Diva, I've had the lower back pain and running to the bathroom in the hours before labor with all of mine! Good luck!
Salsa, Darcey looks so cute and relaxed during her bath. Julian hates baths, it's really the only time he ever cries.
Thorz, Hope you are ok after your fall, you poor thing. I know (somewhat) how you feel though. During those weeks in the hospital I was so uncomfortable and it seemed like my pregnancy would drag on forever. I can't imagine going thru the physical pain you have with your hips on top of the normal discomforts of pregnancy plus the frustration of bed rest! 3.5 weeks will fly by though and you will be holding your little Macie
WAG, How are you and Lennon doing? Is your DS3 adjusting better than you thought? Hope you are able to update us soon, it's weird not having you post here lol.
How are all the other new mommies doing?
Julian had his weight check and he's up to 6.14! Finally outgrowing some of his preemie onesies.

DLTAG, I'm so sorry you are having a tough time. I've never had a c section so I don't know of any good advice to ease your fears but maybe some of the other ladies who've had one can chime in. WantingPink's baby girl was also breech and she had a section so perhaps she can offer some of her experience. I know it's really not what you wanted but try to focus on the end result which is a beautiful baby girl. No matter how she enters the world she will be safe in your arms before you know. I'm sure once you see her it won't matter how she got here. I'm not trying to minimize your disappointment but just want to try and offer a positive perspective. HUGS to you!

There's been a lot of pressure on obstetricians from paeds and neonatologists over the last 10 years or so to shift elective sections from 37/38 weeks to more like 39 plus weeks and more and more public hospitals especially have made it policy. It's because the later the section the less likely it is that the baby will have significant breathing issues. Most 38 week elective sections don't have breathing problems of course but a small but significant proportion do and it can require a NICU admission etc.
The downside of course is that you some women go into labour naturally before their scheduled section but those women are done pretty promptly as "emergencies". It also means that your baby is ready to be born!Last edited by Mum to three girls; August 30th, 2013 at 04:24 PM.

PS I cried a bit about needing a section with DD3 but it was OK and still special. By two weeks after I felt pretty back to normal in terms of pain, stitches pulling etc.
WAG that sounds really painful? How could it have happened?
Thorz, your hip problems does put my whinging into perspective. Every pregnancy though I seem to forget the miseries of the last few weeks.Last edited by Mum to three girls; August 30th, 2013 at 04:36 PM.

Just wanted to update quickly that I did indeed go into active labor at 4:20am this morning. Little Evan Christopher was born a bit over 4 hours later at 8:43am in the tub at the hospital. He weighs 8lbs 4oz and measures 21.5 inches. I had a natural birth but it was rough. Threw up three times even at the end during the height of a contraction and the widest part of his noggin also had to be pushed out over two contractions, which took a good 4-5 minutes and left me with a 2nd degree tear. All in all it was a textbook labor and birth but the pain was unbelievably intense. I am SO done, lol. Evan chilled for a few hours before he decided to latch but nursing has been going really well since then! A pleasant change from the other two boys. I haven't slept a wink yet because I am too wired and just can't stop staring at him!
