Do hidden nubs mean boy?
I was looking at my most recent ultrasound pics that I posted here a few days ago. They were taken during the nt scan and the babies legs are up. There is no nub visible and I'm wondering if this is more likely because it's a boy (since it's pointing up a bit it follows the leg up and hides behind it). I've looked at a bunch of pictures and it seems like with girl, the nub points out straight and therefore points out beyond the leg. Does that make sense? It's kind of hard to explain without pics.
Also, I just checked my other two DS's 13 week photos and the legs are up and no nub shows...

Nope. I think it only means that for some reason the nub isn't in the shot. My second son and my daughter both hid their nubs in the screen shots I was given (in one his hips were rolled away from the camera, hers, I dunno, it just wasn't there and in the video there were moments of a long flat nub peeking out). I wouldn't read too much into that :)

I agree with hotdog, I think regardless of gender its just not showing in the shot for what ever the reason!

Hmm. I'm off to find some hidden nub girl pics! How else am I supposed to occupy my time during the long wait?? :)

Is it more common to get a nub shot or not get a nub shot in a profile pic?

In order to see the nub the sonographer has to image on the plane it is located on since ultrasound works in "slices". If it isn't seen in an image it simply wasn't on that particular plane.

I've wondered the same thing. As in, do a higher percentage of the "no nub seen" photos turn out to be boys? I feel like this would account for the significantly smaller number of confirmed boy nub shots that can be found.
