New here...Mom of three girls considering going high tech for a boy

Hello, everyone! I was referred here by someone I met on Babycenter.com. I am a Mom of three beautiful girls (oldest age 4, youngest almost 4 months) and my husband and I desparately want a boy. We tried the Shettles method for our second and third, but it didn't work. We love our girls dearly, but just feel like our family is not complete without a boy. We live in Northern Virginia, so I have looked into the GIVF facility that is near us. I have not yet scheduled a consultation as we are still doing some research and I was told that this was the place to find great information! I have made some wonderful friends on the Babycenter website and I hope I will do the same here as we continue our journey or what my husband and I affectionately refer to as "operation boy".

Welcome! i think you'll find this site great and make loads of supportive friends. When are you thinking you will give ht a go? My eldest is also 4 (well 5 in nov) and my 3rd due to be born in a few weeks. Was thinking of doing ht next april when he is 6 months... this would be like you doing it in two months time... crazy or do-able do you reckon?!

Our girls are all almost exactly two years apart (May 2008, May 2010, and June 2012), so we're thinking of the same timing (so May-June 2014 due date). I breastfeed for a year and from past experience, do not have any cycles until after I completely wean, so we're looking at June at the earliest.

Just realized I didn't really answer your question. I don't think anyone can really answer the "crazy or doable" question but you. I work full-time and as I mentioned I breastfeed for one year for each child (pumping at work is a pain, but I'm too cheap to pay for formula, LOL). I have basically been pregnant or breastfeeding continuously for the past five years. That said, I have an amazing mother-in-law who babysits for us (we do pay her well), I work from home two days a week and we have other family close by to help out. I couldn't imagine trying to get pregnant again in another two months, but that doesn't make you crazy for thinking you can do it.

Thanks pink! I always forget that breast feeding mums have to take that into consideration. i cant breast feed () so that part is out of the equation. Im not sure i can imagine getting pregnant again so soon either :/
