    How many attempts?

Hi ladies I just turned 40 years old in August. We decided to do IVF with PGD in hopes for a baby girl. Our first attempt yielded one normal boy and one normal girl. Obviously we transfer the girl but she didn’t take… We did a second round and came up with one normal boy out of eight frozen embryos… Devastated. Not quite sure what to do next. For those of you that have gone this route. How many attempts did you cycle? I’m just not sure I can produce normal girls?

We have an amazing son who I love with all of my heart. But I just can’t shake the dream of having a daughter.

Sorry your results didnt work.its so emotionally and financially when we do ivf. Its truly heart breaking when it doesnt work out in the end.
With only 2 embryos I am assuming you have lower AMH? What does your dr say your odds are for another egg retrieval?
Do you have an idea why she didnt take? What was your lining on transfer?
Maybe they could up your meds the next round to yield more eggs?
We had to only do one round. But I had a higher AMH. We got 26 eggs collected and 11 frozen embabies.

At 40 IVF is definitely an uphill battle. Everyone can produce normal girls, but it's just that with a low AMH (as we all have at 40) we don't get many eggs to choose from and so since IVF is a numbers game, the deck is very much stacked against us.

Woudl you consider donor eggs?? That may be your best bet.

I’d very much rather not use donor eggs.

First retrieval was 12 eggs five made it to blastocyst - 2 normals One boy, one girl. She didn’t take…

Second retrieval was 14 eggs. Eight made it to the freeze one came back normal. Male

Considering different supplements for cycle three… Considering changing clinics…
