Should I stop fish oil??? Atomic help please! :)

I have been taking fish oil the last 3 months or so to balance my hormones. A few months ago I started having signs of estrogen dominance- night sweats the night of O and the night before AF started, also heart palps and many other signs as well (I am 36 btw). I started on fish oil and it helped a lot- night sweats stopped...until last night. I've been using the CBEFM and have "high fertility" readings for over a week now. I woke up last night around 2am to my shirt being soaking wet and thought "bet I ovulated." Sure enough, this morning I poas and got the egg symbol. I have decided not to ttc this month, I just started the girl diet very recently and want to be on it longer before we try.

I know fish oil sways blue but I have been afraid to stop it b/c of the estrogen dominance symptoms, and also just a tiny bit worried about my fertility overall b/c I used to have tons of CM and ewcm when I ovulate and I literally never have any anymore. Should I stop the fish oil? I have another night sweat last night so obviously it isn't helping 100% but at the same time I read on here that estrogen dominance sways blue so I want to be rid of it if that's the case! Ugh.

Also, I read atomic's sticky about clomid....really been thinking I want to try it since it is my last shot at a girl but she says you shouldn't use it if you are over 35 b/c it can impair fertility.

Well, I doubt you read that "estrogen dominance" sways blue on here because I'm not sure I believe in "estrogen dominance", and it's not a medically recognized condition.

Higher estrogen swaying blue is just one theory out of many and it's never been tested at all. That having been said I don't recommend fish oil for ANY pink swayer and the best thing you can do to bring estrogen down is taking fiber which has been getting great results for us. Lose weight, exercise, eat less fat. Those things bring estrogen down. If as you say, this is your last shot at a girl, to me is is a major step in the wrong direction for you to be taking fish oil.

Just to clarify, you do not get the egg sign when you ovulate, you get it 1-2 days before ovulation.

Clomid can raise FSH and so as a general rule the older one gets, the less well it will work. I tend to play things very conservatively and make the cutoff 35, because I know there are some out there who are going to take it without a doctor's ok or any testing/monitoring (quite often doctors hand out Clomid without any testing or monitoring themselves and are very irresponsible in who they give it to). But we have seen some people taking it over 35 and having success. there's a big difference between taking C at 36 and taking it at 41 - there's a lot of wiggle room in there and different people;s fertility falls off at different rates.

Thanks again atomic!!! I do have fiber pills and was taking them for a month or so and then stopped, so I will start again. I will also stop fish oil immediately! I didn't take my fish oil pills today and will not take another until a bfp. SO glad we did not dtd today!!!!!!!
How long can I be off of fish oil before ttc?? Like, how long will it be in my system?

I can't give a straight answer about how long it stays in your system because it's really not a matter of the fish oil itself, it's the effect it has on your body and that can vary by individual. I'd certainly TTC next month if everything esle was going good.

Yes egg symbol is anywhere from 8-48 hours, average 24-36 range.

I think Clomid at 36 isn't a dealbreaker but you may want to get FSH tested befre and if already on the high side, might want to give it a pass.
