Confused What "good" is swaying if you're trying to improve egg quality and quantity?

I've done PGD for my last 2 cycles for boys (think EVERYONE knows this by now, lol) and it's pretty much determined that my eggs are full of chromosomal abnormalities. In effort to improve egg quality (and quantity) it seems that I will have to throw swaying out the window to get to the point where my eggs would even stand a chance.

Since we're doing PGD with IVF, would it even matter to even worry about swaying? My concern is definitely with my eggs, but with my luck, I'll end up preggers on my own with girls. While I focus on better eggs, I want to also focus on making sure hubby has great quality swimmers and more boys as well.

I guess swaying wouldn't even matter but I also need to make sure the environment is boy-friendly once they transfer them as well as be sure I'm healthy.

Anyone have any thoughts on best practice? I'm giving myself 6 months to recover and want to try again in October. Of course natural would be awesome, but I'm not that lucky.

Also, everyone swaying seems to be much younger than my 41 years so all of you lucky ladies with age on your side is a huge plus too! There should be an area for us "old mums" to discuss possible options for GD with our "old eggs" working against us. I'm on another forum from the author of "Inconceivable" and most of those women just want a baby no matter what and gender swaying is NEVER mentioned nor do I dare to bring it up, lol.

I do not think you can sway with IVF. All the elements are removed with IVF. For egg quality at 41, I would take DHEA for 16 weeks.

It's better to look back on life and say: "I can't believe I did that" than to look back and say "I wish I did that".

ITA with NBP- they'll take the xy embies anyway, so don't worry about swaying. I think you need to focus on improving egg quality with diet and supps. DHEA is a really good idea. Lots of antioxidants and CoQ10 are good for that also. Wheatgrass is also good. You can do the shots of it or get a "green powder" and make shakes or whatever with it. Good luck!

1)Do not try and sway while going HT. It's a terrible idea. If you have been swaying, that may be partly why your egg quality has suffered because some of the traditional sway tactics for blue (high sodium, low cal and mag) are not good for your eggs or your husband's sperm. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...-going-ht.html

2)The good news is, the stuff you do to boost egg and sperm quality, is coincidentally great for blue and sways blue anyway. So all you need to do, is what it takes to get your body into great condition and you'll help up your odds of success anyway.

    3) There are actually quite a few of us who are over 40 and swaying. One of my best IG friends had a baby boy a couple days before her 42nd birthday after several losses and failed HT rounds. The only thing she did any differently, was yoga!!

4)While I totally understand why you are postponing, I really cannot stress strongly enough that at 41 (and I am 41 myself and will be 42 in one week so I am completely on the same page as you) you do not have the luxury of giving yourself until October to get yourself healthy. Every month that passes by is less and less chance of success, especially success at HT. I really really hope you are able to move up your HT rounds.

That's what I was thinking too. I haven't ever tried to sway since we were doing IVF/PGD and wouldn't need it. When I went through the boy sway, we had pretty much been doing it anyway without even trying to. I've had to tweak a few things to help me get back on track as well.

That's what I was seeing too, and thank you for the links, there are so many great links I've been trying to read them all

I've been looking for a yoga studio around here that specializes in what I need it for. There's very few I am thinking of maybe just getting dvd's instead. I'm also going to start acupuncture. This over 40 life is for the birds, lol. I don't think of myself as 41, but my body thinks different!

Unfortunately I won't be able to until October at the earliest. Hubby is having 2 surgeries back to back and it's not in plans before then. 1 surgery he put off for our last cycle, but he got hurt 2 months ago and has been back and forth to doctors so he can schedule both before August and then will have a minimum of 8 weeks healing and physical therapy.

When I found out the twins didn't develop I started my "regime" (figured couldn't hurt the pregnancy at that point ) and added supplements and total diet change. I found a wheatgrass powder I could tolerate (and 1 I couldn't!!!) but we're growing our own and have juicer. I pretty much live on antioxidant foods and have been stocking up on DHEA for when I need it. I got a huge pill box, lol, and need another. I am trying to get it all from foods but I'd be eating every 5 minutes if that were the case!!! I only shop health foods and everyone in the family is with me Even the 7 year old!! She LOVES having all the fruit and veggies she can stuff in to her face! (we also got her her own vitamins and it's improved her OCD! Go figure!!!) Hubby has become the smoothie master and we've got a counter full of things to mix and match into them. I have noticed an improvement in my skin since starting this and my monthly cycle has finally returned and is as close to normal than it's ever been in years! I've also added in royal jelly/bee pollen. The vitamin stores love me!!!

One of the main things other than being totally healthy is to find a doctor I like. So far, I don't like the ones I've consulted with. There is another clinic an hour from us that my friends my age have used and had great success with. I want to do low stims this time, seems the last "aggressive" cycle made things worse, not better.

Guess I'll stick to being healthy at this point and forget reading about swaying, it just makes me second guess. I'm just freaked out that with all the healthy stuff now I'll end up pregnant on my own, I guess it IS still possible!

Tinks, that sounds great and you guys are well on your way! Being healthy IS a blue sway in almost every way that matters. Keep up the great work and I hope DH recovers super fast from his surgeries! Sending you a dump truck full of my "OMG that old lady is having a baby, dust!"

PS - I'll be 42 in 4 days...this can still happen for you!

Thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! also congrats on your little girl

One thing I have to make sure of, if my doctor will ever call me back, I'm fairly certain I have Hasimoto's Disease. I was diagnosed 14 years ago with it, but at that time I only heard "tumor", "surgery", and "never can have kids again". I wish I was more in tune back then! I know they tossed the word around, so I've gotta go back to my ENT dr. and have a follow up to the thyroidectomy. I might be needing something that I haven't thought of. I know they test my TSH, but not sure if they are testing my T3 and T4.

Hubby is trying to hurry things, he actually made calls this morning while I was sleeping to get his surgeries done asap
