Is this amount of folate enough for second trimester?
Hello dear Atomic
I am in my first trimester and I take 1000 Mcg of folate plus 1 tablet of “baby to me 2” that has some amount of folate in it.
My question is: 1:is it too much for the first trimester?
2: For the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, should I gradually drop the 1000 mcg of folate and only take the recommended dosage of “baby to me2” which is 2 tablets a day? Or it is still too much for the second and third trimesters?!
I couldn’t understand the number of the amount on the bottle!

Yes, I agree that's quite confusing.
That is not too much for the first trimester.
At the end of the first tri wean off the extra 1000 by spacing doses further and further out till down to the amount in the prenatal. That amount is only slightly more than what is in standard prenatals.

Should I take only one tablet from the prenatal? Because the daily dosage on the bottle is 2 tablets. In order to cut the amount of folate to a half.

No, 600 mcg is still ok, and you need the other nutrients in it too.
If you feel uncomfortable taking that prenatal with 600 mcg folic in it, please switch to a different prenatal that has only 400.

What’s the minimum And maximum dosage of folic acid during 2nd and 3rd trimester?
I switched to pregnacare prenatal and it has 230 folic acid . Is that enough?

230 what?? micrograms or milligrams?
I do not want you taking the maximum dose so I'm not even going to give that to you.
Most people take 400-1000 mcg in the first trimester, those who need to (like people who are swaying or have a history of recurrent loss) take up to 2000 Mcg. Those who have had a neural tube defect with a previous pregnancy take up to 4000-5000 but that is rare.
Later in pregnancy, about 400 is what is enough. No need for more than that.

Sorry It is 260 mcg folic acid in Pregnacare prenatal. Should I reach 400mcg? I couldn’t find a prenatal with 400 mcg for the next trimesters. I am at the end of the first trimester.

Are you eating well otherwise??? If you are you likely don't need any more than that.
I am confused though. Pregnacare HAS 400 micrograms folic in it?

I don’t eat enough food. No veggies and little fruit because of nausea.
This is the pregnacare that I have.

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
