Yes, it can be dangerous for the baby. Please consult your doctor. I hope you have already had this illnes, so you and your baby are protected. Which we are in most cases, so try not to stress mama, hugs!
thank you, it feels like everything is going wrong in this pregnancy, with five weeks to go i'd finally started to relax then i was told i had potential placenta previa and now this!
I have a doctors appointment at 4pm but thats the earliest he could see us so i have 5 hours to worry first!
Don't worry about it. This pm is fine to talk t your doc about it. Slapped cheek can cause complications if you are not immune but if you get it the doc can monitor you and give a blood transfusion if really necessary. They know how to avoid complications so just trust your doc. It is great that the school was quick off the mark on this.
I would call your dr and they will do a blood test to see if you are immune, my dr's office does a blood test for it as a routine test when you are pregnant
The further along in pregnancy you are the less risk there is. Let us know how you go at the dr.
doctor was useless he said he wasn't convinced that what he's got and even if it was its a mild illness not dangerous to me or the baby - which is not what i read online - although id did a fair of digging on google and it was saying its only upto 20 weeks it should be an issue
Was that the OB? I'm tempted to listen more to doctors than the internet, but you should feel he takes you and your concerns serious. How are you feeling today? Hope you're not to scared and stressed.
no i don't see my consultant for another week and a half, it was my gp (family doc) but advise i got was off the nhs website so its usually pretty good
Ok. Well I hope he was able to ease your mind :) Just a few more weeks and your baby girl will be here and all of this stress will be a nasty memory!
