Today we had our meeting with the geneticist about Evelyn's condition. He asked if I had been taken anything during the pregnancy, and I couldn't bring myself to say I'd had baby aspirin, as I've been taking it this pregnancy - 3 times a week.
I'm trying to wean myself off now and I'm at the every three days, moving to every 4 days for a couple of weeks, but I'm now worried that perhaps it caused Evelyn's problems.
Can I get off the aspirin quicker?

Northern, I'm sorry for all the uncertainty and stress that you're under at the moment. I know I'm not a typical case, but the minute I get my BFP I have to start taking baby aspirin once a day until I'm 36 weeks pregnant. This is because studies have shown it to dramatically decrease the chance of pre-eclampsia in those that have had it severely & before 32-24 weeks gestation. Ds1 was born at 30 weeks due to PET and ds2 came on time with thanks to the daily doses of aspirin. I know it's not recommended for most normal pregnancies, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just wean off it as safely as you can. Sorry I can't help with advice on that as I avoided taking it during TTC, purely because I was worried about how it may interact with my daily doses once I got my bfp.
BTW, as for worrying about it causing Evelyn's problems, that I don't know. BUT I am sure that I'd have had another poorly prem baby if it wasn't for the wonder-drug that aspirin can be. :)

I had no idea what you'd been through...my heart breaks for you. I am so incredibly sorry.
Honestly, I do not believe Baby Aspirin could cause problems like that at all. I really think you're okay...I'm sure you can wean yourself off now...just do 3 days for a week, then two days for a week, then once, then stop.

I have a child with a genetic issue. Genetic issues are caused at fertilization when chromosomes fail to do what they are supposed to do. Drugs do not cause genetic conditions. They can cause a miscarriage but don't have the power to affect chromosomes.
I took aspirin my entire pregnancy until 36 weeks with DS. It's used with IVF all the time. Let your OB know you are on it and continue to wean yourself off.
It won't cause a chromosome issue though.
I was on baby aspirin till week 8 of this pg. Most ht ladies on here did the same. I know that some discontinue if they start bleeding because of its blood-thinning effect, but have never heard of any adverse fetal conditions caused by taking baby aspirin in pg. Nuthin - apparently chemical exposure can cause the issues Evelyn had. The consultant explained it as at the point the organs begin to form, it's like driving up to a junction, the genes will either indicate right (the proper formation) or left (the organs are all on the opposite side, but no adverse effects). But with this condition, something at the point of coming up to the junction acts like a drunken driver - they indicate one way, go, change their mind, turn the other way, change their mind again, etc. So, things aren't put in the right place, and as they're not where they should be, they don't work properly together.

But it has been proven these genes are flipped on and off during development, and chemical exposure is one reason, some are just faulty, like a faulty indicator.

I guess so. They're going to see if there's enough DNA left to check if it was a normal genetic problem either started with her, or inherited from us, if its not, then they think it could be chemical as they've ruled out the major infections.
ALL the HT gals take much higher doses of aspirin, oftentimes throughout their entire pregnancy. Anyone with MTHFR or other clotting disorders takes much higher doses. And most women with unexplained losses are also given aspirin as well. All of them would be taking way more than what we take.
I would NEVER tell anyone to take anything I didn't feel was safe.
If you want to go ahead and drop the aspirin now, that's fine and your call to make. The reason why I have you guys drop it so gradually is because I want you to be safe and for your pregnancy to be safe, and when you go from taking blood thinners to not taking blood thinners, it's best to do that gradually.
