xxforHubby-Your bump is so cute! And I get you on the love hate with the newborn stage. How exciting that you're almost done!
maximbella-a new house and a new baby, how fun! And very sweet of DH to plan a getaway and I thought mine was sweet when he dug through the trash because I thought I threw away my bank card...and it turned out I did in fact throw it out.
Pbn- I wish our winters were mild. Last year we got 36 inches in a 2-3 day span and everywhere was closed for nearly a week for clean up. Your bump is so cute!
4blue2pink-I believe this is standard for the US in regards to leave but really most places have no maternity leave at all so I'm lucky with the 6 weeks I get. The first week isn't technically "unpaid" but the checks are delayed so I'll still be getting the maternity leave checks a week or 2 after I come back since I heard once you submit the claim that it still takes another week to start seeing the money. We can only get up to 15 days maximum paid vacation/sick time but that's after 4 years with the company. I'm only here just about 2 years so I only get 8 days a year until then and we aren't aloud to carry days over into the following year.
Mommy2apples-good luck!
I have only ever had 4 weeks off so 3 weeks isnt bad.
I can do the same and ask for extra but yes a part of it will be unpaid, they will take away my 4 weeks of vacation time so i will have no vacation for next 12 months which would make me go nuts and i am a productivity based employee so i will be at loss salary wise compared to my male colleagues ( as if i take leaves extra than allowed my yearly productivity in paper looks bad )
So for all the above reasons i am working extra shifts during pregnancy and will free myself 3 weeks of time off and keep my 4 weeks of vacation time as wel

Kat - my maternity leave is only 65% paid I believe. But yes the girls wanted a sister and they're excited. My 5yo puts her ear on my belly all the time and I asked the other night what she was doing and she said "I can hear the baby breathing."
BlueBooties - I do think men should also be allowed paternity leave though as well. If companies did that then it wouldn't look like the women are getting "extra vacation" (because giving birth and sleepless nights are such a treat lol). Dads need to bond too. The US is even worse with that then maternity.

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA...family fun on Sunday, then a busy week w/work meetings...just plain exhausted! Ready for a long holiday weekend coming up & it's also my birthday this Fri, so DH is taking me out for dinner yay!
I had to go back to the last thread to see what I missed!! I missed some big news!!
HUGE congrats Iwant4-this is amazing news, a sweet baby girl!!! Do you have a name yet?? You will have to share any shopping finds!!! AND BTW, you do not look like a hephalump lol.
Pbn-adorable baby & adorable bump!! You're doing an awesome job at staying team green!
Sky-great to hear from you! I've missed you!! My anatomy scan is on the 15th, so right around the same time. Hope you sneak a peek! Can't wait to hear! Hope DH is recovering well & hope DD is enjoying the new school year ❤️
XX-love your gorgeous bump! I know you must be counting down!!!
Mommy-Fx for you!! I will make sure to check in for your update tomorrow, hope the spotting stays light & goes away! You have been so patient, praying this is your time!!!
LMSM-yay, excited for you to get bw, can't wait to hear!!!
Kat-I hope you call & get results!!! I was totally worried that my genetic testing gender results could be wrong, but I think they're supposed to be pretty accurate. The genetic specialist said that he has seen inaccurate results, but it was related to a genetic issue with the baby. He explained something called mosaicism where there are different cells in the baby than the placenta. This can be related to syndromes where there are diff numbers of chromosomes 46/47 XX/XXY. I was thankful to see a very girly nub shot, but will be even happier if they still see girly parts at my anatomy scan coming up. It has been correct for all of my friends & I can think of at least 6 who've had it done.
Max-hope you're managing on bedrest! Did you order the Doppler? Are you still having recent thoughts that a boy could be nice after seeing DH interacting with your family(nephew I think?). I really think you're in the ideal win-win situation!!! Yay for house hunting!! Sooo fun!! We are hoping to buy/build a new house in a year or so. It's fun to look!!
Mommaxo3-It makes total sense for you to have a shower since your kiddos are older & it's like your starting from scratch. Hope someone has one for you!!
Ash-how's your nursery coming along?
Shann-yay for passing the glucose test! Hope the itching stops though!
Momoffour-have you decided on a middle name?

Bluebooties-I'm sorry your maternity leave has to be so short so it doesn't cut into your vacation days! Maybe you'll enjoy your vacation time off even more when baby is a little older & in the fun, playful stages. My DH did get 2 weeks of paternity leave with one of his jobs. It went by really fast though!!

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
