Yes, you start taking it again when you get AF. That's how it seems to work the best. When people take it all month long, it starts to work as a birth control pill and actually prevents pregnancy. Plus, it's not safe to take when TTC.
Most of us notice changes right away from the vitex. I do not believe it takes 3 months to work, that's just what herbalists are claiming.
If you want, you can take it all month long in months when you're not TTC and then switch to the 2 W on, rest of cycle off pattern.
Do you stop when you get a +OPK or after your temp shows you have ovulated? Or is as simple as 14 days from start of AF and then stop?
J, that can depend on each person's situation and how they respond to vitex. I generally have swayers stop Vitex at pos OPK because it's easiest, but for some people, vitex has been postponing vitex and they actually need to stop vitex or they won't get a pos OPK. If you have regular cycles, you can try for stopping V at pos OPK and then if you realize your normal O day is coming and you aren't getting a pos, then stop the Vitex about a day before you EXPECT to O.
for some people who have mega long cycles (like 40-50 days long) it's best to just take the vitex for 14 days and then stop.
