    Induced Labor linked to Autism?

I know they try to link it to everything under the sun, but this is something new I hadn't heard of...

Inducing labor is linked to increased autism risk

Oh great. Two of my three were augmented :-/. But I don't really have concerns, other risk factors are low for us. I think it's good to get this stuff out there though, since docs often like us to believe these meds/tactics are 100% safe. And it's just not the case.

Yeah...my oldest was induced, but my epidural wore off & I thought I was going to die, so I told the doctor she was doing a c-section & threatened the life of the nurse if she didn't turn the Pitocin off...LOL.
    He isn't autistic.

CNN's Anderson Cooper is doing a story on this tonight on AC360.
I'm going to try to catch it.

my ds2 is severe autims and was not induced he was over due

i induced ds3 because overdue babies have a higher chance of auism i read

i have my induction booked for 10 days from now for this baby and altho im not planning on using the drip witht this one it might be needed... i was hoping to just need to break the water as long as babies head is low enough...

now im wondering is this link really the oxy or is it maternal condition i ask this cause most inductions are either for over due babies or because of health factor... hmmmm

also whats not related/linked to autism... god im sick of this constant headache i have because of this... its hard cause i always wonder if there is something i should have done different...

i personally stand by the fact that it is being over diagnosed and that the increase that there is i would blame on environmental factors such as hormones in food and pollutions... not oxy...

    WAG...
I honestly don't think there's absolutely anything you could've done differently. The gene (or whatever) is there or it isn't. And obviously only God knows what the trigger is, cause we've been guessing for a long time now.
I don't believe for a second that only vaginal delivery babies have autism.

This was just something I had never seen before, so I thought I would share.

o its a new study i actually just heard about it a couple of hours ago and its gotten under my skin lol

oxytocin... a natural chemical that causes labour... makes no sense... should we stop having ogasms too lol obviously oxytocin is a synthetic version but come on

makes me wonder if i should go through with my induction... but then if i dont i risk going both over due and needing it anyways!!!
