this kinda freaked me out..esply if i have to do all thsi convincing plus saving of money, plus emotional prep, etc....

so then what makes ppl pay all that money and go thru all that procedure?
i know, i heard its like 99 point something percent. but just wondering if there are any updated statistics on successful live baby desired-genders being born? and the opposites? and what clinics have made mistakes (US? abroad?)

It's really not something to spend time worrying about.

With FISH, it's due to human error. That happened on here and the other was from using day 3 CGH which should not be used for GS.

If you use Natera, because of the parental check part where DNA is verified, it won't happen. It won't with FISH either unless there is negligence of some sort.

There are risks to worry about, mostly it not working at all. About a 50% chance of that!!

It's the ONLY way to get a guarantee. That's why we pay "all that money". And no, there's no stats for worst case scenario. It's happened once for FISH and twice for day 3 CGH. The day 3 CGH can be avoided.

Lots of things to worry about but that's not one of them.

I agree witn nbp, after everything you put yourself through, a gender opposite is the last thing on your mind, these cases are VERY rare. Getting pregnant is the most important factor, Savvas told me of 2 cases he knows off at his clinic of gender opposites, this is a very small minority, i really wouldnt worry hun x

okay that helps a lot. yes i am mostly worried about even getting PG at all!! but if i know that there is even a slight chance that id get an opposite...i feel like i might as well just try naturally!!

when you say "50% chance of not working at all"...do you mean 50% chance of not getting PG?

    thanks everyone!

Yes. Your biggest risk is "paying all this money" and coming out of it with no baby.

The opposite issue is there because human beings are a part of the process and when humans are involved, errors can happen. That's life I guess.

It's not something to sit and worry about. If you go through this process, you will quickly realize that most of it is stressful and there are so many other what-ifs along the way, this will quickly take a back seat.

Totally, getting an opposite is the LAST thing I am worried about right now - it really is such a rare thing. Just getting one or two of my desired gender is what I am worried about right now and then having the embryo acutally implant is my next worry. It's funny how I thought the money was going to be a worry at first or getting an opposite, now it's all changed! Good luck to you gizmo!

I have read aboout this happening twice on ingender, once for a singleton pregnancy and once for a twin pregnancy where she got one of the desired gender. I would not worry about it, its very very rare!
