DOR - Full Chromosome Testing or 5 Probe Testing?

Hello Dr. Potter - I am a 39 year old woman with two children conceived naturally at age 29 and 36. I underwent testing 18 months go and had an undetectable AMH. Two months ago I retested with an AMH of 0.234. My question is that I would love to try IVF with PGD for gender selction and I was wondering if if was ok to test for 5 probes instead of a full chromosome test in hopes of having more (or any) embryos to test ok for implantation?

Also, since I would be travelling from Texas, does my husband have to be there to provide a fresh sperm sample at retrieval time, or could his sample be shipped from a local clinic where I live?

I really do not think I could do donor eggs (maybe donor embryo) and am trying to find the best way to cycle for us. I underwent one IUI using 75 iu of Gonal F and after 13 days of stimmulation I had two folicles at 21 and 22 mm. This cycle I did 100 iu of Follistim and after 7 days of medicine I have one follicle at 15.9 mm. So, I do not think this IUI will be successful, and am strongly considering cycling at your clinic.

    Hello Beans626,

We can do whatever testing you like ut the cost is the same and the only difference is that with 5 probe you are not getting the whole truth.

Either option is fine for your husband.

    Best,

    Dr. P
