Don't know where to start!!! So daunting!

Hi there
I am pretty new to this, but am seriously considering pgd ivf. I have 2 ds's and am currently pregnant with ds3. I know I will love this little one when he comes along, but it had made me realise how desperate I am for a girl and can't imagine my life without a daughter.
I have been doing some research and Dr Potter from HRC seems to pop up on a lot of posts as a good option and quite popular and successful?
I am planning on doing something about this next year but feel that it's so daunting and don't really know where to begin and hoping for a little advice. If anyone can answer any of my questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank u. ( I am from the uk by the way)

I would only have one shot at this so if I were to have to embryos transferred am I very likely to have twins? (I'm so scared to have 5 kids)
Is there a percentage chance if getting pregnant first time?
How do I arrange pre testing in the uk?
How much more is it if you have some eggs frozen if it doesn't work out first try?
How long does hubby have to come to la for?
Also what is 3 and 5 day embryo sorting and what does this mean?

Any other info would really help. I'm even worrying about finding somewhere cheap to stay etc.

If you transfer one embryo you have a 1 in 50 chance of it splitting and becoming twins, on this board it has only happenned with twins once.

I would say 50% get pregnant first shot with Dr P.

You would first contact Dr P and then he would suggest the testing etc... he would know better about what happens in your country. You can't do pre testing until you have had your baby and stopped breastfeeding and had 2 regular periods.

You wouldn't freeze eggs, but if you have embryos left over (so fertilised eggs) then it could cost $700 or around abouts, all clinics are different.

Hubby only needs to do his sample, if he can't be with you, he can be there on day of egg collection only or he could go over at a separate time and leave a frozen sample.

Day 3 and day 5 are the days that they test. Each has benefits. A lot of clinics are heading to day 5 testings as on day 3 they can only take one cell and it is possible that they don't get a full picture of the embryo and it could be labelled abnormal when it really is normal. It is also possible for a day 3 embryo to correct itself chromosomally by day 5, so you could waste a good embryo, but day 3 testing generally means you can have a transfer the same cycle.

Day 5 is good because they can take more cells and get a more accurate picture. The downside is less embryos make it to day 5 so less get tested and a lot of clinics can not get results back same day, so you would have to freeze and go back for a FET.
