Question about ph testing

Hi, I'm a big time lurker (been hanging around for about 2-3 months). On the recommendation of some thread on this forum, I bought a electronic ph tester (Hanna). I used it for the first time today, but I don't know if I did it right.

I tested it three times to see if I could get a consistent result...and though it was similar, it wasn't perfect.

I couldn't find on the forum what the "right" way to do it was, so I used my fingers to scoop as much CM as I could then sort of smooshed it onto the reader.

The first time I got 3.93-3.94. The second time I got 4.16. And the third time I got 4.10.

I'm assuming that the more I went back "in there" I was altering the results because of what I've read about the vagina having its own PH. But I wanted to make sure that I was doing it right.

I haven't had a positive OPK yet (haven't tested yet today) but I know I'm getting close. CM was a bit sticky today and the lines are getting darker on my tests the last couple days.

Should I assume that the first test was the most accurate? Did I even do it "right"?

Just jumping back on because I did my opk and its pretty positive right now.

Do NOT worry about tiny fluctuations in pH like that. It's always in flux and will never stay the same from one minute to the next. As long as your pH isn't like 6.5 I wouldn't worry about it (and we've had so many pH opposites, I personally wouldn't even worry much if it WAS.)

Thanks so much. I've read it all before and it still confuses me, lol. Just read though it again since I'm ovulating again and I was able to test again. Today I'm reading around 4.10.

I'm about 6 months away from ttc, so I'm trying to get some good data to help me alter my habits. It seems like these last two months show that I have a low pH on my day before ovulation, so now I'm going to flit around and see what I can do to naturally increase my pH.

I think its time to just get the paid sway plan so I can get going. I'm getting anxious to start doing something to sway.
