Twin nub guessing at 11 weeks...not feeling optimistic *UPDATE pg.5 with 13w pics*
I had an elective u/s tonight at 11w1d. We didn't even expect the tech to guess, as we were only going so that we could get some clear shots of the babies to bring to Thanksgiving on Thursday. No one knows we're pregnant yet, let alone having twins, except for our parents.
Anyway, the tech was great and got lots of good shots of the babies, even some in 3D, which we weren't expecting. Then the owner of the place came in, and they both were examining the shots and talking to each other about how it seems like they could give a good guess on the babies' genders. They said it would be just a guess, as it was so early, but they were pretty sure that Baby A was a girl, and that Baby B was a boy. In fact, they said they'd be shocked if Baby B was anything but a boy - they said he had a very clear boy nub.
I was totally okay with thinking I'd get one of each, even though I'd love two girls. But then things took a turn for the worse, and suddenly, they weren't sure about Baby A being a girl anymore. They said the nub looked flat in some shots, then slightly angled in others. They looked and looked, and then finally decided that they really couldn't tell with Baby A, but were pretty sure Baby B was a boy.
I am feeling so deflated. I'm very worried that even after everything I've done to sway, that I have two boys growing inside me. I'm holding out hope that at least Baby A is a girl....but I don't know how much of a chance I have now.
Here are some shots of the babies....

What do you think? Can you even see any nubs in these pictures? It was a lot clearer during the ultrasound session, maybe I should have bought the CD. I have another question too - once a nub is rising, or if it's "slightly raised," there's no chance of it going down, right? I mean, at this stage, all nubs are pretty flat, and then rise if they're boys, right? I admit I'm not great at the nub theory, and I do realize it's very, very early to even be obsessing about this....but I feel like all my hope for ever having a girl has just been totally squashed.
ETA: I know this probably means nothing, but Baby A's heartbeat has always been very high, higher than the other baby's. It's been in the high 170's since 6 weeks, and today it was 169. Baby B's heartbeat has also been very high, but in the high 160's. Today it was 164. DS1 and DS2's heartbeats were always in the 140's to 150's. I don't know it that really means anything, though. Just grasping at straws, I think...
