    Exercise after a D&C

I had a D&C yesterday at 8.5 weeks (pretty much just a gestational sac was removed as baby stopped growing around 5 weeks) and I forgot to ask the doctor when I can start going back to the gym. Does anyone know what the recommendation is? I just have some very, very light bleeding and cramping so far today and the doctor thinks that's all I should probably have and that it shouldn't last too long. Planning on doing 60 minute sessions again - walking/exercise bike - and would start off less intense (haven't exercised since I got BFP) but just wondering if I can start that early next week or if my body needs more time. Thanks.

3-5 days for less strenuous exercise, 2 weeks for things like super intense weight lifting or really vigorous running/jumping like tennis matches and stuff. (literally no one on here ever does anything like that!!)

Thanks Atomic. I'll start back in a couple days then.

Couple more unrelated questions... After my 2nd miscarriage in December, I started DH on OLE (500 mg a day I believe) and I did 100-200 mg of CO-Q10 per day. We both did that for about 5 weeks before getting pregnant this time. With DH, his SA last October showed that he had a high sperm count (99 million) but his morphology was 4% (so, normal, but low end of normal). Do you think it's worth having him do OLE again for swaying girl/improving sperm health? With me, given that my doctors are really starting to push baby aspirin now (I talked about this in my last PM to you), do you think COQ-10 is maybe not ok for me? I read somewhere on here you say that maybe it makes blood more clotty? (apologies if you didn't say that or I misunderstood what you said - just feeling like I remember reading that). I want to take it for blood sugar lowering/egg quality/anti-inflammation but if I have something going on with my blood, as the docs suspect, should I not? Or wait to ask the RE about it when I meet with her next month?

Let's ask the RE about that one. Coq10 can interact with blood thinners and make them less effective. I have seen enough people take coq10 and see no improvement on egg quality that I seriously doubt it really does much of anything that I would be inclined to have you skip it anyway even just on the off chance it could be doing anything harmful.

Believe it or not, without exception, every one of my clients whose hubbies have had SA had morph 2-4%. Morph on its own is not a big deal (and honestly, at 4% it's still higher than 75% of every SA we've had on here.) I am not sold on OLE doing anything, but if he's willing and you want to try it for pink, by all means.

I think we talked about this already would go onto a lower, but not low carb diet like the Zone or South Beach and be sure you're getting a good level of healthy fat.

I would also ask about turmeric. I don't want you to take it yet, but ask them about it. Turmeric + baby aspirin can be a double whammy for blood thinning so I am pretty sure they'd not want you to take them both together (and if they don't think it's an issue, I DO! LOL) but turmeric in lieu of aspirin might be a possibility. It's got antiinflammatory properties.

Thanks atomic. That's interesting about morphology. I wasn't really concerned about it since his sperm count is high anyways. But I'll have him do the OLE again.

I'll ask the RE about tumeric and CO-Q10. I'm trying to figure out my diet since I'm going back on it again this week, so I'll try to work on lowering carbs. I know before this last bfp I usually ate between 150-225 g of carbs per day (average 1,500 calories). Does that sound right or should it be lower than that?

Yes I'm happy with that level of carb intake. Not too high, not too low.

The morph is not generally believed to be a problem in isolation - just like you say, no cause for concern as long as the count is high because that is still plenty of sperm to find the egg.

Yes thanks for letting me know, I don't do PMs every day (as you know) so it helps to get a heads up over something urgent.
