( I didn't know you were celebrating the Mother's Day on May 8, does that date have some special symbolism - except for being Mother's Day obviously LOL!)
Here we celebrate March 8th as Women's Day ( but it's mostly dedicated to mothers and grandmothers)
The celebration of that day began at International Women's Conference in Copenhagen in 1910 where Clara Zetkin ( fighter for women's rights) proposed an annual day to honor women's rights. It is now celebrated on March 8 each year. http://yoursmiles.org/psmile/science/p0317.gif
