A few PH Questions

I'm sorry, these have probably been asked a million times before.

First of all, I was under the impression that the new thinking is that XX and XY sperm are not different, so why are we still worrying about ph? Do we think it has an effect in another way?

Secondly, my ph always stays around a 4 to 5, so that would be the "girl zone," correct? I'm not sure if it changes when I am ovulating - I haven't ovulated since February 2010 when I conceived my ds3. So should I not worry about taking the baby aspirin unless I see my ph going up around ovulation time?

For most people pH does go up when they ovulate. I was be using rephresh every 3 days from AF-O. A LOT of women have had success with it a long with diet of course.

There is actually no real proof toward any natural gender selection theory. They are also all just that..theory which means it can change constantly. Scientists always have different ways of testing and viewing, results will change a lot. Just like eggs and coffee...oh yes they are so good for you, no wait they are bad for you, oh no wait again now they are good for you! Give me a break....

If you believe something might work just go for it...it will help you with your mind power which is much stronger than any ph or diet change.


This is what is statistically real... In times of war there is an increase of boys being born, women who have stressful jobs are known to have more girls, women who live near the equator are also more likely to have girls. More boys are conceived during the cold months and born in the warmer months and more girls are conceived in the colder months and born in the warm. These are facts. Take what you want from it.

oh and Ph will go up during ovulation because sperm do survive better in a more alkaline environment--higher Ph. So while we may not know for sure if girl or boy sperm thrive in certain Ph we do know the more alkaline the more favorable toward conception as a whole.

Your pH will always be 4-5 when you're not ovulating as a matter of course. It does go up at ovulation but that's because it's supposed to, that's the only way sperm can survive to make it to the egg.

Baby aspirin is at your discretion but if you want to take it, it's best to ease into it slowly and take it over time, because starting and stopping aspirin is not really safe for your body. So it would be better for you to start off taking 2-3 baby aspirin, then gradually increase (up to 5 a week if you want to), and stay consistent on that rather than starting and stopping it.

Thanks! I just read your ph article, Atomic, and it makes a lot of sense. I remember when I first stumbled upon swaying on IG, I tested my ph and was all bummed out it wasn't a 6 or 7, thinking maybe I just always had a high ph and that's why I had boys. lol. I think I'm going to stay away from the baby aspirin - my mom's allergic to it and I have never in my life had aspirin because of that, so I'm just not comfortable with it.

It is important to never do anything you are not comfortable with or sure about. A happy healthy and conceived baby is better than not getting pregnant or being worried your whole pregnancy because of the actions you took to get a certain gender. In the large scheme of things health trumps gender. :-)
