cause I would go insane with not sleeping at night and during the day, but I really don't get much done during the day. She loves to be held and I can't put her down for more than 10 mins before she screams to be picked up and walked around the house. I'm still having issues with my sling. I guess we need more practice with it. the gas will pass soon (sorry for the pun)! give him about 6 weeks--his little digestive tract is developing all that good bacteria and they get so many cramps those first several weeks!
