A year ago today . . .

by ilovemykids on June 14th, 2011 at 09:03 AM
A year ago today I was laying on an exam table in California praying and hoping that the little ball of pink cells that had just been put back would continue to grow. She was my only hope for a biological DD - this was our one and only shot at HT and I ended up with nothing to freeze. Despite knowing full well that the odds were against me and it was very likely I would not end up pregnant, I felt a tremendous sense of peace. At least I got to try. At least I made it to transfer and had - for

She is Here!

My DD arrived healthy and beautiful. Both DH and I were so stunned to see her, to have her, and to know what we did to get her. The day after she was born I was alone with her in our hospital room and the enormity of the situation hit me and I cried and cried happy tears. Betas and Ultrasounds

by ilovemykids on April 30th, 2011 at 10:40 PM
My first beta at 12dp5dt was 225, and my second beta at 16dp5dt was 1171. At 7w2d I had my first ultrasound and we saw one baby with a heartbeat measuring around 150. At 9w1d we had another ultrasound and baby was bigger and heartbeat was now around 170. Everything is measuring exactly as it should!

BFP!

At 5dp5dt I took my first home pregnancy test (a First Response Early Response or "FRER"). I fully expected it to be snow white this early, but there was a hint of a very faint line. I was so excited, but also not completely believing it. At 6dp5dt and 7dp5dt the line got a little darker. Today at 9dp5dt it is much darker. I am pregnant. It feels amazing. I can't believe I have made it this far. I feel so incredibly lucky.

Catching Up

The morning after ET we headed to LAX to fly home. We had planned for 2 days of bedrest, but because they needed to stim me one extra day everything got pushed a day. Everything I had read about bedrest indicated that while it is still commonly prescribed, recent studies show it really does not make a difference. Nevertheless I had been looking forward to 2 days of laying in bed watching movies! Oh well, maybe another time.

While at the airport I received an email from my nurse
