Try to keep in mind there are no magic foods. It's the overall nutrient content of your diet that matters and not specific foods. So you can have tomatoes (there is NO NEED to drop tomatoes, they don't sway blue) within the limits of the day. We usually treat fresh tomatoes like low carb veg (free and unlimited, no need to count them - though if you eat crates a day LOL you might wish to count them) and cooked tomatoes (including salsa or similar preparations with no added fat/protein to them) like high carb veg and count only cals, no protein and fat. If you're having something like spaghetti sauce that has added ingredients like fat in it, you count ALL of that (fat, protein, and calories)
I absolutely ate tomatoes when I got my daughter. I limited them and got my 4th boy, then after seeing several people get girls while still eating tomatoes, I realized that avoiding tomatoes couldn't possibly be doing anything. I ate plenty of both tomatoes and potatoes, but I also followed an LE-type of diet, and got my daughter.
Please just use tomatoes in chili. I can't imagine chili without tomatoes in it being any good at all. They simply can't sway on their own, it makes no biological sense, and cultures that eat lots of tomatoes still have plenty of girls.
