EWCM and negative OPK

Okay, I know this is something I should know but I have never had ewcm until this cycle (thank epo) so I never pay attention to these questions. I am reading a lot of conflicting informtion on websites. My opk said negative at 2:30 PM and at around 7:30 PM tonight I had ewcm. I am not due to O for 3-4 more days (at least that it was it normally is). Is it normal to get it days before? I am going to use another opk but I drank a ton of water when I got home from work so I'm trying to hold it as long as possible. Thanks!

I did the same thing last cycle. Ewcm on sat and some Sun but ov on wed (+opk on tues) with scant amount ewcm on wed. So I did some reading and learned that ewcm is that great medium to create a special reservoir to hold sperm in the cervix until ov and they are supposedly released a little at a time. Cool huh? Oh I just started epo this cycle as well and I noticed the last two days (I'm cycle day 8) that I actually have increase in cm and somewhat watery a few hours after I take it. I'm gonna experiment a but to try to time the increase for around time of dtd :-) But...it does make it harder to chart!

I have 2 boys and 3-4 days of EWCM before O is average for me, 7 isn't unusual, and I once had two weeks of EWCM before I finally ovulated (it was the cycle after a miscarriage so really wonky). Not only is it "normal," it's a great sign of improving fertility and maternal condition. Good luck!

Yeah it sounds right, when you dtd while you have ewcm the sperm will be nourished and be able to go in and wait for the egg. Use preseed if your ewcm goes away before you get a +opk.

Yay thanks!! Glad to hear this. I wasn't sure because I've had cramping near my ovaries but I think that's pretty normal for me the week before.

Yes absolutely normal for cm days before ovulation. That is good for blue.
