    Double Strollers

I absolutely love my Maclaren strollers ( I have 5) but they only make the side by side doubles which I do not want.

I have narrowed it down to the Sit and Stand which I had about 5 years ago and really only used it for vacations but boy was it heavy. Then I just came across the City select and I think I'm in LOVE Don't think I can justify spending that money on a new one as it would be over $600 with the second seat option but I can probably buy an excellent used one for half the price.

Does anyone have any experience with the newest Sit and Stand or City Select?

Here is the newest Sit and Stand which would cost $170 brand new

    Here is the City Select

The select seems so much lighter than the Sit and Stand and maybe I can get it for half the price?

We have the Contours Options LT, which is very similar to the city select. We had a sit and stand and I HATED it. The steering was awful, it was like driving a bus, and my older son never wanted to stand anyway, so we were always using it as a double stroller.

I wouldn't get a sit and stand if you are small. I'm very small and used to have the joovy sit and stand, it was very heavy to push. The other one looks better IMO.

Thanks, yup you just reminded me how big and bulky the Sit and Stand was, thought maybe it got better!

Some moms recommend the Joovy but I can't stand the straight up angle of the handle bars I am very petite also and it's very awkward ( I tried it at a store a few times)...

    Thanks!

We have the City Select and love it. My boys are 5 and 2 and although I have the 2 seats, I think the 5 year old has used his maybe once. For longer jaunts he just stands on the frame bar between the back wheels with his body between the handle and the seat. No need for the extra ride on scooter thingy! I'm 5'2 and find its size just fine. It handles really nicely and is very sturdy and durable. You will want the heavier child closest to you though - it becomes cumbersome to push when the majority of the weight is at the front of the stroller.

I'm not sure if you'll be transporting this in a vehicle or not - I have a small 2 door hatchback and it fits in the trunk just fine. I like that the seat detaches from the frame as it takes up less trunk storage than other strollers I've had that had the seat stay attached during folding. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be that the stroller frame cannot stand upright on its own when folded but this isn't a huge deal as I keep it in the trunk of my car 95% of the time anyways. I also wish it had a cupholder but that can always be added - I'm just being nitpicky

    Hope this helps!
