    Old member back with questions.

Hi all, I was a member here a few years ago but couldn't remember my details so I'm back with a new profile.
My story is that I have 4 boys, I only found this place after I was already pregnant with number 4. I ended up leaving the forum as DH wouldn't agree to try yet and it was too depressing seeing everyone falling pregnant.
I so, I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks, 2 years ago now, and since then have had no luck. We are now taking a break due to my mum booking us a holiday for next year and not wanting to have to ask her to cancel because I was due to pop haha.
My question is, when I start the diet and exercise before we being ttc again, is it best to just jump straight in, or can I do it gradually? I think we are looking at 3+ months before we begin ttc, maybe even 6 months, but before an injury I was doing the couch to 5k and wasn't sure if I could go back to that and use that to build up to being about to run 6/7 days for an hour.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome back! So sorry to hear of your loss.

Yes it's fine to start diet and exercise gradually (and in fact that is my preference as I find people are more able to stick with it when they start gradually rather than diving into the deep end!)

3 months or more on diet has gotten best results. What many do is start off by going vegetarian without any cal restrictions or otherwise LE Diet stuff and then when they're 12 weeks out then do the cal restriction and change the % of fat and protein in their diets.

With running, I often see injuries. I suggest doing something that likely WON'T injure you, even just walking has gotten good results.

Thank you! I think I started off too enthusiastically for someone who hasn't don't more than walking in about 15 years hahaha. I strained the ligaments in my knees.
I was considering going veggie so perhaps that's a good place to start.
It's been a really tough week, my niece had a baby and my other nieces mum told me she is pregnant so I'm counting down to when we can try again.
    Thanks for the advice.

Huge hugs - just do what you can do for now. We are all here to listen - we know how hard it gets when everyone is getting what they want or what you want LOL and you're just sitting there thinking "when is it going to be my turn."
