Attachment 22208Attachment 22209Attachment 22210Attachment 22211We named him Thatcher Chase. We aren't really sure why he came so early, although normal for me is 35-36 weeks with my clotting disorder. I had a small placental abruption at 19 weeks so that may have contributed, although my doctor says no. He blames it on extreme stress (in-law problems). When he was born we also found out his umbilical cord was extremely short, so short they couldn't place him on me, not even on my pelvis. He wouldn't reach. If he was born a few weeks later there could have been some major issues from it such as the cord breaking. My labor happened so fast this time too. I went upstairs at midnight to watch TV in bed and shortly after my contractions started. They didn't let up with drinking or changing position so I had my husband take me in under the assumption I'd get meds and go home. When I got there I was already 4.5 cm, past the point of stopping labor. I delivered him at 3:24 am, so just over 3 hours of labor. Big shock! He's now 6 weeks old today.
Pictures at birth and now 6 weeks.
