    FET embryo questions

    Hi Carole,

I wandered if you can look at the picture of the embryo that I had transferred as a FET yesterday and answer a couple of questions I have.

Is it a problem how many cells have been left in the zona? Is this classified as the fragmentation. Do you see this often?

Why is the embryo smaller than the shell it was in as pictures of other embryos I have seen are bigger. Is it still shrivelled from the thaw? I know the vitrification process was used and I don't know what stage this photo was taken at.

The grade remains a BC which it was before freezing which I guess I'm still a little disappointed by but anythings possible right? How does it look to you?

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Hi Deaks66,
I wouldn't be concerned about the appearance too much. It looks intact. Yes, it has left some unincorporated cells and fragments behind. This is no big deal. Post thaw, it can take hours for the embryo to plump up again so don't worry about what the embryo looked like before transfer. I would be optimistic. Good Luck!!
