when in cycle TO MEASURE PH - all the time or just when there is lots of CM???

Hi,

I am wondering very much - after I got that ph digital tester - when to measure my CM ph? I usually put my diva cup in my vagina and then wait some hours to collect this CM, and then I measure...but really strange results I got - in the time when it was before ovulation, I had around 5-6 or more, but soon after ovulation again I measured and it was cca 4,4. I also measured DH ph, and it was around 7,3...I guess those last measurement are good for SWAYING FOR A GIRL, but can I beleive in the results. I also stick to diet, and I dont understand why there would be so much different when measuring once and another time. Do I need to measure ph every day.... Girls and mummies, I am lost in all those data, but I would like so much to have a girl this time...I am from Europe, and I dont know where to buy this Crystal Light or anything adequate, I do not have any idea, please help...thanks!:hair:

What you describe is totally normal - around ovulation your pH rises because your body is trying to produce a lot of EWCM for sperm to swim in so they can fertilize an egg. The normal pH of EWCM is in the 7's because that is the pH at which most sperm thrive. When the EWCM dries up after ovulation, your normal vaginal secretions are much lower in pH but they don't count, unfortunately. Only your pH at ovulation counts because that is when the egg willl be fertilized.

I would not bother checking pH at any other time than around ovulation. You will not get an accurate reading.

If you can't find Crystal Light, anything containing aspartame will sway pink, as will most artificial sweeteners like asulfame K and Splenda. (The only artificial sweetener that sways blue is stevia.) Or, you can take an aspirin pill every other day and that will help lower your pH. Losing weight also helps lower your pH.

When you get near to ovulation, you can take an antihistamine like Zyrtec or Benadryl and that will help dry up your CM, so that will help you conceive a girl even if you don't get your pH much lower.
