What the heck??? OPK

Ok help! I got a different brand of OPK's got the target brand since that's where I was at they are the same in the sense of last months that I used just dipping into the urine and a little strip. Today is CD5 and I'm at the end of my period. This OPK says to use fmu and this morning the lines are the same color???? I am on cd5! Should I retest mid day to make sure? How is that even possible? I can't help but think it is wrong and no way am I ovulating this early!!! The shortest cycle I've had in the last 6 months is 26 and I have a 14 day lp...suggestions needed!

You could very well be getting up to ovulate, but its more likely that its just a false surge. But, women get PG on their period all the time. :/ Are you having any EWCM in with it? When using NFP/FAM to avoid PG you aren't supposed to have unprotected sex while bleeding cause the bleeding can obscure fertile CM, and so any bleeding is to be treated as potential high fertility. If in doubt, you can always have an attempt today!

I do think they are wrong, but go ahead and have an attempt but keep testing.

we DTD just for fun last night. Should I go get a different brand? Yesterdays test was absolutely nothing not even a second line just the control line so seems bizarre to me to go from nothing to pos especially this early.

I did have a big glob of possible ewcm but sorry TMI it was bloody so I didn't think anything of it.

OK then I would stick with yesterdays "not-really-an-attempt" because I find it really unlikely this is a true pos.

As a general rule (with plenty of exceptions) if you don't have a day of EWCM before and a day after, you aren't fertile.

I couldn't believe that this was it either so I just took another test and it is a faint second line which is more what I expected! The instructions say to use FMU but should I stick to mid day instead?

If the instructions say FMU I think you should go with that. Just wanted to let you know, that from my own experience, if I get a test line the same color as the control I am NOT ovulating - confirmed by U/S. But if darker then I AM ovulating. GL!!!

I have Oed on CD5 before and gotten pg. I rarely O that early, but it has happened! With a 28 day otherwise super regular cycle.

I also never get blaring OPKs. My positives are never as dark as the control line and my surge is at most 6 hours long, the times I've used OPKs. I've also observed that you can have a typically long or short LH surge but then occasionally have the opposite of what's normal for you.
