It's interesting DH and I differ big time with this. We are lucky, we are doing fine financially and were able to budget for ivf without dipping into savings, however if we weren't, I was sure I still I wanted/needed to go ht. I would have borrowed/gone into debt for it. DH said if we couldn't have afforded it, there was no way he would have considered it.
Cycle 1 HRC: Amh: 2.74 FSH:26, 14 eggs retrieved, 10 mature, fertilized and biopsied. 5 normals: 3xx and 2xy transferred 1xx HB(bb) on day 5
POAS 5dpt = BFP!!! Beta 1: 10dpt=189 beta 2: 13dpt=815 beta 3: 15dpt=1786. Ultrasound at 6 wks 5 days showed HB of 119.
Ultrasound at 8wks 4 days showed a HB of 173. Materni21 Results at 12 wks 1 day: 98% sure girl and 99% sure baby does not have chromosomal abnormality!!!

It kills me when I think of what we've spent so far (new car anyone???!!!) and now I found out that my employer may be changing insurances (for the better) so I'll have to wait 2 more months b/c FCNE rules when you change insurance, 2 month waiting even if already cycling. UGH! I'm hoping BCBS will cover ICSI that HP wouldn't. HP really ticking me off.
We're budgeting for this again, but 2 in 1 year is very expensive!(DD '89), (DS '92), (DD '99), (DD '05),
(DS '10),(DS '12)(DS '12) (DS x 2 '13)

In our household, only DH works - we have done one cycle at Genesis and used up all our savings! Next step will be borrowing some money from FIL to try second attempt. After that may be it will go on the credit card!!!
Started HT journey in Oct 2012 to balance our family with a
Cycle 1: Genesis, Nov '12, transferred 2 XY hatching blasts, BFN
Cycle 2: Genesis, Mar '13, FET 1 XY early blast, BFN
Cycle 3: HRC, Sept '13, 10 to PGD, 2 abnormal XY, 3 normal XX, No transfer. Absolutely devastated!!!
Cycle 4: Genesis planned FET, Feb '14 BFP, scan at 7 wks shows heartbeat
November 2014 - Our family is complete is here - Thanks to Dr Savvas!

Hubby and I used savings for ours. The way I think about it is like glory--rolling the dice and having another child is a lot more expensive than doing HT. Total cost of one year of preschool for our twins is about the same price as an IVF/PGD cycle around here. The only bummer was we rent and had to use some of our house savings for IVF, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
Loving my wonderful twin DS ('09) and now my beautiful HT DD ('13).
IVF/PGD at HRC in Nov 2012: 23 retrieved, 22 fertilized, 20 to Natera day 5, 18 normals (7 XX). Froze due to risk of OHSS.
FET #1 Jan 2013: transferred 1XX, BFN
FET #2 March 2013: transferred 1XX, BFP!!!
Perfect baby girl born in Nov 2013.

I hope it's OK to post this question here atomic. (I didn't think it really needed a new thread.) For swaying girl with the one-attempt method, do you think there is additional benefit in using a...
