VITEX/SP HORROR!!!

OMG,Im going crazy here,I had picture perfect on the clock cycles,have never been late or early,never had spotting,my cycles were really amazing.....sigh
Now,after starting vitex and saw palmetto on cd1, I barely got my period,just light spotting ,that has been going on for 10 days,aaaarrrgh, I dunno what to do ladies

Im afraid my cycles will remain this messy for my attempt,and Im afraid of stopping them coz I know the success with vitex for girlies is great.

HELP, what do I do? Did any of u ladies had the same thing happen to them? What did u do? Did u stop or continue to take?
Im afraid Im gonna spot right thru ovulation,and then my whole attempt month will go out the window,coz there will def be no bd with spotting,ugh.....

I'm sorry to hear your cycles have been messed up, I know how stressful this is! I can't comment on SP, however I am taking vitex and initially it messed with my cycles. I originally had perfect 28 day cycles and the first month on vitex put o date out to day 22 (from 14) and that has slowly moved back (day 16 now), and I have just finished my 5th month on it, I only take it days 1-12 to not delay o date too much.
I hope it comes right for you soon, just remember that messing with your usual cycles is good for TTC girl, I hope that helps.

I seem to be the opposite which worries me as it seems my regular cycles (and hormones?) arent altered by anything! I have taken both SP and vitex everyday since weekend before christmas and I am STILL OVing when I normally do, and STILL have 27 day cycles!! It does make me spot for a number of days before AF arrives though. (NB I know you are only meant to take it AF - O but I am not ttc right now, taking it for 10 weeks straight before my first attempt)

I would not stress about it. It's all in how your body reacts to it because we are all different. I wouldn't of taken Vitex out of my sway even if the migraines would not have stopped.. because that's what it did to me.
I would just keep it up. It may even take you 3 cycles to even things out so they are girl friendly, and if it works you can look back and say it was all worth it.
Just have faith! :)
I do agree with Peppermint.. you want changes to happen in your cycle.. to make it girl friendly, and the fact that you are spotting seems to me that you are very sensitive to it, and that's a GOOD thing!

Ok are you telling me that your period was light in the month you FIRST started V and SP or had you taken them a month prior?

If it was light the same month you started the V and SP, they can't be what is affecting you because your lining that is now coming off was build a month ago.

OR, are you saying you started them a month ago, took them straight through the month or 2w on rest of cycle off, and are now having a light period?

Are you doing aspirin or cranberry and if so how much?

That is what Zanacal did and her O was also totally unaffected (got a girl too).

I also know a lot of people back on IG who took them for months at a time and were unaffected. I wonder if it may be the addition of the LE Diet that screws some people up.

I took them for 10 days before AF, then continued thru AF, till cd11 where I felt strong ov pains,but opks were negative,and chart temps didnt look like I ovulated.
Then on AF, after taking the vitex for 10 days earlier( i was planning to take it a full month so I started early), af was very light almost spotting,and continued likethat from cd1-cd11, thats when i stopped vitex coz it scared the hell out of me,and didnt have spotting for 2 days,then cd13 till today cd 17 im bleeding again,more than spotting,less than af.
Im going crazy to be frank,ugh....

And Im not taking neither aspirin nor cranberry,just taking saw palmetto 320 mg

Well, unfortunately not enough people have taken vitex in that pattern for me to know, but if it wasn't happening before and it's happening now, then I would prob. drop it too.

My confusion is that your uterine lining forms the FIRST part of your menstrual cycle, so I don't see how starting vitex after ovulation could possibly have caused a lighter AF. What may be happening is that it's somehow preventing your lining from sloughing off very well (maybe keeping prog high and sustaining the lining??).

And then stopping the vitex has then made the rest of the lining come off. So really it's just the rest of the AF coming out now, instead of when it was supposed to.

I understand if you would just like to drop them, but you may want to try just taking the vitex starting AF- 1-2 days before ovulation and see if that works better for you.
