    Mammogram and TTC?

    Hi guys!

Quick question. I had to have an emergency mammogram today. We are ttc and I found a scary frozen pea sized lump that scared the crap out of me!!!!

My ob sent me for a scan immediately

    That was at 2pm today

    AND...of course....today I get my positive OPK 😱

We have not had any sex in several days 4+ and when we did, there was no deposit. Lol

So right now, I’m very confident I’m not pregnant

But I’m unsure if it’s safe to try tonight? Having had a mammogram this afternoon? Radiation and ttc?

    Any feedback?

    Many thanks!!!!

It would not affect you at all. I think it is an excellent idea to get a mammogram before one TTC.

I'd love to answer your question but I really don't know! DH is exposed to radiation daily at work so I asked him how much he's exposed to on a daily basis but it's less than what you'd get from a mammogram (0.004 millisieverts vs 0.4). I did read that it's a much lower dose than say a chest x-ray and that modern mammograms use very little radiation.

Really very unlikely that one little old mammogram could do anything to affect a sway.

    Huge congrats!
