Is brown blood bad?

Sorry if this is TMI, but my last period was brown instead of red blood. I've been on BCP for an extra month, because my cycle was postponed, and I'm concerned that this has affected the quality of my uterine lining. Can anyone tell me what brown blood means?

Brown blood is old retained blood. It is a sign that your lining did not completely shed during your previous bleed. When you stop your BCP before your next cycle, you will bleed again and this situation will correct itself.
