    Benign Liver Tumor

Okay, so question: I went in on Friday for an ultrasound because my dr. suspected gallstones. The ultrasound revealed gallstones, but what troubled my primary care doctor was the presence of a liver tumor. The radiologist wrote in his report that it looked benign to him. But I've had a history of cancer, and this is why is so it's so terrifying. Also, on Weds, I had my blood drawn for a liver functions test (it came back perfectly fine) and a general blood counts. All my blood counts/functions looked totally normal.

I've spoken to my private facebook group of moms and two of them have had benign liver tumors, and they said it can happen because of hormones of Birth control and in general pregancies, etc.

So my question is: have any of you went in to look for gallstones and found a benign liver tumor?

I'm going to a specialist on Weds. to make sure it truly is benign. I am concerned and looking for peace of mind.

My sister in law had one and when I looked into it, a lot of people have them, it's apparently a pretty normal thing and some people even think it's a kind of a birthmark - some of us have them from day one (this is the one she had, not sure if it's the same as yours Hemangioma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). A lot of times, primary care physicians panic over things that specialists know better about - I would 100% take the radiologist's opionion and not panic yet until you have more info. The primary care doc wanted to biopsy my SIL's tumor and then the specialist and surgeon were like, the risks of the surgery are way higher, and advised her to just monitor it via ultrasound. Which she did and nothing ever came of it.

that everything is ok. Lillian is looking gorgeous BTW

So the spots are not benign afterall. I got diagnosed with melanoma in my liver, which was what I had in my eye six years ago. They are hopeful that it can be cut off my liver and that I could be fine, but I'll need a PET scan on Wed to make sure the cancer is nowhere else. I feel fine, my blood work is fine, so I am very, very hopeful that it is contained. The two tumors are small in my liver and are on the same side, so that is the good news.

If any of you pray, please pray for me and my family. I would be thrilled to see my kids grow up.
