    Is the sonohysterogram required?

    Hi Dr Potter

I am 32 and naturally conceived my two sons without difficulty (aged 5 and 2). I am planning to travel from Australia to HRC in July 2015 and am presently undergoing pre-testing. Unfortunately, I live in a small town in Queensland and none of our local medical imaging clinics, IVF clinic or hospital are able to conduct a sonohysterogram. They are only able to conduct the HSG scan. In this instance, I am wondering if it is necessary that this scan is performed as part of my pre-testing and if I could attend for the HSG as an alternative?

    Your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

Have you tried going though GSA? They are supposed to facilitate stuff like this and help you coordinate it all- here is the contact form-

Yes I certainly have been liaising with GSA thanks NBP. Unfortunately, we have not been able to source anyone in my area who can conduct this scan.

    Hello 2Blue,

Yes, using the HSG scan should be just fine.

Safe travels and I look forward to meeting you in July!

    Cheers,
