    IVF and luteal phase defect

    Hi Dr Potter,
I’m very much hoping to come see you next year for gender selection ivf! I’ve had trouble with a short luteal phase in the past, although I conceived two of my three children without medical help. Usually my luteal phase is between 9-11 days, however when I naturally conceived it has lengthened to 12-13 days on its own.
My question is, what does this mean about my egg quality and will ivf be more difficult because of the short luteal phase?
I know you’re a busy man and appreciate any advice you can give!
    Many thanks.

Oh and I should also add my age, if that helps - I’ve just turned 33. Thank you

    Hello,

With IVF I am not concerned about the length of your natural luteal phase as we will be able to control this with progesterone. This will not have affect egg quality or make IVF more difficult. I create specialized protocols based on your individual testing, we will be able to control all aspects of your cycle to optimize the outcome.

    Look forward to meeting you!
