A few days before this was posted, I had ordered a small bottle of 100% Pure Essential Lavender Oil. I had a dream last year about swaying for a girl and I had rubbed a drop of lavender oil on my wrists, so on notion of my dream (silly I know lol), I bought some... And then this was posted. The other day I received the oil in the mail and now I’m not sure what to do with it.
Some people really do believe in it, but to my way of thinking, since boys and girls have been conceived for all of human existence, we ~should~ be able to sway effectively without any of these things. It's totally up to you, after all for all we know "disrupting" hormones may be good for swaying pink, it's just that I personally wouldn't want to use them when pregnant and keep them well away from your sons!
Wowsers how interesting. I used lavendar with DS1 and 2 as i had awful headaches and dont like taking tablets 😖
My friend said its great and yes it helped alot but not good reading this. I’ll deffo avoid this time. Sorry could someone explain what it does in pregnancy that you should avoid?
It interferes with hormones - disrupts them. You need hormones like testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and others at certain levels and able to bond with receptors properly during pregnancy not only to sustain the pregnancy, but also for the baby's development.
I've never believed in essential oils, but in my 3rd trimester I had a few pimples and read that tea tree oil helps with that and started using it because I figured that using something natural would be better than chemicals. Then I read online that tea tree oil has been shown to disrupt labor, so I stopped using it.
That's what people assume, but the thing is, botulism is natural. Strychnine is natural. Ptomaine is natural. Large amounts of salt, sugar, and even water can kill you. Oxygen is one of the harshest, most harmful substances of all.
Medications at least have to be fairly well tested (although of course they get those wrong too) and so it's best to go in distrustful of natural products that are in high concentrations and that you use more oftener than once in a while. :)
