Does this sound crazy...?

So I had after a few weeks managed to get my gd under control. That was until yesterday when my cousin whom I am very close with and even work with found out that her baby is a girl. I'm really happy for her but sooooo jealous. She's due the month after me, and if course I'm having my 2nd boy (21 weeks). I really had prepared myself for this to happen but it's not really making things any easier... Had a few tears last night after she messaged me, and I'm just feeling pretty down today. Dh and I have decided to keep quiet about the fact we know the gender, so I guess that will make it easier for me to mask my feelings in public. Anyway, getting to the crazy part...haha... After this baby is born dh and I do plan to have another, and he is fully supportive of us trying a proper sway (not sure he know what that entails fully but I think he's pretty open to anything since he knows how I feel). I also have sat and gone through lots of girls that I know that have had babies and checked them on the Chinese gender chart, and MOST of them seem to be correct?!? I can't figure out why it would work though but I'd say 9 times out of 10 it seems correct... I can second that at least!
Do any of you have experience if the Chinese chart being right/wrong? I am leaving nothing to chance next time and will definitely go with it anyway but I'm curious if it's been right for you ladies?

Congrats on your sweet baby! I'm right there with you on the GD but its my 3rd boy. I followed the Chinese calendar to a T as well as biorhythms, 16 weeks on the LE diet and suggestions from atomic...and I failed. So I feel the Chinese calendar does not work...at least for me :( I would suggest for your next baby to get a personalized sway plan from atomic...I really regret not doing that as well as the exorcise. Hugs!

Sorry you're having a rough time but I can totally understand your feelings. I know a couple people farther along than me (I'm 18 weeks) and I hoped they would both have boys so I would feel better if I was having a boy. Turns out they both are having boys (I don't know what i'm having yet) but I had the same thought process as you...it's hard to see someone else having what you want.

As far as the chinese gender chart...I think it really depends on which you use. It is important to go by your lunar age which can sometimes be 2 years older than your actual age. It is confusing for me though because the one on baby center says boy if I enter when I believed I conceived and girl if I enter in the due date...another site where I just enter my birth day (it converts to lunar age for you) and the month I conceived says girl. However, all of the different variations were right for my first baby.

Thank you, it really does make me feel better being on here - I'm just so glad that it exists. It is exactly like you say, seeing people get what you long for..feels a bit like it's being 'rubbed in'. I really agree with you on the suggestion @Gimmeag on getting a personalized sway from atomic, I will definately do this next time round. That lady sure knows her stuff!
I am somewhat scared to even try for a third since I know how bad I have felt this time, and I guess if a little opposite came along as no. 3 I'd be pretty heartbroken since I don't think I can have any more than 3 sections safely... Dh thinks that we would be silly not to try once more though, so I'm glad of his supportiveness...
Good to know that the Chinese chart isn't accurate for everyone in a way too...feels like your fate is sealed a bit if it was accurate! I guess it's something to incorporate though which wouldn't hurt I guess...

The only child the Chinese Gender thingy was right for was my middle. All of them said boy. And he is. It was a mixed bag with my first and he is also a boy. And most said boy with my third and were wrong. It's one of those lucky things that people put a lot of stock into, but actually isn't more accurate than any other old wives tale.

I read a thing on birthdays once and how if you put 50 people onto a room and had them put their birthdays on a slip of paper, it seems it would be unlikely that more than one pair would share a birthday. But that is not actually true, that often even three people will share a birthday and several others would be paired off as well. So whenever I hear of that silly thing with the birthdays, I think of that calendar because it seems the same statistical thing is at play. That it seems more accurate than it is (even though those two things are very different, they are related in my crazy head!).

Anyway, I'd get a plan from Atomic and try to forget that calendar, so you don't throw out a good month to try and get that girl! (Oh, but none of it is crazy...we all think some pretty nutty things when it comes to getting our DG)

Congrats on expecting your new little one! Chinese chart using correct lunar age was not right for me. Read a lot of failed sways - that's what I did. Seeing people who put their heart, soul, diet and of course eggs in the swaying basket, and were heartbroken not to get what they wanted, convinced me I had to go into it expecting a non-DG.

It's of course very hard to do that when we've secretly convinced ourselves that next time we're getting that DG. We can't believe it won't work for us, that the universe would deny us what our heart wants 2, 3, X times.

In my case, we're going HT for a 3rd. If my only option was swaying, and I KNEW (not just fake-convinced-myself 'knew') that I could be ok in the end with either gender, I'd at least do the personalized swaying service on this site...don't go off old wives' tales.

Ocean, I think you've hit the nail on the head - convincing ourselves that since we want it so much, the next one just HAS to be our DG this time, why would I be denied?! It makes you question things so much, but really it's pot luck most if the time I guess, like so many things!
I would absolutely love to be able to go ht for the 3rd, but being from the UK it's not available unless there are genetic medical conditions �� There is always the fact that a full blown sway may well fail and it really is a gamble I'd need to feel up to! Need to be prepared to hear what I don't want - very tough!
I'm kinda glad this Chinese chart doesn't seem to be working for everyone too, I'm rethinking that one too!

This is me. I am reading all about sways on here. We did sort of sway for this baby but I wasn't as serious about it as the ladies on this board. I wish I had been. I read some stuff on The Bump about Shettles and foods to avoid and whether MH could have caffeine or not. We did all that but obviously didn't get a girl. Now I realize I am NOT okay with a third boy. I would rather stop at two if I can't guarantee a girl. So I am hoping to be able to go HT. MH was raised Catholic and I know he's not going to want to.

My DH was against HT - significantly. But with time and some subtle convos he's now along for the ride. My posts talk to how that happened.

Forgive and release yourself - if and when you can - for not swaying differently. Tell yourself this baby was always meant to happen - and would've no matter what. I know that's the case, with certainty now, about my DS2. My DS1 was meant to have a brother. It took me a while but I'm there now. No sway would've changed this - and Thank God for that. Oh my beautiful baby boy, he breaks my heart with his sweetness!

Thanks Ocean, I definitely know you're right and that I will just fall in love so much with this next one. I'm glad I will have now had the time to come to terms with it before the birth so thet I can try to get excited for him - and stop hoping for a dg. Sure, I still really want my dg badly to complete my family and really pray that she comes along one day, but for now I'll try to move on and concentrate on the present. Xxx
