  1. I made it to ET and am PUPO!

This morning I went to HRC for my transfer - if there was going to be one! The results from GSN testing come in early on day 5, so there's no way of knowing whether you'll have a transfer before you walk in the door. I then had to wait a while before they brought me back. Dr. Potter came in and told me the results and showed me the photos. To recap, I had 13 eggs retrieved. 8 fertilized normally. 7 were biopsied and the cells sent to GSN. Of the 7, THREE were normal. One XX blast (starting ...
  2. ER and Fert Report

ER (Egg Retrieval) happened yesterday. At 7:30 am DH went to the MS office and provided them a sample for sorting. At 9:00 am I arrived at HRC and within a few minutes they brought me back to the room where they do the retrievals. It's just a small exam room with a bed and very bright lights. I undressed from the waist down and layed down on the bed. My nurse Lori came in to say hello, but her job is just as coordinator and another nurse (JoAnn) prepped me for the retrieval and stayed with ...
  3. How I've felt on all these meds

As soon as I did my first lupron injection I immediately waited for side effects. Waited to feel something. Same thing after I started stims - how would I feel pumping all these meds into my body? So to help out any future cyclers, here's how I've felt:

Birth Control Pills: No real side effects here, but I've taken it in the past and handled it well. Maybe some milld morning queasiness the first week but nothing troublesome.

Lupron: The purpose of starting lupron ...
  4. Almost There

Tomorrow I trigger and ER is scheduled for Tuesday, but let me back up a bit as I'm way behind with my blog posts.

My two local monitoring appointments went well. During the first one (after 5 days of stims) they saw 4 follicles measuring above a 10 and my estradiol was at 356. My clinic said that was good, but they were going to up my meds. I had been at 75 iu Menopur and 225 gonal-f. Now I was going to increase the gonal-f to 300.

Two days later I had my second ...
  5. Baseline Ultrasound and Estrogen Bloodcheck

Yesterday morning I went to a local fertility clinic for my baseline ultrasound and estrogen bloodcheck (so that I can start stims tomorrow if everything checks out!). I was nervous walking in - mostly because I feared bumping into someone I know and I'm a terrible liar! Fortunately I didn't. Everyone at the clinic was very nice and didn't ask any questions about why I was travelling for IVF, why I was doing IVF, etc. I was very thankful for that approach. I never saw an RE - just the lady ...
